Walked in to an empty place. No one in sight. Didn't have things available that were on the menu. Food was horrible. We wanted the home away from home experience but definitely did not get that. If I could review this place with half a star, I would and it'd be for the cool playground outside for the kids. Would not recommend to anyone.

Friendly staff :) Clean premises, and the tables were well presented. Wide variety of options on the menu. Very tasty/flavourful, we took medium heat. I would recommend “hot” instead. Suggestion/area of improvement: traditional carrot/green chilli salad be served complimentary with meals. We tried other establishments and we can honestly say that this place has thee Best “Durban Style Bunny Chow” in George, hands down!!! Edit: I was forced to downgrade the star rating after two poor experiences regarding freshness recently. **I hope this is addressed as these restaurants are rare in the area**

A great little Indian restaurant. Prices are reasonable. There is seating to eat in or you can order take away. Large selection of dishes. Menu indicates how hot each dish is. I found the medium hotness to be quite mild. Not licenced. Bring your own wine.

The food was yummm.. it really tasted so good that I felt very good after dinning here... very much similar to my home cooked food in North India. And the staffs... esp the Chief had made it according to our taste. Thank you

Don’t let this Cafe fool you of its looks! Not charming and for the germafobia, it will be a scare. However, this is the reality of a true India experience with the owner originally from India. Food is really good and very popular. Please fo try, you will experience good Indian curry in Mumbai.

Worst food Ive ever had in my life, rice tasted mouldy, all of the food was cold, paneer tasted rotten, cheap frozen bagged vegetables , roti was hard naan was hard Strange white stuff on the glasses All the utensils were dirty and the drinks tasted old. Everything was expensive the curry didn't even come with rice, rude disinterested staff. Felt bad even paying for it..

Very bad service. Cashier is only person and she is only doing service and giving very bad vibes. We ordered prawns and dal makhani. Both was so bad in taste, and in return the girl saying it’s prawns no matter it’s burnt and hard to eat. Never ever recommend this restaurant.

Food is good but below several negatives points let me give a rating of 3: - No tissues or napkins provided. - when spoon given it me it was put on the table! I don’t think that’s hygienic. - No soft drinks or juices were available at restaurant! Water wasn’t provided, they asked us to pour to ourselves near exit. - My lamb order contained a lot of bones as can be seen in the picture.

The finest Indian restaurant in all of George is a must-visit. You can't miss their delectable dishes like bunny chow, aloo parantha, gobhi ki sabzi, and butter chicken. My personal favorite is the aloo parantha. The staff is exceptionally polite and friendly, making it an all-around great experience.

Big Shoutout to Mumbai Cafe they organised a buffet dinner for 45 people in just an hour. Everything was hot, and dinner was laid at the table( at short notice). They have good seating arrangements. Only need to mind the step inside the restaurant to avoid falls. Delicious food. Great service. Dal Paneer, everything was yum. Good parking space is available. Must try. Thanks to Clinton & Shoaib & the chefs, too.

I ordered the chicken biryani and butter chicken and it tasted so delicious! Although the smell of the place smelled like outdated oil and the smell is still stuck on me.. The staff were really nice!

Great Bunny Chows. We had the mutton curry bunnies as a take away, our party of 5 had varying levels of heat (as ordered) and this was on point. Each curry had a decent amount of sauce and full of meat. Will go again next time I’m in George.

Food tasted okay. Service could improve and they did not have everything on the menu. Unfortunately kids meal wasn't good. Doubt that I will go back. Definitely not value for money.

Most disgusting food iv ever tasted. Had one spoonful and refuse to eat anymore. Ordered chicken korma which tasted like the chicken was boiled in water with the so called curry gravy which tasted like water with yellow food colouring. Also for R120 you expect more than 4 small pieces of chicken.

Such a delicious authentic Indian meal. Everything was super tasty especially the garlic Naan! Sheldon, Thanks for pointing out the Chana phindi... Great choice!! 👌

Ordered Lamb curry. Food was tasty but way too expensive for the small portion. Lamb also very tough, probably mutton rather than lamb.

For people who do not like too spicy they have a Butter Chicken that will make you love Indian food, then there is the Tikka Chicken which was spicy and flavourful. All round, I look forward to the next curry evening

Ordered what I thought was a large meal that cost R200, got home and opened the takeaway bowls to find a huge amount of rice and a very small portion of lamb the ratio was about 1 part lamb curry to 4 parts rice. The lady on the phone was nice and very helpful but over all the experience was average to bad with very disappointing potions.

Was ok. Stopped for tea and a snack. Didn't like the utensils, chipped old cups and saucers. The chai was tops but the punjab chicken samosas nothing to rave about. Had to ask for serviettes.

We had a very nice meal here. Truly delicious!!! Very authentic!!! Service and everything else could be better. The waitress tried very hard and was honest.

Ordered a lamb bunny. The lamb tasted like old fish. The bread was not fresh and was drenched in oil. This is not at all what a curry or bunny should be like.

Mumbai cafe boasts with the best Indian food in the whole of George they have some of the best curry I have tasted, the mutton bunny chowbis by far my favourite item on their menu and I would recommend it to anyone, they also provide takeout if you order in advance

Worst food ever. "Durban Curry" lamb bunny tasted like rubber with gravy. My bunny had a big piece of potato, 2 big pieces of bone and a piece of chewy meat. Raita tasted like milk with chopped grass. Butter chicken n lamb Rogan Josh was less than mediocre. Highly NOT recommended.

We got an amazing table of food at Mumbai Cafe. The quality of food was outstanding and it tasted delicious. Highly recommended. We ordered Kadhai Paneer, Dal, Naan and Potato Parata. Everything was made fresh and served hot.

We were a little hesitant to try this place given the recent reviews. Nonetheless, We decided to give it a go and we were pleasantly surprised. This is obviously a less expensive Indian restaurant. The setup is basic. And the premises are clean. The food quality was very good. Portion sizes were on par with most Indian restaurants and very reasonably priced. There were staff/people standing outside when we arrived and whilst the staff didn’t really have a warm, welcoming attitude in the least, they were not rude. I think it’s probably just a cultural difference. Service was average but fast. We didn’t wait long at all.

I was really impressed by this restaurant. Definitely the best Indian cuisine in the George area. Very tasty curries and there are dishes that are spicy and some just moderate. They do cater for everyone even if you don't like very spicy food. But I recommend the Lamb Vindaloo.

We were a group of 7 people went for dinner was arranged by our tour company. Horrible experience. No manner , no welcoming and horrible taste of food and very dirty place .. we just reply we are begging food there As an Indian origin I would suggest every indian and every tour company not to book there.

Ordered somoas to go, the choice i got was veg or non veg, they looked like pyramids, with a thick crust abd very little filling. The little filling that was i side tasted good but the thick crust was off putting.

When walking into the cafe, we politely asked the manager/owner how long the meal would take as we were in a hurry. She told us ten minutes. Upon been seated, we were ready to order within 5 minutes but had nobody take our order, instead other patrons were being served and linen was being folded. When we went to the counter to ask for our orders to be taken the manager told us that we were only sitting for 5 minutes, not understanding our urgency. We walked out o there as service is clearly an issue!

Walked into the restaurant craving some nice curry and got 4 people all on their cellphones that looked at us as we sat down and didn't and didn't even bat an eyelid. Very unimpressed, I've never been treated like this elsewhere. Definitely won't be back.

👍👍 I enjoyed my time and food at 34 Degrees South. If you sit outside, you get treated to awesome views too of what can be described like Venice. Towards the latter part of the day, you'll see a gorgeous South African sunset (if there are no clouds). I had some wine by the glass, one of the few places...
