Our captain expertly (in my opinion) steered us through the (in)famous Knysna Heads into the cobalt-blue ocean, and safely back. Loved the information he shared with us along the trip and he made sure to stop the boat whenever we spotted (or thought we spotted...) 'something' in the water or wanted to take a picture of a landmark.

Was an awesome experience. As we all were informed the whales are wild so spotting them is chance. This was more than ok with me. Really enjoyed the ride and going out to sea. Saw a few humpback dolphins, seals, a mollo mollo (sunfish).

The eco-marine tour was so exciting and thrilling that I wish we did it more than once. Staff is really amazing and next time I will book more trips to go on the ocean

Agency that organizes whale watching tours in the wild, perfect organization we leave early in the morning from the port of Knysna, the exit from the gulf can be lively with some waves, given the fact that the exit to the open sea is narrow. the price is right

A very friendly, professional, fun team greets you and makes your trip that much better. We had an awesome experience and I’d definitely do it again! Note: bring some kind of water-proof jacket/raincoat because even if the sea seems calm, you get soaked! (just to add to all the fun!)

We just came from a trip with them. Wow is an understatement. From booking and paying all the way to the trip was magnificent. The crews knowledge, the skipper is AMAZING at what he does. They made our day , month , year. Thank you guys for an unforgettable experience and thank you for not just showing us whales but also the Dolphins and the coastline. This was above and beyond. 100/10 would definitely recommend.

We booked at a very short notice (3 hours before the tour time) for a lagoon boat ride as we set out from Plett Bay to Knysna. When we arrived at the meeting point (that we were already late since we lost our way) and the office staff picked us up, we were informed that there were no other passengers booking for lagoon tour but rather, they would free-upgrade us to a whale tour. We gladly accepted and it was no disappointment. It was a long 2.5 hours tour when the captain/skipper were not satisfied with the sighting and kept on going - until we saw quite a few humpback /southern whales (in a distance, breaching, blowing, mother and calf...etc.). There were dolphins along the way and a few tidbits about whale lives, informative to us. This is a reputable and good operator to go with. P.S. Due to the long ride and afternoon sea, even though I am usually quite motion-savvy, I had to try hard to suppress my sea sickness. To that, as well as we had been to many sea and air adventures all over the world, just as recent in these SA areas, I assure you that the operators truly make their decision to fly / ride or not the hour or two within the event time conditions. People just need to understand. It happened to us in Floria (USA), in Cape Town (SA), in Belize -- they cancelled when it needed to be. It would not be a safe nor pleasant experience otherwise.

We booked a whale watching tour by phone and at short notice (in the morning) for the end of October. In the afternoon it was canceled due to bad weather conditions. So we made a second appointment for an extra whale watching tour the next morning at 8:00am. We were assured that we would be informed in good time if this tour did not take place. When I arrived at the office I bought our tickets. The staff seemed rather disinterested. They said that after I had paid, they still had to check the weather conditions. About eight tourists were at the office promptly at 7:45 a.m. and the company managed to keep us waiting until 8:30 a.m. and then 'surprisingly' canceled the tour. They emphasized that it was about us and our well-being and that they therefore had to cancel the tour because otherwise we would probably vomit due to the high waves. We felt it was an absolute impudence to let all the tourists arrive and to emphasize several times that you had to be on time, only to send the skipper out after 8:00 a.m. to check the conditions. In addition, you could have expected to be able to get a coffee after waiting 45 minutes. We absolutely cannot recommend the company. They don't seem interested in continuing to deal fairly and competently with their customers, considering previous reviews. Disappointing...

Amazing whale watching experience. Five stars! Our guide was amazing and patient and made sure that we followed whatever tip on whale locations he got resulting is a few amazing viewings. Wish I could upload videos. Had to screenshot whale pics from the videos that we took. At the end of the trip he also took us past these amazing caves and we experienced the most beautiful sunset on the water.

Really enjoyed our whale watching boat tour with Ocean Odyssey and our skipper Johannes! The boats are clean and well maintained and our skipper was skillful and made sure our safety was number one! He was knowledgeable and was able to find a few whales (including a mother and calf), seals and other great sea life!

Awesome experience heading out on the ocean with the crew creating memories with the family. Seeing whales, seals and the coastline. I would highly recommend giving them a call if you are unsure of where to go.

We had a wonderful trip. It was off season so there weren't any whales but we learnt a lot about the area and managed to see a pod of dolphins and a hammerhead shark right at the end, which was a real treat (I only took video of them so don't have photos to share but I've included some of the massive bird colonies and the caves)

We had an amazing trip out with Ocean Odyssey on their Marine Eco Tour yesterday. I've been out to sea in this area a few times before but clearly not with someone who knows the seas and coastline like our skipper Johannes. Apart from the sea life one of the highlights for me was Needle Caves that reach 200m deep into the Western heads which I never knew about. To top it off you are given a warm towel afterwards for your hands and face, a first on any adventure for me! Thank you very much to the Ocean Odyssey team.
