We took the longer but more gentle 8km walk which was manageable without a great level of fitness. Walking amongst these giants is so good for the soul.

How special to marvel at this charming forest, full of ancient wisdom. There are so many beautiful walks and roads to travel through. The museum about the foresters is worth a visit to learn about the history and the effect humans had / have on this area. Highlight for anyone who enjoys nature.

Highly recommended for lovers of forest camping, hiking and cycling. The staff were friendly and responsive, the deck was clean and the ablutions were well serviced. I recommend cycling along Oom Kom se Pad for forest bathing in deep indigenous bush. The Big Tree is well worth a visit for a moment of awe and wonder

What a great camping spot in the woods. Bring your own tent or use their structure but what a night or two in this spot would do for you! You must like hiking and nature to be here-I love it !

Went for a day visit. 1. Road route from N2 to get there not sign posted at all until right to the end. 2. Tea room not open. 3. Would not recommend unless a die hard camper/hiker 4. Beautiful setting but we will not do a return visit.

Strange place, we had a reservation for a tent, arrived 5pm, departed 9am, never saw a single staffer. No way to get into our tent accommodation. Slept in our van. A rate SANpark FAIL. The forest was great though.

We walked the white elephant trail, as people who do not hike we enjoyed it a lot, though the walk got steap in the last km and we struggled a bit more! But the walk is absolutely beautiful and safe, passing the campsite. A must-do when in knysna!

Hikes the While Elephant Trail, approximately 9km, gravel road sections alternate with bush trails, undulating and shaded all the way. Beautiful indigenous forest, birds, ferns, wild mushrooms, a joy all the way!

Stunning. The 3 elephant walks are in the forest and vary slightly in distance. We did the red trail, which is the shortest and most (not very) difficult of the 3. It is not technical at all with only a few hills. Definitely recommended.

Started off 7 km red elephant trail but about half way we came to a fork with only a white elephant arrow to the right so had to turn back. I took photos and showed the lady on duty at the office and told her to get more accurate signage. We struggled with the climb back home because if this.

What a brilliant getaway! Magic spot, we camped and everything was clean and functional. Loads of historical short walks and visits in the area. *Be aware of the monkeys when camping they like to visit your site and take anything not put away properly.

It's amazing to find such a hidden gem in South Africa!!! Camp in the Diepwalle forest is such a blessing to escape from whatever bothers you in your daily life. We spent three nights there and plan to come back when kids can hike longer trails.

Beautiful indigenous forest with an interesting little museum about the woodcutters, elephants and the conservation efforts made by certain people to keep the forest pristine. We wished we had taken a picnic with us as there were lovely places to eat a rustic lunch and enjoy the scenery.

The rest camp is a rough campers dream. Prepare properly of u want to enjoy the experience. The setting is beautiful with lovely walks to go on. If you are not a hiker you may be a bit bored. The ablution are very average. If you take a stand with a tent already on it, prepare for an uncomfortable night's sleep, the mattress on the bed is awful.
