The location of the hotel is very good and the rooms are good too. However few improvements required and they are as follows: 1.Breakfast menu is limited . 2. Most of the staff need customer service/communication training . Hope see the improvements in near future.

DONT WASTE YOUR MONEY ON THIS PLACE!!!! The view is the only reason i can even give it a star! Rooms outdated and worn. We got a dirty mattress full of stains for cot we requested. The service is highly lacking. Breakfast sucked, it was cold and anything you asked for would take atleast an hour, even just asking for butter. If you don’t ask for the other breakfast options you don’t get it. Staff may aswell be non existent! The only thing 5 star about this place is the price. Please don’t make the mistake we did, find another establishment to spend your money on. I wouldn’t even call this a hotel!!!!!

This is our second visit to Pezula and always has been our 'go-to' retreat place when going on our garden route. My only concern is that, this place has so much potential that is can do and provide and wish that Pezula takes the suggestions for such changes. 1. Staff are friendly and supportive, but need to be trained for customer service. Customer service is vital and the staff need to understand that if they are not interested to work, there are many others that would like to work and put efforts. 2. Concierge that can help visitors fix up an itinerary in their staff and actually help them out with bookings and special Pezula visitor discounts 3. Longer hours availability for spa/massages for their guests because they are going to be out and about in their stay so closing around 4-6pm is not helpful at all. as a hotel/resort, it must be available until (at least) 12am closing time. 4. Shop that sells Pezula's items such as their bathrobes which is amazing and super soft and many people would actually love to get such items as a lounge wear. 5. More club cars to assist clients to going/and coming between villas/suites/lobby 6. Understanding the fact that each suite holds 2 people so there should be 2 sets of towels and 2 sets of face towels and 2 sets of everything. We stayed in a suite and both myself and my sister had to use 1 towel 7. picnic that is set by Pezula needs to be advanced and actually allow the customers to be enjoying the picnic and not have them to be setting up their own picnic. We are after all paying for the picnic so might as well have staff that set up the picnic and clean up the picnic once it is done. Wishing Pezula team the best and hopefully they improve!

Very good luxury resort. Excellent views to sea and Knysna logoon. Good place to relax and enjoy the beutiful nature, far from noisy cities. You feel like that you are in the forest, but in luxury accomedation. Note that you need a car to stay in this hotel.

Lovely hotel. Would have been 5 stars except for the fact that the staff in the dining area are very slack. My plates piled up next to me as I finished each course and I eventually had to get up and place them on an empty table next to me.This happened twice at breakfast and at dinner. The rest of the staff especially the gentleman that drives you to your room in the golf cart were very good.

Hello, the place is great, but it needs more cleaning, and the breakfast needs to be changed. Thank you.

Pezula is a lovely hotel. The property is quite huge. The rooms are excellent. The rooms with the lagoon view have the best views., especially the sunset views!!! 😍😍 The only downside..which was a big negative..was their hotel staff ..they were not at all warm and welcoming..it felt as if they were forced to host us. They were very rude and not very helpful either. They seemed short staffed as well.. Our rooms were quite away from the reception..so we had to call for a buggy every-time for our parents. The buggy’s rarely ever came..and when they did..they took at least 15-20 mins to come..despite our repeated request for our parents who could walk so much..no one cared. If they improve the quality of the staff and their attitude towards the guests..then this hotel would be the best stay one could have!

Shocking experience, would definitely not recommend pezula to anyone. We just left this hotel today instead of leaving the following day, We had to cut our trip short because of the terrible service. Check in time already late and our room was not ready, the food was horrible rather eat out, the staff has poor service. We got a snake in our room and the management didn’t even bother to come and check how we are doing. Our trip was truly ruined because of this hotel. Can’t say il be coming back.

This is a beautiful serene venue with a lot of activities. Our room was beautiful with an ocean view. I was really disappointed that an establishment like Pezula did not have sufficient back up power during load shedding, as you cannot use any appliances. I had just been to their amazing spa and had to attend dinner with wet hair. To make matters worse, there was a water outage from 6pm until 11am the next day and the hotel only gave us courtesy of 30 mins additional time, to check out. We had my birthday dinner at the establishment and the waiting times during meals were exceptionally long. My husband had ordered a cake from the chef in advance and there was nothing, not even an apology. Personally, having spent so much on one night, I expected a little more from the hotel establishment. No water and no electricity is not fun.

Beautiful location. Service is iffy. Some staff were super friendly and helpful, others were not. The king bed had an indent in the middle which was not very comfortable. Breakfast selection was not great. Wifi was an issue. It was on and off and a very helpful gentleman had to come to reset it every now and then.

Extremely pathetic, in the span of our 4 night stay from 14 May to 18 May. After reaching the hotel on 14 th May we were extremely amazed with the views and the rooms, they were beautiful, however it is only truly said that dont judge a book by its cover. 2 days into the stay I had my hair straightner stolen from my room. After using it on 16th May it was left on the dressing table along with other things, we were out during the span of the entire day and came back late at night, when checked the next day on 17th May, it was missing from our room and nowhere to be found in the room or all the luggage. After complaining in the morning about the missing item, no action was taken during the span of the entire day. After looking at so many good reviews we thought it would be nice to spend our valuable time here, but who thought the hope of a lovely stay would turn into this. After an experience like this I would never recommend this hotel to anybody ever. Extremely disappointed with the way we were treated here.

I think this hotel was pretty good 5 or 10 years ago, because I can confirm you that it's not a 5-star hotel at all! This hotel is falling apart. A lot of renovation should be done and quickly. The fabrics on the restaurant armchairs are torn. Room carpets are stained, door handles stick in your hands, pool tiles are peeling. Room shutters are falling down. It's a disaster! The service is slow and the staff unsmiling. And to top it all off, whenever there's a power cut, it's impossible to keep warm. Cold top, no hairdryer and very little light in the resort, even though we're told to watch out for the baboons. I wouldn't recommend this place.

On the plus side the rooms are big and the location is beautiful on lovely grounds. That's all it has going for it. While rooms are big, the furniture is outdated and we had broken sinks, a cracked bath and a burnt carpet amongst other things. The room was not particularly clean either. The service is lacking and staff do not go out their way, in fact it seems they don't really care. Breakfast was very disappointing with not much selection, plates not clean and unappetizing. Wouldn't recommend Pezula.

I was hesitant about booking this place but it’s the best decision I made. There is no better accommodation than Pezula in Knysna. The views are breathtaking, room service was excellent and breakfast exquisite. The place is a little outdated in terms of style but it’s well maintained, the rooms are clean and functional. Nothing was broken. We had problems with WiFi connectivity, we barely had signal in our room. The steam room wasn’t working for 5 nights and ordering dinner at night took over an hour.

Absolutely disappointing. After having great expectations of our stay at this picturesque venue, the rooms were old with broken blinds, doors and lights. The breakfast area was unimpressive with staff giving reluctant hello's. There was visible dust on tables and the place looked as though it was in the middle of a revamp and was partly being used as a store room. It screamed "no leadership!" There were no cushions on the deck chairs and the deck looked as though it hadn't been polished in years. Highly disappointing for a 5 star establishment! It would take a lot of convincing to bring me back.

The place is luxurious and has a great ambiance and the room was spacious , however the room had a weird smell and the water was not clean at all . Some of the staff needs to learn how to deal with the visitors properly , the waitress at the restaurant was very rude and she ignored everything we asked for . It is really disappointing how a place that looks this good has these flaws .

Awful service,, utterly inexperienced staff. Called for a box of matches four times to get a fire going, nothing! Plugs in the room not working. Breakfast is a disaster, wait 30 minutes for coffee and no recall of a breakfast order. Sadly, despite the location, the place is a disaster

We spent four days in this hotel, the view from the room was breathtaking and the location is very good. The only issue we faced is the cuts of the power for more than two hours every day as well as the closing of the kitchen at 10. I believe most of the staff expect the breakfast supervisor (Juta) need improvement in their communication skills and customer service They used to clean the room without refill it with coffee or water. I will definitely recommend this hotel for honeymooners they really can relax and have good memory without electricity.

We stayed in this beautiful hotel for over 2 weeks. The staff are very very friendly and accommodating. The suite was nice, although some of the furniture was a bit dated, but the bed was very comfortable and we slept very well. The golf course is a dream, we played almost every day and couldn't get enough of the view. We will definitely come back again.

On websites Pezula advertises that their hotel is ‘child friendly’ or ‘family friendly’ but the experience we had was none of these. Children are not allowed in the steam rooms, saunas or gym. Even when they are not booked and they are EMPTY! We were told the children are too young to go into the gym and we were kicked out when there was not one person there! Wouldn’t recommend coming here with kids! This accommodation is more for golfers or adults!

Tell me how this hotel was down graded to a 3 Star but still markets itself as a 5 star hotels. Terrible service and would never come back.

Terrible, cold shower in the morning. Poor electrical back up. 2 star breakfast standard, our 2 nights at Pezula was a nightmare. No house keeping, rooms are very ashy as well.

Unfortunately this place has gone DOWN Whilst the rooms are clean and the views are beautiful, it’s just not as luxurious as it used to be. Service is poor, so is the food, and the private beach is hard to access and no service. The spa is very tired and old school. Such a pity because it used to be a gem

Poor service. Check in time already late and our room was not ready by 15:00pm and we booked the hot tub room… after check in we where told the tub is not working and we have to pay R400 extra for the hot tub. We checked in 45mins later and I asked them to call the manager… The receptionist asked us if we loved alcohol??? No guide in how to use the tub nothing, breakfast was terrible, waiters swearing to each other u can hear them from the kitchen…. Outside pool was so dirty…. When I checked out the printed bill of drinks of that I didn’t even drank……. It’s a 0 Star hotel

Absolutely speechless!! Marizaan is beyond five star - she really paid attention to detail was so helpful from the booking process to the treatments to the communication and beyond. I highly recommend her at Pezula , I would definitely recommend and keep going back to see her whenever I’m in Knysna.

Dirty room kettle not working. Food spills from previous guest on chair. Shower tiles mould dirt build up To date no phone call from GM of the hotel. I will never recommend the Pezula to anyone. Struggling to get my money back . Service poor and dissappointing

Went on my first year anniversary and was completely mind blown by my view from the hotel reception at 1st glance. Rooms are quite big. Pools were amazing. Breakfast was superb especially the croissants. Saturday night we ordered room service and their prawns and Calamri was to die for. Wife had the Chicken burger which was of high quality as well. Took a drive to Plett for the elephant park which was 15 minutes away and then onto the Wolf Park from there. Then onto George Wildlife park on our way home Sunday. Pezula and it's nature will take your breath away along with the 5 star service the staff provides. Will definitely go back anytime.

First of all if you are Indian and pure vegetarian then there is no option for any veg.food so if you planning for stay hear plan with any Indian tour operator who provide goods veg food. Secondly Staff behaviour is not at all good, not friendly Reception response is very late in any emergency When we stay there In My father's room in early morning fire alarm ring at very loudly and they get distrub and call to reception but they trying since early 4:30 a.m not any one answered or come to solve the ringing fire alarm bell.if there is really any emergency happens and you call to reception no one ones there to save you. So these is very bad experience. We have veg.Breakfast there but no veg options are there all three days same things they provide And they even can't provide Tea or masala tea this is terrible to any Indian. Property was Good, very huge and Green covered every part. Ambience was nice but due to garden and pond area there are many kinds of flying insects and mosquito so be aware for this and in Africa mosquito are very dangerous. So for me and for my family if any one say there is free accommodation in Pezula Nature Hotel & Spa in SA I am not going there again in any condition. Thanks Hope you have great experience.

The staff at the hotel is very friendly, food is average, the spa and its amenities are great. We were allowed to occupy the space next to the fireplace and had so much fun.

  • 1/5 Thembi Z. 1 year ago on Google
Service was horrible, definitely not 5 star service. Rooms were not properly cleaned, dirty robes with make up stains, dirty utensils and dishes. Service at the restaurant is beyond horrible, I have no words to describe it. You have to ask for ask for everything (more than once) , and they take forever to bring. Breakfast options very limited, same thing everyday.

  • 5/5 Refilwe M. 1 year ago on Google
Pezula was gorgeous. The service was great and the suite was clean and beautiful quite spacious aswell. The food was okay but I'll have to say that sometimes service at the restaurant is slow but all in all we had a wonderful stay. Definetly worth it and we'd come back.
