A great place to stay for short trips. The staff were lovely and the room was spacious. We had a great view of the lagoon and the complimentary breakfasts are fantastic.

I would recommend the restaurant, great service by the best staff, very friendly and accommodating and the food was great. Loved the various options and selection. Will visit soon!!!

The service I received at the protea knysna was fantastic. The rooms are always clean and have all you need inside. A backup generator is always great and everything in the room works on generator power. Is a nice touch as I have stayed in many hotels in the area and some have only the essentials working in the room. Well done protea.

Nice and clean. Great location with rooms with all you need. Everything works when load shedding is active. Breakfast is standard but still great. Two downsides are no dinner services but can order from surrounding restaurants to deliver and you need to pay for parking when parking in the hotel parking. But will still return and I visit regularly

Most beautiful property in Knysna on waterfront. We had booked suite room and all I can say is that it is one of the best suite room I have ever been to. The kitchen was well equipped , barbecue station in open terrace, music system was also good. The only minus point was very few vegetarian option in breakfast.

Rooms are small, but nice and clean.... Service is Average and the location is good 😊

Unfortunately, I was not given any special treatment despite being a gold member. Two queensize beds were not appropriate to be given to a couple like us without asking whether or not this was fine. Very loud rooms. Average breakfast. Nice location.

We really had a lovely experience in knysna. Lots of activities on land and sea. The hotel staff is very friendly and the breakfast was scrumptious.

It’s ok to stay there. But for the price you get better hotels. In comparison This was one of the worst Marriott & Protea hotels we have ever stayed. Room was very small and facing to the busy touristic street, above the souvenir shops. The rooms with lagoon view might be much better. No complimentary water in the room. Plus: you can walk to all restaurants

One of the top Protea hotels. We were so impressed by the location, views and facilities. Right in the heart of the Knysna lagoon you get uninterrupted views of the harbour. Our room looked over the gorgeous pool. The service was very good. Constantly cleaning the pool, the rooms were perfect and front desk staff were nice and accommodating of our early check in. I will definitely be back to this location again.

Difficult to find during liadsharing but comfortable and well situated for some good restaurants. A pity we had to pay for parking.

I booked for a weekend to end my honeymoon at this protea hotel. It's the first time I stayed over in one. I've always heard that the protea hotel was very luxurious and THÉ hotel to stay in. But after that weekend and the amout of money I paid. It reminded me of the cheaper City Lodge. Outdated and old I've booked via Momentum Multiply as I got discount on a room for 2 guest. I have a printscreen that proofs my quote I got and paid for. Momentum gave me false information as it was actually just for me alone. When I got at reception I had to pay extra for my wife. When I got to the room it was two single beds with a view to the back street, and above the generator. If I have known it was going to be like this I would've booked somewhere else. The only nice thing I can say is thay the buffet breakfast was nice and that I got a bottle of JC Le Roux as a gift when I said it's my honeymoon.

We have stayed a few times before but the first time with all the kids. Very welcoming staff especially the one porter. We didn't catch his name though.

Great location. Rooms are a little small and breakfast area is a bit compact and can be quite chaotic, we went during festive season so understable.

I had an amazing time at this hotel, they started me off with a complementary bottle of sparkling wine and a welcome note. The staff was friendly and the service was great. Im definitely coming back here and going to stay longer on my next visit.

Pretty unimpressed by guest services. Location is excellent but staff is not courteous unlike a good hotel staff should be. Would have loved a more welcoming staff.

Service excellent from staff. Nice view over Knysna Lagoon, and Waterfront. Breakfast buffet is amazing with huge variety to choose from. Rooms is neat and comfy, however television service outdated with only 2 movie channels to choose from DSTv and SABC.

Lovely experience here. Great location in Knysna with beautiful views of the dock. The breakfast was consistently good. Maybe only thing missing is a fitness centre for me.

The hotel 🏨 is very much clean and comfortable. My stay was so peaceful and the staff members were welcoming. I will definitely come back to this hotel and will recommend anyone to visit the place.

Well run hotel, staff are friendly, rooms are cosy and you’re very fortunate if you can get a lagoon view. The hotel was very busy during peak season, it did hamper the service a little, but was still manageable. Internet speeds are not great, but due to no fibre available in the area, hopefully this changes soon. Paul the GM was very accommodating and tried to assist where he could.
