What an amazing stay at Villa Afrikana. Amazing views. We were absolutely pampered this weekend by hotel staff. So attentive to food and drinks needs. They even had suggestions, maps and brochures for places to visit. The owners are friendly and made the time to chat to us during checkout. Couldn’t have asked for more.

Wow! Bianca and Ross are so amazing, their staff are so cool they looked after us so well. Beauty , Lovemore, Ona, Blossy, Talent and all the other staff were so accomdating. Their breakfast options were so awesome and the way it was presented made it even more spectacular. Every night they would do a "turn down" to make the room cosy. When we got back from dinner, there would be a special suprise in our room from chocolate, nougats, roses and many more, It was so exciting to see what they would leave for us every night.

We arrived at 7.30 pm hungry and tired and the staff was not willing to provide food. After threatening to complain they finally relented and gave us something to eat. No elevator service available There is no porter service available if you have to leave early Our bags had to be packed the previous night and they were sent to some garage so we had no access to them. This is by far the worst experience of my stay in South Africa and I would not recommend this place to anyone.

Villa Afrikana in Knysna is a true gem of a boutique hotel. From the moment you arrive, you are immediately taken aback by the stunning views of the Knysna Lagoon that the hotel has to offer. The hotel's thoughtfully designed interiors, coupled with its modern and clean rooms, make for a truly memorable stay. The attention to detail in the decor is impeccable, with beautiful works of art that are tastefully displayed throughout the hotel. The overall ambiance of Villa Afrikana is one of sophistication, and it is evident that the owners have gone to great lengths to ensure that the guests' experience is nothing short of fabulous. The staff at Villa Afrikana are exceptional, and they go out of their way to make sure that you feel right at home. They were very knowledgeable about the local area, and they recommended some great places for us to visit and shop. We found their recommendations to be spot on, and it helped us get the most out of our visit to Knysna. What really made our stay at Villa Afrikana special was the room upgrade and bottle of champagne that they provided us for our honeymoon. It was a lovely touch that we really appreciated. All in all, Villa Afrikana is a must-visit boutique hotel in Knysna. From the stunning views of the lagoon to the well-appointed rooms and exceptional service, it's clear that the owners have put a great deal of thought and care into creating a truly memorable experience for their guests. Highly recommended!

Everything was perfect. The service, rooms, pool, food, hospitality all superb. A true gem from which to experience beautiful Knysna.

Beautiful suites with amazing view from everywhere. The staff were very friendly and accommodating. The service was impeccable with attention to detail. We were greeted with wet towels to refresh ourselves and were offered drinks on arrival with strawberries brought to our room. Wonderful experience really recommend

From start to finish the staff were incredible and so hospitable. In particular, Blossom, Beauty, Tracey and team! We felt like it was one big home with complimentary afternoon tea and drinks in the evening. The breakfast was delicious and very generous. Everything was perfectly organised with attention to detail (you even get a free car wash and ironing service!). The location is perfect to tour Knysna and surrounding areas with a great view from the hotel. Could not fault this property or the staff - will definitely recommend! What an incredible experience. The staff are phenomenal, the rooms are in excellent condition, the views are breathtaking. What more could you ask for? Run by two lovely people who are warm and welcoming. Special mention goes to Blossom who was so extremely helpful and always making sure we were comfortable and well taken care of. Highly recommend!

A mix of tradition and modernity. It is so elegant and relaxing. This is a mansion that sits on the hills built in the (50's?60's?) restored and decorated tastefully. High up that it has a breathtaking view of the lagoon and the Knysna Heads, especially from the rooms on the top floors. Service is like Daniel Boulud's--the servers wait inconspicuously, anticipating your needs with each move during those long, delightful breakfasts. But it doesn't feel intrusive at all. They all know and address you by your last name. Traditional and upscale. The owners are a young couple who have been in the hospitality industry for decades and decided to open a hotel and then another. They are the modern, hip ones. Their curated guide to restaurants, places to go and things to do is really helpful! This was our favorite hotel in South Africa. Anyone staying in Knysna for a few nights should stay here!

I do not for a single moment regret anything about our stay at these premises. The suite is breathtakingly beautiful with humble and professional staff. The place was clean and tidy. The room service, heating underfloor, breakfast set up and little gifts we got everytime we went out, was just magical, thank you. I will definitely visit again and bring my friends too. Thank you Blossom, Beauty, Talent, Ayanda and the rest of the staff on duty during our stay.

Highly recommended!!! A great clean place to stay, with an amazing view over the lagoon. The service is just perfect from start to end! Especially the small things in-between, let yourself be surprised. Breakfast is made to order and very delicious. The only recommendation for improvement would be to adjust the doors, as light was coming through the door frame at night as well as every sound which was canalized through the tiled floor.

An exceptional view, beautifully appointed facilities, divine food, faultless service and friendly hosts with an eye for detail. This is Knysna at its very best; we'll definitely be back! Thank you Ross and Bianca for a wonderful experience!
