A natural paradise, right next to the lagoon. There is paved walking path which runs beside the lagoon all the way as far as the bridge to Thesen Island. Watch the Egyptian ducks as they herd their babies into the water to safety.

First of all, for a lot more than a fantastic few other places Charge, this is a let down. No sleep for 2 nights as guests have visitors over until late. Kids screaming and disrespectful grades of people partying till late. Cars leaving at all hours, hooting. The pool is overrun by kids who pee in the gardens and scream. The photos are also manipulative, as cabins seems private and open. The real fact is they are condensed and very tightly packed . We booked adjoining cabins, which were guaranteed, but this also didn't happen. The sauna is nowhere to be found, the jacuzzi seems broken. The couch is not clean, there floors are sticky and there's nothing to clean with (no one seems to come out to clean). I am sure this is not a bad place, but be sure what you are booking for. Competition from cabins on farms are tight, and there are options that are mind-blowing, with a level of guests that respect others and nature, quiet and relaxation. Staff was friendly, I hope management will find a way to beat these issues. There's a lot of potential here.

Overall good receptionist, ok lodge and clean rooms but be beware if you book a front row lagoon view room you have no fence/security as theres a public footpath right in-front of your room. We did not feel safe and couldn’t enjoy any privacy and the kids couldn't play freely outside as there were a lot of homeless people and dodgy looking characters walking past.

Knysna River Club is a vacation resort made up of Timeshare, hired units, and some owned units. The ones that are at the lagoon’s edge are not timeshare units. These are upmarket log cabins, well-furnished and well equipped for self-catering. This vacation resort is ideal if you have children as caters mainly to that age. It has a games room, swimming pool, mini golf, and bike riding. It also has a jacuzzi but that is for hire an hour at a time, but I found it too full of chlorine and made my skin itch from the chemicals thereafter. A nice lagoon walk within 30 minutes will take you to a shopping center. It is centrally located and close to many pubs offering good weekend music. It has no shops on site. If you want just a quiet holiday without lots of children, this is not the place for you. The cabins although good, in general, I would rate it 3 stars, but I had a few qualms. 1) the shower is a stand-in bath shower 2) The TV in the bedroom is a mere mirror of the lounge TV so you and the kids can’t watch different channels. 3) The TV in the lounge is very confusing to work on (and I consider myself very IT literate), and most would find it confusing. 4) If you wanted to plug in items like gaming units, it is not possible as the TV is connected to a central control box and hides all the plugs into the TV. You can only plug it into the main bedroom TV unit. The unit itself in winter was very cold and they do supply a radiator heater, however mine I did not find on the first day as was stuck behind a couch. There are electric blankets on the main and 2nd bedrooms. The Wi-Fi is unlimited and different sub-Wi-Fi are placed amongst the cabins with the same password. The Wi-Fi is slow but covers basic things like surfing the net, WhatsApp, and e-mails. But anything faster will not work well. I plugged in Netflix via an HDMI cable in the bedroom, and this someday worked, others it stopped every 5 minutes, and a buffering circle would start. The very positive point I wanted to make is reception was very well run. Before booking in they created a WhatsApp group so they can handle any questions upfront. The ladies were extremely pleasant and Helpful. The Manager even offered people to go out into the village overnight and get people something if needed. Even though I did not use it, I thought it was a nice personal touch. She even offered her mobile to all checking in on a note whilst checking so you can contact her after hours if needed if you had any problems with the cabin, TVs, etc. Not wheelchair friendly as far as I could see as steps to all cabins on both sides unless there is one reserved for disabled and I did not see it

Very nice and tranquil atmosphere. The moment you arrive You are added to a WhatsApp group and even the visitors are quick to share maybe matches or torches or whatever people request. The staff are very helpful. The cleaners did by chance happen to clean our place amongst the last which was a bit late in the day around 1-2pm but we overlooked that because we were on holiday and its not like we were expecting visitors. The kids enjoyed themselves the pool and jacuzzi and also on the bicycles. There were enough things for the kids to do and we also took them to the see the scenic views from the Knysna heads and around the town itself. Just be aware of loadsheddin, make sure you get the online schedule via Masepush or other loadshedding apps, so that you don't get caught up with an uncharged phone and nothing else to do in the dark. Make sure you take a flask as they do not provide one so that you don't sit in the dark without water for tea or coffee

We've booked here before and was beautiful the staff was friendly and made the stay a great experience. With a few years later we booked our first year anniversary celebration by them. Knysna is where we've got engaged and means a lot to us. I booked the lagoon view for it is suppose to be magical with the lagoon sight in front of you. Than all I get to see is the trees and roofs of the cabins in front of us. Little bit of lagoon view not much. For August is the rain month of the year as we know and so it rain and could not even used our porch with the table and chairs. Our porch is not fully covered with a roof like the others. The jacuzzi is not working and this was also a reason why we've booked. Sauna has been removed and than also no restaurant as it all is stated on the website. The staff was not helpful in any way all they said we can't help we are so sorry. I'm very disappointed in how they did not even try to accommodate us with the problems we had to experience.

Aside from the beautiful view, and on par rooms: I am saddened to have to leave a review of 2/5. We are in 2023; loadshedding has been with us nearly non-stop for 3 years. No effort has been made to try and mitigate its effect on your patrons. Sorry guys, but you cannot hide behind ignorance anymore.

Such a lovely place! Beautiful view and the walkway along the river is such a treat to take if you go for a walk. Loved the boat cruise. The cabin was kept clean and neat with the helpful hand of one of the staff. We unfortunately needed a doctor while we were in Knysna. The staff at reception gave us a few names. Otherwise we had a relaxing holiday.

The place is well maintained and very neat...everything is in working order. Only downside is...load shedding is a thing here..I mean it's 2023 and there is no backup plan. Very disappointing.

Very nice place for a family to stay at. The only thing that was really bad was that after years of loadshedding there is still no gas availability to cook and during our stay loadshedding was continuously during times we would generally cook and eat.

First time visit. What a lovely surprise with well-appointed chalets, good facilities and friendly, responsive personnel. Close to amenities. Most enjoyable stay!

Nice and quiet with clean rooms and well-kept gardens. It is close to the waterfront and has a jetty on the lake that you can include in your morning walk.

Enjoyed our stay...except loadshedding was a bummer...easy walk to do along the lagoon. Boat ride available to The Knysna Heads. Lots for kids to do and entertainment arranged weekly in the resort.

We stayed in one of the superior chalets and it was wonderful! The rooms are a bit to the small side and the lounge furniture not very comfy. Still its a nice and quiet stay in the hart of Knysna

Very comfortable and clean beds. The kitchen had everything we needed. It wasn't necessary to pack any dishes or cutlery. Beautiful scenery, and there was so much we could do at the Bach. Staff came in whenever we needed the place to be cleaned. Thank you for a lovely, peaceful holiday.

Basic accommodation but adequate. The cottages are very close together which was unexpected. Great location on the river but book a river view cottage to make the most of it (we didn’t).

We had such a wonderful and peaceful holiday at this place! Very close to the lagoon. Nice walkway along the lagoon. Chalets neat, clean and really comfortable. Kitchen also very well equipped. I personally just LOVE the all-white of the chalet interior!!

Very disappointed in the service and resort not sure if it was a resort or retirement village....but besides that, Was booked in at KRC for a week. And not once was our chalet cleaned after requesting housekeeping for 2 consecutive days if cleaning supplies were at my disposal I would've cleaned it myself. The bed had dust bugs or some sort or creature in it that left my body full of bump and lumps....couldn't even sleep peacefully due to scratching. The carpets and living room couch needs a deep clean as it had distinguishing strains on it. Not happy at all the the place.

This is one of our favorite destinations and my kids love it. The river club is surrounded by lots of interesting places to visit.

We loved it. There are many different things to keep in busy with. From kayaking, cycling and swimming to table tennis. Rooms were perfect and comfortable. Check in was quick and easy. All and all a stay that we would happily do again.

Very good situated. Near the Knysna heads and Harbour. It is a few steps away from the river bank. Clean, neat and spacious. I will highly recommend any visitor to stay here when visiting Knysna...

The one bed chalets are beautiful layout with enough space. Very clean. Unfortunately the towels were not so nice. Nice view over the Knysna river. Not so nice are the security. Very noisy due to public walk through.

Units are spacious, clean and well equipped, the resort is well located on the lagoon. Entertainment facilities for the family but I find it exhausting to look for coins to pay for it all the time, I also wish that during the school holidays there was an entertainment crew (bingo, pool games etc) to keep the children busy as well as solar heating for the pool for colder days.

One of the best places to stay in all of Knysna! The units are spacious, comfortable, safe and private. The kitchen was well resourced and everything was clean. It's in a central part of town so it's the perfect location to go out for dinners and see sights. The Knysna River Club has a perfect balance of having other people around that it feels like a community but also private enough to always have your own space. Service exceeded expectations, everyone was so helpful and friendly.

They could not bother to clean the place once- give fresh towels (towels old as well) no new coffee set out during the week. Extremely dissapointing -the whole world is operating with covid but theu cant put on a mask and clean the basics? As timeshare Always Did and Multiple timeshare resorts STILL does

We stayed in a 2-bedroom apartment and enjoyed our stay. The apartment was quite big and clean, the service was good. The location so close to the river is great; it's easy and nice to go for a run there in the early morning. The reason for giving only 4 stars is the very bad wifi. If you chose the place because you need good internet connection for work purposes and always get kicked out of the different networks (why not at least one with different access points?) because the signal disappears, it's frustrating and not today's standard.

We stayed at Knysna River Club the 1st week in March 2022, and LOVED it!! The staff are wonderful, from Reception to cleaning! Accommodation is very comfortable and clean. BUT, of course, the Location is absolutely beautiful! We will definitely be returning!!! May & Trudie
