Canโ€™t be trusted at all. We booked paid for a two family room weeks in advance. Only to show up to be told they have given our rooms away. The manager can not be reached in an emergency. Man just skip this place and find another place. Poor communication with the front desk at the most just shrug their shoulders and say they canโ€™t help us.

Dirty floors and uncomfortable beds; 0 atmosphere -only few people talking- but with very loud music. Stayed in a 6 dorm bed and woke up in the middle of the night because two guests had to be place in a bunk bed. The receptionist turned on the light and they all spoke very loud. The rest we all woke up and complained but nothing changed, they just continued unpacking loudly and with the lights on. Not recommendable.

No vibes at this place. Worst backpackers experience ever.. To come home after a long night out partying to find your room locked on you is a joke, I then fetched a sleeping bag out the car to find a couch in lounge and to my surprise the couches didn't even have cushions! They look gross and have holes in them.. if you like fires and the warmth of the embers find another place, they put the fires out at if someone's complains.. the parking is also really terrible and only 5 cars can fit, if you not a good driver RIP its a tight fit haha

We booked our accommodation on 11th September 2022 for 2 rooms with 7 pax. We intended to stay there tonight 27th December. We confirmed and paid in full. They decided to give our rooms away and shove us to a dorm of 6pax(?). Upon arrival they only offered a refund. We had to find another accommodation almost three hours away and they did not even pay for it. Only gave us our refund which didn't help. Derek the front guy was helping us talk to hotels near by. The manager was not available. The other manager could only offer us our refund. Horrible experience.

The mattress was uncomfortable. I could feel the slats of the wooden bed through the mattress. I woke up with back pain the next morning. NO SWIMMING POOL. The picture on their website is misleading. It has been converted into a fireplace. PLEASE take that photo down. I promised my daughter there is a pool. I could have stayed in a Guest house in the area for R70( ยฑ5$) per room per night more. Definitely my next choice. I have stayed in Wilderness backpackers before and had a better experience in a 12 bed dorm than in this double room. The only reason I booked here was that they offered me two single beds. Since I had a car the location was of no help. I was promised that we are the only once using the bathroom and left our personal stuff there, only to find out the next morning the staff were also using the bathroom. If you do consider staying here make sure you do not get the 2 rooms below the bar. No view as nice as in the pictures. You are almost under ground. Windows looking out on a dilapidated wooden fence and sliding door unto a wall 1.5m from the door.

Had the basics, good staff, clean ect. BUT HAVING CCTV DOESN'T MEAN YOU OR YOUR BELONGINGS ARE SAVE. We had a break-in on the second night of my stay, my and others travelers stuff got LOOTED. Of course there is that form thing you sign that makes the owner not liable for any damages,R8k in damages in my case. Security compared with Island vibe Jeffrey and PE was none existing.

Amazing hostel in Knysna with a pleasant atmosphere to meet other fellow travellers. Staff including Derek were friendly and super helpful. Dorms and bed were comfortable and neat. Really enjoyed our stay.

Was a nice stop to re-charge after a long trip. Friendly staff and clean rooms. Just no aircon in rooms, but understandable for the price

Cost are false advertising on web . Rats in kitchen . Noise till late . Very unsatisfied for the cost involved.

We didn't plan on stopping here on our #travellocalwithcee journey, but boy are we glad the travel gods sent us. We had an amazing stay in a private ensuite room, for three days with the team at Island Vibe Knysna. From the first evening, where we sat around a bonfire and listened to the beautiful sounds of the Coffee Bay Drum Crew to being able to use the kitchen even during loadshedding because of their gas stove. The Node - Plant Based and Vegan cafe is in walking distance, as is Spar, Woolworths, PnA, several Bank branches and The Waterfront. We actually walked from The Waterfront to Thesen Island and back one day and it's was super easy and we got stunning views of the Knysna ocean/river. Definitely a must stay property if you're in Knysna and looking for helpful, friendly staff, chilled accommodation and a trustworthy backpackers. With love from @ CeecesTravel

NEVER AGAIN! The place is built around a central recreation area, where all the room windows open to. Where the 2 young managers of the hostel decided to blast music suddenly at 2:30 AM, with their friends. To make things worse, in the morning after a long night of screaming shouting and smashing bottles, when we asked for towels, they gave us 1 for the four of us! #hospitality

This hostel is one to skip. The pool is very small and the setting lacks a garden. Rooms did not have any cross breeze and were quite hot. No garden or charm. The bare basics and the staff did not meet minimum cordiality test. Like I said- do yourself a favor and skip this place. Beach is too far away to access on foot.

For the main backpackers, one star: very cramped, very limited facilities, limited parking, wouldn't recommend it. For the 'villa' around the corner where the private rooms are, 3 stars: it's essentially a three bedroom house with a lounge, kitchen and garden; nice experience overall and good location, friendly staff.

Its very good. The people running the place are so good. One feels at home here. People who come there live in harmony and as one family Particularly Knowledge, he knows his stuff. He welcomes visitors well. He is so helpful. He runs the place like his. You see him at the car park and everyway. Im going to recommend more people to book here

Friendly staff, but the place is very noisy to the point where we could hear the toilet being flushed in the next door dorm and a party in the backyard until 4AM. The beds smelled mouldy and weren't comfortable, but if you're on a low budget it's easy to consider these downsides a part of the backpacker experience.

Very friendly staff. Easy going on. Something has to be renewed about cleaning and maintenances but i give them a positive feedback For the atmosphere , the free parking and for the guy who works there who is a very nice person. Thank you guys , I am going to ISLAND VIBE at Jeffreyโ€™s!
