What a great bunch of guys running this outfit. Brenton isn't bad either. Best value for money ever. Steve is a rock star. If you haven't spent a week on Knysna House Boats, you haven't lived. Peace, Tranquility and Bells Whisky makes for an awesome experience...!

The boat was nice, generally in good condition. There was a leak or two that got our stuff wet and the stove and oven had certainly seen better days. The shower was surprisingly comfortable, and the linen top notch Egyptian Cotton. The boat comes with a generous number of pots, pans and plastic ware. Even for a family with three boisterous toddlers it was a nice week stay. We'd certainly recommend it, even for families.

Me and my husband enjoyed it tremendously. I would definitely want to do it again. A bit pricey but the experience was lovely. You have all you need on the boat. It was lovely to be that close to the water and driving around taking in the the breathtaking views with wind and sea spray in your hair.

A great experience! Clean, well equipped boats which are comfortable and easy to handle. Staff that are super friendly and very helpful! The evening mooring spots are lovely and protected from most of the wind. A great getaway which everyone can enjoy, my 6 year old loved it! We will be back for sure 😁

A great experience to say the least. Overnight areas are quiet and very very scenic. Driving the boat is rather easy. Living on the boat is nice with all amenities on offer. Beds are comfortable but small, I am 6.2 and just squeezed in. At booking in, staff are friendly. We had an amazing time.

Such a wonderful experience, Can't wait to do it again! It is worth every second! Knynsna Houseboat - MORNING STAR! ☺ Awesome experience to captain your own boat, great fishing and facilities on hand that make it easy and convenient. Chilled enviroment, fishing from the deck of the boat is wonderful. The surrounding views are amazing and the most incredible star gazing captivates you into the early hours of the morning. Sun tan off the roof and dip in the cool waters afterward....so rewarding. The service staff, like Steven are wonderful to chat to and make the boating experience incredibly easy and pleasant. 😕 On the downside, Cutlery could have been better quality. Very difficult to fillet fish with broken knives. Had a few small bugs running around on board after dark, fumigate or supply bug spray for those unwanted critters! It would also be nice to have a 12 volt charger supplied or atleast inform the customer to bring along their own before boarding and sailing out. Gas geyser was a little tricky to get a regulated temperature for showering....you have two options or super hot or freezing cold. Please update the charter office address as it took us a while to find the place where we needed to check in.

It has been a long time dream of mine to stay over on a house boat and it did not dissapoint. The staff was friendly and organised, our every need was catered for. The Knysna lagoon is an amazing place and we had the most awesome time experiencing it.

If you haven't skippered a boat before, you might want to watch the competency video twice so that the supplied reading material makes sense. The boats are clean & well maintained. Just try no get stuck in a sand bank. You'll have to get out the boat and push it out. Don't damage the motor. Gary will charge you for the repair & probably hold your deposit.

2 star experience as boat uncomfortable and limited area on the lake to go on with limited access at certain times at high tide. No food and pay in for fuel. Shore based toilet and shower substandard with no soap supplied. . Not worth that price unless you are a hard core camper and don't mind other boats rocking the hell out of your boat as they wizz past. On a positive note. Great staff working there like Tozi and Stephen. Might be worth it if the price was lower for the experience but certainly not 5 star price

Going on one of these houseboats is quite an adventure. A definite tick off our bucket list. Andre was quite helpful in advising the rules, Steve was an absolute gem with helping us docking the boat and off-loading our luggage. Brenton was very patient in explaining the ins and outs of the boat. All around an amazing experience!
