We had the BEST three days at Forest Valley Cottages! The location and views are stunning and the rooms are wonderful. We went on the hike on the property and the path was quite overgrown but was enjoyable nonetheless. We also made the most of the stunning pool! I would definitely recommend this accommodation.

Absolutely beautiful views! The room was perfect, clean and had anything you could think of that one would need, from an iron to a hair dryer, insect spray, you name it. I would definitely recommend this place if you want to escape from the world and just appreciate the beauty of nature!

My husband and I stayed in the Birdsong cottage and we were blown away by the magnificent views, peace and tranquility from the cottages. The cottages are perfectly tucked away in the forest giving you the feeling of being secluded in nature yet are modern, very luxurious and fully equipped. There are multiple hiking trails and I’d highly recommend a morning hike - the views are worth the early rise. Mark is also such a gem of a host; friendly, accommodating and fun. I’d highly recommend Forest Valley cottages for those looking for a getaway to escape the rush, relax and rejuvenate!

Birdsong cottage has the most amazing view overlooking the Reenendal forest. The staff is friendly and informative, and the location is ideal for someone looking to get away from the hustle and bustle of the city.

What an absolute gem! From the 1st interaction with Mark, to an absolutely stunning cottage with small and special attention to detail and breathtakingly beautiful views (and we loved the jacuzzi!!) We spent two nights at Blue Sky cottage as part of our honeymoon, and were absolutely blown away by this incredible place! We couldn't have imagined a more romantic getaway. The cottage is secluded, well appointed and beautifully decorated, and the views from the Jacuzzi are magical. The staff were so friendly and helpful, and gave wonderful recommendations of places to eat in the area. We loved our stay here and really hope to be back!

My Husband and I booked three nights stay in Earth Rose for our honeymoon. What a lovely cottage and it is very private. The fire was packed every morning, ready to go. Rechargeable lights ready to go for when there is load shedding, but throughout the peak times of load shedding, they turned on the generator. The spa bath with a view over the valley was just amazing. Very well equipped self catering cottage and the cottage was very clean. The view from the deck is just breathtaking. We wish we stayed a little bit longer.

We spent 4 magical nights in the Wild Iris unit for our honeymoon. It was so worth it! Mark gave us a very warm welcome and gave great recommendations of things to do in Knysna. The views were amazing! The unit was beautifully furnished with a big bath overlooking the forest. We braaied on 2 nights and wood was provided. The unit was very private. We were actually sad when we had to leave as we enjoyed the peaceful setting so much. The generator helped greatly and we could not hear it from our unit. We really enjoyed the Nespresso machine, but would have loved more pods as we only got 4 for the 4 nights. There is a hiking trail on the premises, but it is slightly overgrown. We would recommend this place to anyone and we will definitely be back...Hopefully bring our children there one day as it was such a special place for us.

This is a truly beautiful place to stay. Everything was perfect. Mark (the owner) sent us the gate code and loadshedding schedule before we arrived, so we were well prepared. Fantastic place to spend your honeymoon !

It has breathtaking views, a comfortable and cozy private unit with AC and room service, and a short drive away from all the attractions that Knysna offers. We’ll be damn sure to stay here again should we come this way.

We had to have a much needed breakaway and this was the perfect place and environment. The location , room service , the staff etc was outstanding. We could unwind , enjoy the beautifull scenery and walking trail not even to mention our jacuzzi tub on the deck which was amazing. Thank you Mark for sharing your piece of heaven with the outside world. Keep up the good work , we will def be back soon ♡

Absolutely stunning place, beautiful scenery, really great facilities and well looked after. Peaceful, relaxing with a lovely modern feel so one can still enjoy the regular comforts of home. The host, Mark and the staff are fantastic, informative and welcoming! A definite MUST-stay! Beautiful, spacious layout and very open. All kitchen utensils and bathroom supplies are provided with supplies for insect repellent (your are in a forest) and load shedding. Parking is convenient and secure.

Stayed for 3 nights, beautiful well-equipped cottage with exquisite view of the valley and mountains, very peaceful and quiet.

My wife and I booked two nights stay in Earth Rose in mid January weekend. Lovely cottage and very private - its the little things that were the most surprising to us, the fire was packed and ready for lighting, bags of wood available next to braai (although we brought our own), bug repellent provided (yes, it's in the forrest and yes, there are bugs) etc. The cottage itself was well appointed, his and hers showers and basins, the spa bath with a view over the valley was amazing. They have a generator which they run in the morning and at night if there is load shedding, but you couldn't hear it from the cottage. They also had load shedding ready bulbs and a couple of load shedding chargeable lights. Our host was knowledgeable about the general Knysna and Sedgefield area and gave some good recommendations on things to do and places to eat out. The views and surroundings are spectacular... we did a short walk down the valley which was amazing. I honestly thought about never leaving :)

Great place to revitalize your soul, your relationship or mini vacation with your loved one. Great service all round from our host. The cottages are well kept, old school with a modern touch. Ohh and the views... breathtaking!!

This place is stunning. The Blue Sky room was beautifully furnished and neat. The views out our balcony were breathtaking. It was easy to check in. Great location tucked away from Knysna but also close enough to pop down to the stores or grab a pizza. Would highly recommend! Stargazing from the outdoor bathtub is also a must!!

This place is just worth it! It's so refreshing and really makes you feel closer to mother nature! Load shedding was an issue though as it affected everything, including water as it uses water pump. That was the only downfall but I recommend the place 100%. We got a warm welcome from Mike and very informative ❤❤❤

Wow.......what an awesome experience we had here. We stayed in Lavender Edge, the views from the balcony was beyond words. Peace and quiet guaranteed. The jacuzzi was relaxing with mountain and valley views. Mark, the owner, was on par with service and suggestions on what-to-do in knysna and surrounds. Great markets in knysna and Sedgefield, a must see on Saturday mornings

Absolutely loved our stay! Stunning cottages - you cant help but relax the moment you walk in and enjoy the comfort and the views. Well located between Knysna and Wilderness for exploring the Garden Route

Great getaway and the owner is super lovely! Stayed at one of the old cottages - new were fully booked for my dates. I'll stay at a new cottage next time. As you can imagine, an older cottage is not going to be as immaculate as a new cottage.

Spectacular view from balcony. Comfortable unit, lovely decor and private. We had a wonderful stay and lots to do in the area. Owner should cut the trees and plants in front of unit which are spoiling the perfect sunset photos. Unit needs maintenance.
