I recently visited the Blue Lagoon, also known as the Emerald Lake, at Ang Thong National Park in Koh Samui and it was truly a breathtaking experience. The Blue Lagoon is a stunningly beautiful lake, surrounded by towering cliffs and lush greenery. The water is crystal clear and has a stunning turquoise color that looks almost unreal. The journey to the Blue Lagoon is also an adventure in itself, with a scenic boat ride from Koh Samui to Ang Thong National Park followed by a trek up to the viewpoint overlooking the lake. The trek is a bit challenging, but the views along the way make it all worth it. Overall, the Blue Lagoon at Ang Thong National Park is a must-visit destination for anyone traveling to Koh Samui. The natural beauty of the lake and surrounding area is truly awe-inspiring, and the journey to get there adds to the adventure. The area is well-maintained and clean, making it a comfortable and enjoyable experience for all visitors. I highly recommend adding the Blue Lagoon to your itinerary if you're planning a trip to Koh Samui.

Breathtaking views. An hour speed boat ride from Samui. You cannot swim in it. Quite a steep hike to get to.

Such a beautiful lake. I highly recommend taking the stairs all the way down to the lake as you can see fish and sting rays through the crystal clear water.

The Blue Lagoon was the last stop of our tour in the Ang Thong Marine Park. You need to climb some steep stairs in order to see the lake but you won’t be disappointed. The color of the water is bizarre but yet very beautiful. Not bad having it as the closing of our tour.

Has some steep steps to get to the lookout and then climb down to the bottom of the stairs. Was interesting to see. Though there were a few tourist there.

Nice picturesque place though difficult to get to with very steep steps, It very popular tourist attractions and can be busy with boats.

Great view point to Blue lagoon. the stairs are a bit tiring, but you can get to the top and the lake.

Gorgeous! Unlike anything I’ve seen. The hike up the stairs was daunting but doable (applies to those without physical limitations).

Definetely worth the visit. To get to the lagoon you just need to climb around 150m above sea level, but be careful, these are very steep steps. After 10-15 mins you get to the top and see this wonder. Of course, it is a protected area, so you cannot swim or go near the water, as it is all fenced, but you can enjoy the landscape. Just take a look at the pic/vids I took and you get to decide. Last thing, depending on the travel agency that you book (we did through click2gotothailand), you can do the national park (a thougher hike to get to the top), snorkeling, kayaking, lunch, and end up here for the las hike to the Blue Lagoon. Then, you can enjoy the rest of the time they give you on the beach while waiting for the boat to go back to Ko Samui. However, this is not the best beach (rocks all over the place). It has wonderful views of the other little islands though. Alejandro

The view was nice from the top. Stairs were very steep, but the climb was very short. Would’ve loved to hike around but don’t think there was a trail.
