One of the best airports I've ever been to and I have extensively travelled across the world. It's the most unique concept of open resort like airport. It's really got the feel of a five star resort. And the prices are also like a star resort. Shopping is expensive. But there is tea coffee juices, cakes, pies for free. Also has a small library with books. Phone charging stations are also there. The only downside it, it'll be very warm in summer as it's all open air. The toilets are spotlessly clean with approx 11 cubicles and are constantly being cleaned. Also has a large fish tank with pretty fish. Staff are all super friendly and extremely helpful and will proactively offer to help.

That is one of the cutest airport on the world. Everything is open, there are mostly no windows. It starts at Check In counter and ends at the departures Gates (they have only 3). Everything is wide open and green. The only operator of this airport is Bangkok Airways. In that case you are determined to use only this airline or codeshare flights. After the check inn you need to wait up to 10 minutes if you baggage need to check twice. After that you will have a short walk to the security check. On this way you will find some little restaurants, cafes and shops as well. After the security control there are mostly only some cafes and restaurants. After that you will be driven by small buses to the airplane. NICE TO KNOW: you have the chance to do a nice video of arriving and leaving airplanes, while you are waiting at the Gate. Unfortunately I missed one. Because of the COVID restrictions there was a small Courtesy Corner at the Gate with some food and drinks.

Finally visit the famous Koh Samui! When we got off the plane, we were stunned by the beautiful and amazing view of the airport, such a nice design! We love the very leisure feeling that the designer wanted to give us. And when going back to Bangkok, after we have done the security check, the departure zone was very nice too! With outdoor zone that let us have a good deep breath for the fresh air~~ The staff are very nice and helpful too!

It’s a pleasant airport. I like it’s environment. I like fresh air. Its setting is unique. The service is good and there are gardens and trees. You may think you are being at a nice and decent resort. There are lovely shops for local sweet “Kalamare” And if you are hungry or thirsty you may serve yourself with snacks, soft drinks, coffee and a bottle of water from Bangkok airways service or hangout at a lovely place spots in the airport.

An extremely unique experience! It delivers such a pleasant experience from such a small airport!! It is almost like a small village. It is so rare to think I don’t mind going early to the airport…and considering it is NOT a world recognized hot spot with millions of travelers…sadly it SHOULD be more well known. You would do yourself a favor to take your time and enjoy it before leaving the island!!

Really nice and unique airport in Thailand. This is open air airport that very cute and comfortable. If you have enough time you should come early to take more time to enjoy shopping and chill out before takeoff 🛫

I would normally only leave reviews for an airport if I had a really good experience, or a really bad experience, but in this case I am leaving a review for the quirkiest/most charming little airport I have ever been through. Firstly it is all basically outdoors, check-in in a large chalet type building, and the walk to departure security and walk to boarding gate it all outdoors (in shade - see pictures attached). Everything just had a casual feel to it, and since there is a single airline (I believe - Bangkok airways) everything is very smooth. We got there 90minutes before our flight to Bangkok, and they asked us if we would like to take the earlier flight which we accepted. Only drawback is there is no aircon. Given it’s all outdoors, it’s all fans, and it does get quite hot, guess it’s a trade off for the casual/local feel.

Great airport, mostly with outdoor areas including a garden with benches. Shops are also very nice and there is plenty of cafes and restaurants. Must be the most beautiful airport I’ve ever seen.

It lives up to its name as a boutique airport. The airport itself is small but well function and unique when compare to another airports in Thailand. The whole area is open air and it could be quite hot during the day, but the nice surroundings area is make up for it as the island airport.

Unlike any other airport i've been on, mainly because it's outside. Very interesting place to be, the scenery is nice. The only downside was it was a bit crowded before departure, the "waiting" area is a bit small for some flights. Will come again.

Striking and panoramic views. Great service. Plenty of local shops and restaurants. Beautiful garden and do have smoking area. Bathrooms are clean and air conditioned. It’s a good idea if you can get there early. Can get busy at some point. After checking in, just go walk around the garden. You will love the views.

Fun little airport with a tropical island vibe. Has all big global car rentals available, which make life easier. Looks pretty, has a lot of comfortable seating, food and shopping options, smoking areas, self check in kiosks at the entrance and neat little buggies to get to your plane.

Amazing, most chilled airport which looks and feels like a resort. After you arrive they have quite good-priced taxi options, but Grab is not yet allowed on Samui. If you fly from here - they have amazing waiting area with shops and cafes. Also gates are great, with some free snacks from Bangkok Airlines. Everything is fast and smooth.

I really like this airport. If you prompted an AI to create an airport for a lush tropical island, this is probably what it would come up with :) The whole place has a really relaxed and chill feel about it. Everything ist Open Air and laid out nicely. Plenty of tropical flowers, decorations and palm tress. There is even a fish tank on the toilets. The waiting areas at the gates are large and plenty of comfy seating is available. Additionally, there are plenty of stores and cafes to hang out in. Only downside... There is no aircon, as there are no closed rooms. But if you travel to a tropical destination, you should be ready to deal with the heat anyways :)

Probably the most pleasant airport I’ve been through. You have places for drinks and food both before and after security. Everything is in open air and so so pleasant. If you are flying Bangkok airways, they even have a place with free drinks and snacks for you while you wait.

Arriving at the airport felt like landing in a tropical resort rather than to an airport. Koh Samui Airport is beautiful. It does not have the conveniences of a modern airport, such as air conditioning. Upon landing, a bus awaits to transport you to a tent-like structure serving as the gate. From there, you step outside. It's a small, practical, and compact setup, with clear signage making navigation easy.

Laid back airport with some boutiques, restaurants and bars. Cushions under trees. Just quaint and outdoors basically. More like a small shopping outlet than an airport. Clever idea. Loved it 😎

The airport is beautiful. No walls, lots of great areas, cafes, very convenient (it’s hard to get lost here). For those who arrive there are mobile and internet providers that offer SIM cards near baggage claim area.

Koh Samui has the most breathtaking airport I've ever experienced! I couldn't believe my eyes – it felt more like stepping into an enchanting, peaceful forest than an airport. The beauty and serenity of the surroundings were simply awe-inspiring. Everything about this airport is perfect. If you have the chance, don't miss the opportunity to visit this stunning airport in Koh Samui. It's truly a remarkable and unique experience that will leave you in awe!

Very cool airport, all pretty much outdoors. Most outdoor things were shut when we were there but it was very early before a 7am flight. Nicely laid out. Most interesting gate waiting area I’ve sat in.

When departing from here, feel free to get here early as there are MANY restaurants, cafes, and shops both outside of security and inside security. You could easily spend an hour or more relaxing. There are water refill stations by the gates, so bring an empty bottle. Also, please note that the gate areas are open air, so dress accordingly if it is hot out. #travelthailand

Nice airport! Very unique open air concept (although that makes it a bit hot). Feels like a five star resort. Prices for shopping are high. But there's tea, coffee, juices, cakes, and pies available for free. It also has a small library, and there's phone charging stations. The toilets are clean, about 11 cubicles, constantly cleaned. There's also a large fish tank with pretty fish to look at. The staff are all friendly and helpful.

Excellent little airport. Based 'out doors' shops are in huts. Lots of shops, reasonable prices. You can even get a massage while you wait for your flight. Many comfortable areas to sit and relax out side and under shad.

It's one of the coolest airport in the world. Very small and with unique architecture. Just loved this. Fully open with natural air conditioning. Staff is also supportive and helpful. Only 1 luggage belt. Amazing experince of cart from terminal to flight and flight to terminal. Loved this place. Would suggest to take flight to reach Samui and take the experience this.

Very nice and quiet airport, in the green like a garden...a lot of trees and flowers... comfortable seating...there is complimentary coffee and cookies....even if the ticket flight is quite expensive by Bangkok airways...

Adorable AirPort. Nice local Architecture. No hurry. A lot of restaurants and cafes, souvenir shops with reasonable prices. Several playgrounds for kids. Even if you are 2hours before the flight you won’t get bored

For arrival passengers, Covid 19 vaccine certificate is required to show before entering to luggage hall. Very cute island airport. No air conditioning but nice breeze. There are everything you need here - shopping, restaurants, cafes, restrooms and book store. I love it in the sense that I never felt I have not left the island just yet, normally the holidays is already over since arriving the airport. Great atmosphere.

The most cutiest airport in the 🌎 world 😍. When you land or you leave the island a small open and colorful shuttle brings you to the main entrance or to the plane. Flowers and plants are everywhere. Thai typical huts are the main areas for the arrivals and departures. I love it❤

Adorable is the best way I can describe this airport, about 7 gates, quite open air for the most part and the staff are all extremely polite and helpful. I double booked myself on different flights and with a few minutes of patience and a couple questions later they had it all sorted out quite efficiently :)

Good atmosphere and greenery airport. The gate is open air with small counter for some snacks and drinks. There are many shops along the way to the gates.

Very nice, small airport on the island of Koh Samui. Only small planes of Bangkok Airways land here. Transportation from the plane to the building is transported by small open trolleys. Everything here is well organized and all staff are very friendly. The PCR testing (sandbox program) is done professionally and smoothly. A good start to the vacation.

Exceptional service. The staff at Samui Airport / Bangkok Airways were amazing. Everyone through check-in, security, gate staff and cabin crew were incredibly friendly, well dressed and highly professional. Their standards are very high. The complimentary drinks and snacks at the gate was a very nice touch, and greatly appreciated. This is by far the best airport, and best airline I have flown with. Flying really doesn't get better than this!

Most beautiful airport I’ve ever been to! Lovely a green, perfectly maintained and clean. Friendly staff. Lots of places to buy food and drink but also a fab little complementary section with coffee and snacks! I wish they were all as nice as this!
