Such an amazing resort! The architecture is so unique with the presence of actual boats and loop pools in the resort. At the same time, the resort is still so modern, artfully decorated with abundant facilities. The breakfast buffets are such a treat, and unsurprisingly the Christmas and New Year buffets are just beautiful. The staff is thoughtful, attentive and dedicated. I'm a fan!

Amazing hotel. We stayed in the two story Boat Suites and it was truly magical. Hotel grounds are lovely, breakfast is incredible. The town is cute, small and with enough bars, restaurants etc for variety. Staff are amazing. So amazing. Everything is immaculate and the beach is great. Free paddle boards and kayaks. We’ve travelled to MANY 5 star hotels and this was among the best. You can rest easy booking here for a great trip!!

In general, a beautiful hotel/resort. We've stayed in the Boat House, which was spacious and well decorated. One of the most adventures hotel rooms I've stayed so far. Unfortunately, there were some minor flaws like (1) the smell in the toilet next to the bathroom, coming from the A/C,l made using this toilet unbearable. (2) The plug-in and the night stand for the person sleeping next to the entrance are missing. (3) Some of the pillows on the outside have already started moulding. The overall environment in the resort was beautiful and was spreading vacation vibes. A lot of trees and plants were well taken care of. The pool, which was connecting all the rooms, is amazing to swim in. The beach was clean and there is enough space for all guests. The food and drinks in the restaurant are quite overpriced for what you get. For example, a coconut was more than 200 baht. The breakfast buffet has a good selection of Western food like bread, sausage, cereals. They are also offering Boat noodles. Unfortunately not in the traditional taste but rather in a very mild taste compared to what you get at local places. Unfortunately, the breakfast selection doesn't change throughout the days, so you might get boring of the selection if you stay too long. The staff is extremely friendly and supportive, having always a smile on the face.

Spent 4 nights here over years and it was one of the best hotels I have stayed in. Breakfast has so many options to keep any travller happy. Beautiful pool area and the staff go above and beyond to ensure you have a fantastic stay. Would highly recommend this hotel if you looking for a 5 star experience in Koh Samui.

Spent 4 days in this resort recently. It is wonderful. Everything about it is perfect from the moment you arrive to the moment you leave. The rooms are lovely, the grounds, pool and beach are are clean and beautiful and well curated. The resort sits on a lovely beach, shallow warm water that I never wanted to come out of. They offer free kayaking equipment, this was my first time trying that out so really enjoyed it. Breakfast is also awesome, with lots of choice. I could go on and on… wish I was still there 😀

Absolutely loved this hotel! The beach and location are amazing. Rooms are spacious and have everything one might need. We lived in a lagoon access room, if you want something more private I suggest you choose a deluxe room on the upper floors. Also don’t miss a chance and spend a couple of nights in the boat villa, as it is absolutely unique experience. The breakfast in the hotel is perfect, even a better one in the Level area, which I also i solute LG recommend. We enjoyed free evening cocktails and afternoon teas in the Level lounge. Also there are some board games that you can play.

Amazing hotel, paradise vibes there. Our room had a bit of a mould smell (the only negative) even though it looked spotless and was amazing. The staff was incredibly nice, helpful and reactive. Breakfast is really good and varied too. The hotel facilities are incredibly nice, really high standard I general. We could even take a board or kayak for free. Location is great for having a relaxed time, if you want to go to the city it's a 10 min ride with a vehicle (you need a vehicle). I have never seen such a nice swimming pool in a hotel, it's really wonderful.

A lovey property with a wonderful colour grey colour scheme that bounces off the lush green flora really well. The rooms are excellent and I have no complaints at all. The breakfast, as it’s included in every rate, can definitely be better; this, by the way, is the general consensus amongst all reviewers. The staff is wonderful and the property maintenance is top notch. Fabulous stay, highly recommended.

Fantastic family resort with the best pool on the island, looping around the whole resort with 2 water slides for kids and pool bar for the adults. Rooms are well renovated and spacious. The F&B Director (Katie) was excellent and seemed to be always on duty 14 hours a day, as well as one of the friendly male poolside staff Khun Bow who was so helpful. Spanish food menu is fantastic (Thai food wasn’t as good by comparison, and breakfast could have a bit more variety). Sunday brunch was magic on the 1st Sunday of the month. Kids club is great for minding the kids, complete with free cotton candy at 4pm!

We stayed for 6 days in The Level Boat Suite and 1 day in the pool access suite. THE GOOD: First off, the resort is hands down the best layout and landscaping compared to the competing neighboring hotels: Kimpton or Sala. Lush trees, flowers and plants everywhere + a huge lazy river style pool that spans the entire length of the resort. Plus, the beach is clean with crystal clear water and plenty of shaded seating. The Boat Suite is awesome and better than anything you can get at the comparable resorts. It gives you your own mini apartment style space with garden, roof deck, 2 bathrooms and cool netted loft. Having stayed in the boat suite and the other rooms, we would not choose any other room style. The Boat Suite is the best way to enjoy the property. Secondly, the huge breakfast buffet is amazing. Truly 5 star quality and available every morning with a massive selection of fresh pastries, fruits, vegetables, and a la carte omelettes, etc. That was one of our favorite parts of the stay. Lastly, we chose the rooms with “The Level” package included which gives you access to the private Level Lounge overlooking the ocean. For the price, the level package is ABSOLUTELY worth it. It’s a small additionally daily fee but gives you a large private area where you can escape to relax. It includes free breakfast in the morning, snacks in the afternoon and drinks in the evening. We found ourselves in the lounge a lot to hang out, play games, get drinks, or go for breakfast whenever the main restaurant was too busy. It’s 100% worth it, and we wouldn’t come back the Melia unless we could get The Level package. THE NOT SO GOOD: - The gym is too small for the resort this size. They really need to expand it. There’s only a few machines and one set of free weights. It was almost always packed, so we never got to work out like we wanted too. - We we’re supposed to get late checkout, but upon check out when we asked for it we were refused. - The beach-side bar / restaurant is nice but the food isn’t very good. We ate there several times and found that while they are charging American prices… the quality simply isn’t up to American standards. There were lots of better options outside the resort.

The hotel area and the rooms are very nice but its very busy in all communal areas like the pool and breakfast, particularly with screaming kids. It's also expensive for what you get vs other hotels we stayed at on the trip. We were disappointed with our stay and tried to leave early

The hotel compound itself looks very nice and clean. The staff was motivated and most of the times helpful. BUT: We used once the bathtub on the veranda. This caused a full leakage and flooding of the balcony. Instead of not caring, we called it in and they send two technicians at 10 pm on a Saturday night, which worked for two hours. We did not have privacy or could not go to sleep. Confronting the front desk with this issue, the first assistant just said sorry. The second, after me asking for a rate discount, only offered us some drinks or spa time. At least we got a free transport to the pier. Besides that our first room was not nice and the first on the first floor, without any privacy (everybody could look into our room from the breakfast area.). At least we could change it without problems the next day. We somehow expected more from such an expensive and high class hotel…

Fantastic hotel. Highly recommend, great location right on the beach. Breakfast was included that had everything you would need. Beautiful setting. Only 15/20 min from the airport. The staff are the friendliest that I’ve ever met. Saying that Thai people all round are such lovely people and can’t do enough for you. I’d like to say a big thank you to Baw who made our holiday. He was there to sort anything that u needed during your stay and what an amazing guy. Thanks Melia, we will be back

It’s ridiculous with the poor service (called for the house-keeping to pick up the finished food, they said ok but never come, happened for two days). Food is just alright but price is expensive. Even when my husband and I were in the lounge (The Levels), the waitresses were not attentive and not wanting to help at all. Really bad experience during the stay. Only the massage at spa is great and worth to visit.

Had dinner here, food and drinks were good. Pricey for Samui. All facilities are working. The grounds are really impressive, with pools everywhere! So much water! electricity! Can't imagine the maintenance and the cost to keep it clean and beautiful! Thus it feels a bit pretentious and out of place during these times. Covid hit the island economy really hard, a lot of businesses are closed, others struggling. Hope tourists come here more and support the local economy!

Sunday, monthly buffet. A truly amazing array of top quality food, excellent staff. The day was made even better by a band with a very entertaining saxophone player and a charming thai singer. I will return here, it was such fun.. I also liked the buggy service to take you to the foyer of the hotel after one had eaten so much!

A beautiful resort with a nice beachfront restaurant and sunbeds. The pool is huge and there's also kids pool with a splash. I like the kidsclub because when we came, they have activities for kids, gave cotton candy and the mascot entertained them. The kids enjoyed much and It was fun for everyone. The food are good and the staff are nice. We came for day pass only and I recommend to visit the restaurant esp during sunset.

Lovely staff, nice facilities, great food and a clean beach. We spent New Year‘s Eve in the hotel and it was just fantastic. The whole programm was well organized and Ernesto (GM) and his team did a phenomenal job. Thank you!

I had a good time here. I’d recommend this hotel to everyone/ friends/ couples/ family. Room : clean and spacious, comfortable bed Breakfast line : various of delicious cuisines but not outstanding, the coffee and tea was ok. I loved the fresh infused water and sausages. Check in - check out was smooth with complimentary drink. Architecture in the hotel is gorgeous, cozy and relaxing 😌 Atmosphere: relaxing with a lot of green space, peaceful and quiet (inside the hotel area not the beach) Beach : the beach were nice, always busy and lively in Samui. Staff : 1. pool bar staff was very friendly and attentive, she even remembered us and greeted us politely when she met us at the restaurant in front of the beach. 😄 2. Bell boy / Birthday project staff Thank you so much for a birthday cake/card and beautiful decorations in the room, my mom was so happy💓 3.Staff at the breakfast line were nice especially the staff at the egg/noodles station. 4. Staff in hotel area who met my family also helped my mom taking lots of photos and sending us off on the last day thank you so much ka🙏 5.Front desk staff : I asked for the first aid kit so staff politely gave me the kit and that’s it. I don’t have any problem with the staff but the service would be better if the staff asked me what happened? how did you get injured? I mean a little bit more hospitality from staff would be nice) 6.Housekeeping: I requested a towel and a bottle of water, the staff came within 5 minutes. Inadequate staffing area : sun bed were a bit messy, hard to find towels / breakfast line the egg station has only one staff.

This well maintained resort with efficient helpful staff make it hard not to have a great stay. The facilities are well looked after. The loop pool is a lot of fun, the main pool is great and the beach access is easy. The airport is close by, don't worry there is no noise from the planes. The breakfast has lots of delicious options to enjoy. Just relax and find your favourite spot maybe in a hanging basket close to the pool bar.

Really enjoyed our stay at Meliá. Super clean, amazing staff, especially Baw. Thanks to all the staff that contributed to our perfect honeymoon. Amazing breakfast, plenty of choices. The restaurant for lunch and dinner super fast and great food all the time. Clan beach, clean pool. You can’t ask for more. They deserve 5 out of 5.

Wow. A truly 5 star resort. We stayed here as a couple for two nights over new year in a deluxe room on the 2nd floor. The room was spacious and quite stunning. Facilities were fantastic with shower, bath and huge bed. The balcony was private and came with a gorgeous view of the surrounding plants and lazy river. The pool is incredible with a wide variety of beds for sunbathing. Floats and kayaks are in hand for free if you wish them. The food and cocktails at the pool bar were delicious, and there is also a swimup bar. The resort meticulously cleans the stretch of beach in front where there are again loungers aplenty. We made great use of the concierge desk when there who could not have been more friendly and helpful. The breakfast was a particular highlight. Many stations to cater to all tastes. Try the banana pancakes. I must add special mention to the spa, where I had the best aromatherapy massage I have ever had. Truly a fantastic experience. I could go on, there were so many highlights to this stay.

My rating would be a rounded up 4.5 stars. Top notch service and facilities, best breakfast in a Thai Hotel I had so far (also compared to other 5 star hotels). All staff did their very best at all times (even the security guards) and were trained professionally. I need to point out the flawless check in process, this is how a guest feels comfortable from the start. You get a cold drink, no waiting in line and all is done at your table. We loved the pool bar and happy hour which are perfect to escape the afternoon heat. The beach is also super nice and great for a swim. We received a free upgrade to the boat room that had an impressive bathroom and all amenities that we could wish for at the ground floor. Now the few things I did not like: I am not sure why there was no minibar in the room, something that should be standard in a hotel of this range. Also I was missing a pricelist for the room service and spa, to be fair there is an info channel on the TV but a separate information leaflet (at least as a qr code) would be great. We only found out about the happy hour by accident. Also I would have wished for a small table on every side of the bed with a plug. We had it only on one side. Anyway it still was probably one of the top 3 hotels in Thailand we have stayed at so far. We will definitely be back and recommend it to our friends.

Stayed for 9 night with the wife and two children aged 3 & 5 . Overall we had a fantastic stay. The children really enjoyed the pool and the kids club .The Hotel grounds are immaculate and very peaceful. We stayed in a family room which was huge. A few minor touches the hotel could improve: The service around the main pool lacked a little. We were never asked once during the stay if we required any drinks etc we would always have to seek out the staff ourselves. This was the same with beach towels and trying to find a lounger, you fend for yourself. Maybe just missing a few little touches in comparison to other 5 Star hotels we have stayed in. We still had a great stay and would definitely recommend the hotel to families.

Very clean. Amazing pool and amenities. I miss the brunch buffet! The staff is incredibly helpful. Prices of food are of course much higher than local spots but it’s all right there and convenient. Only caveat is people often “reserve” poolside lounges by leaving towels on them for hours. That’s not fair since others can’t find a seat when they’re clearly empty.

  • 5/5 Medhavi G. 1 year ago on Google
A wonderful resort! Beautiful pools and rooms and great service. The beach is also very calm at this spot. Breakfast options are also great. Staff are very helpful for anything you need. Only issue we faced is the poolside drinks and food are unnecessarily expensive. We can understand a 20-50% increase in price for the service, but cocktails and snacks and even juices are 2-3x the price of what you get in the restaurants right next door on the beach.

We were traveling around two months in Thailand and Indonesia, and this hotel/resort is by far the best place we stayed during our holiday! In one word: Superb! Breakfast is fantastic with a lot of variety. Service is fantastic, people are very friendly and willing to help. The beach and swimming pool is fantastic. The room are tidy and good isolated. The kidsclub was great for our daughter (thanks to the women working there!). If you want a relaxing holiday, go here.

The great things here were the staff and the amazing pool. The room we had was very nice with direct pool access. We thoroughly enjoyed a swim each morning. The pool is laid out a bit like a lazy river, so it is really great swimming around each corner to see what you find. The not so great things included: being their at peak time, too many kids and a few other small issues, for example our room did not have pool towels the first 2 days, the hand rail into the pool was broken, people left the odd towel or bottle around the pool and it sat there for 2 days. This is a really great hotel, but if you want real 5 star relaxation and no children stay during off peak times

  • 3/5 Patrick R. 1 year ago on Google
Nice hotel with direct beach access. The hotel just celebrated its 3rd anniversary so expect the facilities to work properly. The situation at the pool is critical though. After 10am you cannot find a space to put your towel. Many people reserve a chair and then don’t show up for hours. The hotel staff should remove unused towels after 30 minutes so as to free up space for other people. I went swimming at 5:00 pm and the water was very dirty. I could not see through my goggles more than 3 meters. So obviously the water filtration system is not designed for a pool working at full capacity. There are many families with small children here, book another hotel if you want “adults only”. The gardens are beautiful and the staff was very friendly. The room was very nice but we found the bathroom to be too small in relation to the terrace (luxury room - again, design issue). The breakfast buffet offered a wide variety of food and everything we tasted was delicious. To avoid the crowds be at the breakfast table before 9:00 am! Overall good experience but I expected more for a five star resort in this price category.

We absolutely loved our stay here in Oct 2022. We had booked a deluxe room. When we arrived no welcome drinks were provided, not anyone was there to help with the luggage. Later we got to know there was a fire drill and most staff were busy with that. Pros : - The room was really spacious with a bathtub in the balcony. There is a privacy screen that can be lowered when the bathtub needs to be used. However no bath bombs were provided. - The resort was very well maintained, the pool is huge with several seating options. - They provide canoe and surfboard free of cost. - Breakfast was not the biggest but good enough with lots of options. - Location is a big pro if you can get hold of a scooter. The hotel is midway between fisherman's village and Chaweng beach with good, well lit roads connecting them. We had no problem commuting to the hotel even at night. - A 7/11 just across the road and lots of shops, laundries and a few restaurants nearby. The only cons are : - There are no elevators, so don't know how elderly people can reach upper floors (buildings are 3 floors) - Beach has jellyfish warning (as is the case with most beaches in Samui) due to which people don't enter the waters much. - You need a vehicle to go anywhere.

One of the best hotels we have ever visited. Perfect for families. The breakfast is great, pool and a “lake” that goes through out the hotel, and the very friendly service from each staff member. Must take the family suite as it’s a huge room with kids sleeping at a separated living room. Special thanks to Mr Keng and Mr Po that made us feel like home! We will definitely want to come back!

This resort is truly amazing, definitely one of the best hotels we have ever been to, and we travel a lot. We feel extremely lucky to have chosen it to stay for 10 nights with our kids. The pool access room is just great. We really enjoyed the direct access to the huge and beautiful pool-maze and to be able to stay in the water all the way down to the beach and back again. We regularly swam/walked in the water from our room to the beach and back again which took us around 30 min with our kids, also because they loved the waterslides. The view on the tropical scenery and pool from our balcony was a unique experience every morning. Despite earlier reviews, we found the breakfast to be huge and providing many choices. We particularly liked the variety of fruits and fruit juices, the kids liked the western dishes, we loved the thaifood in the morning. We think the breakfast was larger than the months before, also because tourists are returning. The hotel seemed to be well booked now, but not crowded. The level upgrade was worth it, as we enjoyed the level restaurant every day. The staff there and everywhere is very kind. Kids loved the activities in the kids club, even after 10 days they wanted to visit it. Staying here felt like being in a self-contained little paradise that let us forget all troubles from the current crises in Europe.

Highly recommended! True Meliá excellence, luxurious, very friendly and helpful staff and overall great quality for your money. Great place to have as a base of operations for you to explore the island or to go on tours. The beach is great! And the pools are great too. The big pool is warmer than “the Loop” pool, which allows you to take a refreshing swim across the resort. If possible get a room with pool access, you won’t be disappointed. Great breakfast too!

The hotel is lovely. The rooms are very spacious, clean and equipped with everything you need. The pool access balconies are great for the kids. The staff is very friendly and helps with everything. The big pool is great, and has a lovely view of the beach and access to it. The breakfast is very tasty and has many options for everyone.

Prefect for beach holiday. Nice decoration, clean and well maintained hotel. We spend 3 nights here and really appreciate on everythings. Breakfast is super yummy, variation and good quality. You can't miss Tapas dishes. My kids enjoy huge swimming pool, beach, kayak and SUP Board. Kid club staff is very friendly. SPA service is beyond expected. I could say one of the best hotel in Samui. We absolutely come back.

My husband and I have had the most amazing stay at the Meliá! Having almost not made the trip due to an emergency we were incredibly touched when we expressed how we nearly had to cancel that they upgraded us to a beautiful boat suite. The grounds are stunning, the rooms are modern and beautiful but the common areas have been designed in a Thai themed which we love. The staff could not have been more friendly and helpful if they tried and we have to give a special mention to Baw who knew everyone’s names, took the time to speak to guests and make sure they had what they needed (all hotels need a Baw) we really liked morning yoga, the breakfast had a wide variety and good quality too! The pool is spacious and no towel gate like some places, the beach at the back of premises is clean and has access to activities and other restaurants and bars should you wish to walk around. It’s a short and affordable taxi ride to any other part of the island and the hotel can assist with any transportation needs. I would 100% stay again. If I had to give one small criticism it would be the AC facing the bed was a little drying though the night and an additional bedside table would have been ideal (but I’m splitting hairs) the place is amazing 🤩
