The only thing this hotel has going for it is the beach. The hotel is in an absolute state of disrepair. Half the pool has missing tiles which could lead to nasty cuts on your feet. The place is covered in rot and rust. Paint jobs are half done and more than half the rooms cannot be stayed in because they are unliveable. This hotel has so much potential but has been let down by its owner as it needs a substantial cash injection. I don’t know how and who rated this as four star when upon spending an hour here it was easy to see it’s maybe a 2 star hotel at best. The staff are friendly and are trying but the facilities and hotel condition is hard to look past. We have stayed in equally rated hotels in Thailand and I really do not understand how this place has a four star status and where these good five star reviews have come from. The room itself that we have is big but cobwebs in the corner of the room, mould in the bathroom and stains on the bedding again don’t give four star hotel vibes. If I were staying for more than just the one night I’d have cried and moved hotels as this is just terribly disappointing compared to the photos they have advertised.

We came to this 'resort' with positive expectation, especially that we booked room for 9 nights. Door man - always positive and helpfull. Check in - unprofessional and not attentive. Room - dark, just with little balcony windown, other "window" was blocked with wood. Also rooms made quick and cheep, so the drawers close poorly with loud noise, without any resistence. And when it comes cleaning from above room it's a torture, not to mention construction sound too. Balcony - facing construction, which every morning and every day caused us trouble to sleep and rest. I'm not sure why they call themselves a resort, we asked to move to other room and complained about the noise and that we will need to stay here more than a week, but they ignored us, and didn't show any symphaty. Restaurant - is more like buffett style, very boring and doesn't seem like a place you would want to dine and pay more than other places. Restaurant service is semifriendly, depends who serves you. Once we arrived in the evening and asked for a cocktail, were greeted with ignorance and nobody wanted to make one, so it was unpleasant experience, after we wanted to receive another one, had to walk wet from the pool and chase service. There are good restaurants around, like Black Pearl if you are looking for authentic Thai food. Pool area - is nice, smaller than looked in the pictures, it's nice to swim there if you get a chance, usually it's occupied by big families with kids, which are jumping around without trying to be polite (notice there is a sign not to jump or run around pool area), but staff never ever said a word to the parent, make sure they kids behave. Sun beds - located next to the pool, entrance and at the beach, usually occupied, sometimes we would go to the restaurants next to our resort and ask for a sun bed, as they provide it if you drink or dine there. Big plus on cleanliness, we were always happy with how clean the room was. Location - quite further from activities and chawang, around also not much, but easy to get a taxi. Place in general supposed to look newish as it is one year old, but looked quite dated. Also not very suitable for couples, more focused on families. Before white sand we stayed one week in a similar concept resort, for the same price. Suffice to say we had high expextations, as the previous place included gym, high quality spa, attentive service and willing to help you in any sitaution. Again, none of the rooms faced any construction or dirty tiny roads, so definitely white sand needs to work better on finding correct management and delivering a better experience as it can be done.

Just NO. The pictures online does not match reality!!! We were expecting a nice 4star resort when in reality the place is falling apart and swarming with little screaming children! Pools are dirty and there is zero soundproofing. Receptionists has completely given up and they are useless in terms of helping the guest. Also there was a water outage from evening to the next day and again nothing to be done. *the only plus to this place is the bathroom which was nice and modern! But otherwise completely overpriced for what you get which is maybe a 2star experience. Disappointed ! Avoid

Not recommended. Booked the Pool Access room for 2 nights. The room was clean and decent, and the staff at the concierge when we checked in was very friendly, but those were the only highlights of the resort. The reason why the other room types were not available was because they were in a state of disrepair. Likewise, the pool could do with better maintainence. While the beach was only a few steps away, it was also massively underwhelming. There were a couple of power cuts during my stay. Slept through the second night with the power cut off in the middle of the night. The next morning, the power resumed briefly, and it cut off again. We were told the power cut could last a few hours. Without a backup power generator onsite, we were left without electricity, packing our bags and washing up before checking out. For the price of this resort, there were other better options elsewhere.

The pool view room with big bath tub was amazzzinng! I had such a great stay there, the pool, the beach everything nice. I didn't eat at the restaurant but everything was reasonably priced and the drinks were good. The staff was suuuper kind and helpful, very good English. Definitely recommend

A fine example of Thai hospitality. All the staff smile and greet you, it is clean, the service you cannot fault, and the bedding is luxurious, so good we want to buy pillows the same to take home. If you read bad reports about food here, I can only comment on breakfast so far, but with their standard it would reasonable to assume the food standard is set high. Breakfast is a treat look forward to each morning with a huge variety of food in a tranquil setting overlooking both pool and sea.Would I stay again?... yes... in a heartbeat. Veronica

I honestly don’t understand the reviews of this place. It’s not a bad hotel but it looks and feels nothing like the photos. For the price there are so many better options and I can’t believe I paid as much as I did for it. Our room felt old and dated, except for the bathroom which was modern. They hid construction materials everywhere they could, the beach area had ripped sandbags for stairs. We were told on our booking that we would get a free dinner, when we went to book it they told us no, that they would need to get back to us. The next time we heard about it was at checkout when they again told us no until I again showed them the booking. They then asked if they could give us a discounted ride to the ferry, our taxi was minutes away so I declined. Poor service. The beach was beautiful, the location was ok. It’s not that there is anything hugely wrong with this place it’s just that it’s way too expensive for what it is and isn’t comfortable or relaxing. I couldn’t imagine paying for one of their suites and showing up and seeing the hotel, I felt ripped off as it is.

Rooms are good, a beach is fairly ok... Though waves in january won't make kids happy, I think. Pools are small. Foods inside the hotel are well overpriced. Overall the place is good but quite far from perfect. Wifi signal in some rooms is very weak.

If you read my review you must book the front beach right now because of it fantastic. In the room is so great. you will surprise with ceiling shower that is incredible. The front beach is suitable to couple and honeymoon. why is a suit with the couple because there is a bath next to the bed. If you come with family I have to recommend pool Villar. And Wifi was excellent. The services and staff friendly and lovely I mean everyone. I'm so enjoyable and happy for 3 days 2 nights. Have you booked it yet?

This is a fantastic place to stay on Samui that will not break your bank. Our room was very clean and comfortable. This location is at the end of Lamai beach so it's nice if you're looking for a quiet place where the beach is not as busy. While everyone on staff was wonderfully helpful and kind Yee at the front desk was our favorite part of our stay here. She was so kind and fun, always joking and laughing and happy to give us local recommendations. Her smile and positive demeanor really is infectious. Thanks to all staff for a seamless experience!

Beach Front Bungalow is highly recommended We stayed 7 days in the Beach Front Bungalow. What we liked: • Bungalow is very nice. Interior is of good quality. • A large terrace with morning sunshine and shade the rest of the day. • The additional sundeck with all day sunshine • Nice and clean stretch of beach. Not too busy • Very friendly and helpful staff • In the area there is an bunch of supermarkets and restaurants • Quite area. Hotel is set back from the main road. But in 10 Min you are in the dining and bar area of Lamai What we did not like: • Fridge in the room was not really cold • Maintenance of the outside metal party could be better (rusty here and there) Overall we were very happy with the hotel and would recommend it.

Amazing experience. From the moment we arrived all staff were extremely polite and welcoming. Offered help at every turn - The pool access rooms were spacious, regularly cleaned and topped up with fresh water. Location was perfect if you are wanting a relaxing/laid back holiday. Cabs are mainly 200bhat everywhere in Lamai & a short trip to main strip. Great beachfront complex & we would definitely book again when we return in the future. Another Thankyou to the lovely staff!

*** DONT BOOK HERE, ITS A SCAM *** I don’t often write reviews, but always use them to make choices when looking to stay here. I booked this hotel to stay at for my son’s 10th birthday in January 2024. The room I booked was no refundable, but having read reviews I was happy to take the risk. 2 hours before we were due to travel there we received an email to say that their pool was closed due to unplanned renovations. Let’s be honest, this is the hotels only real selling point and the whole reason I booked it in the first place. Disappointed, we had no choice but to travel to the hotel to discuss things with their team in person. Arriving at the hotel it was a mess, almost looked derelict. Whoever took their hotel photos needs a pay rise, put it that way. It was clear that the work wasn’t unplanned, and in fact had been going on for some time. Letting guests know on the day they travel is obviously a ploy to prevent confrontation. We were told that we had the use of a pool at their sister hotel, 15 minutes away by shuttle. This runs every 2/3 hours. Not the fairytale birthday I had in mind for my son if I’m honest. To compound things, the hotel refused to refund me my money after telling me to contact Agoda to do so when I was there in person. I had to pay again to stay at a hotel that was able to provide the facilities it promised. Nothing but con artists. Looking back at the hotel reviews, there were clear signs. They haven’t had a positive review since 2021, that tells its own story. If you are thinking of staying here, please don’t. You will end up disappointed as we were. Save your money and stay somewhere else. We stayed at The Rock down the road and it was absolutely night and day to this place.

One of the best places I've ever stayed at! Staff are amazing, as is the location. The rooms are beautiful, especially the rooms by the smaller pool! Terra the bartender was a stand out part of the stay, he is funny, smart and very good at his job! I would absolutely stay here again, and will be recommending White Sands to anyone travelling to Samui

Yee at the front desk was the sweetest angel on this Earth. She was so kind and welcoming. Very professional and beautiful. She always talked to us and make sure we were taken care of! Please book a stay just so you can meet her! The whole staff is extremely friendly and accommodating! Can’t say enough great things about them!

Was a great 6 nights stay in the hotel. We booked double room with one big bed, but received 2 double beds, but management fixed the issue very fast. Breakfast - ok. Sometimes we even had some salmon. Generally - we were happy with the hotel.

We booked the pool access room, and were complimentary upgraded to a pool villa. I don't know why but it was the best thing that could have happend. The villa is absolutely gorgeous. It is clean, the private pool is amazing, the beach is right in front of the hotel, and I honestly don't understand some of the bad reviews. The breakfast is super yummy. Granted, the restaurant is a bit more careful with spice in the food. But you can always ask for a bit more if you want the food to be more hot. If anything I think that is very polite. The staff is wonderful and extremely, genuinely kind. You feel that they treat you kind because they really care. Our experience was more then positive. I would come back any time and I think we made a very good decision coming here, especially when talking past the other resorts on Lamai Beach. It is quiet, the beach is beautiful, the sunrise is a must. I highly recommend coming here.
