Loved this hotel. Small, lots of greenery around the resort and exceptional location on the most beautiful beach. Rooms are a decent size. Friendly, professional staff. Restaurant serves delicious food and drinks and catered well for my daughter who is gluten free and has coeliac disease. My only suggestion is get rid of the plastic single use straws. Really not good for the environment.

I rarely write reviews for hotels but this boutique resort deserves to have one. One of my most memorable stays! The location is perfect, at the best stretch of Chaweng beach. Very quiet yet not too far from all the hustle and bustle. The room was perfectly designed, felt like being at an elegant Japanese beach hut. The staff did even surprise me for my birthday without me mentioning it in my reservation. All of that was offered at a reasonable price. I’d definitely go back again 👌🏼

This was our favorite of the places we stayed in Thailand. Although Samui is just starting to open up, Banana Fan had everything nice, new, renovated and modern. And it's so cool how it's right on the water, for example eating the excellent breakfast you are basically getting hit by the mist from waves (in a good way). The fitness center is small but had great new equipment. The location in the heart of Chaweng couldn't be better. And the staff were extremely kind and you got the sense they are actually happy for you to be there. Definitely a five star place to stay. Probably better to go soon and avoid the crowds!

We booked this hotel on a whim, after extending our stay on Koh Samui for two more days. It turned out to be a fantastic stay and would've loved to stay for more than just two nights. The location is great, both in terms of the proximity to the city, restaurants, bars, other hotels etc as well as in terms of the beach right on front of the hotel. While many areas on the island have had to deal with receding beaches, this hotel, as well as the neighboring properties still have a decently sized beach to offer. The rooms were well sized – neither huge nor small – and well furnished and decorated. Comparing it to old pictures of the hotel, it's pretty clear that someone did an outstanding job in turning outdated huts into stylish, yet cozy bungalows. The bathroom and shower are quite large and all necessary toiletries are provided. We found the bed to be good but not great and the air-conditioning was in a good location so no to blow straight into our faces at night. For me, one of the two most outstanding parts of the hotel was the garden. The entire hotel premise is covered in carefully arranged greenery. It's a perfect mix of large trees, palm trees, smaller tropical shrubs and ground covering plants. Combined with the lighting, it really creates a feeling tranquility. The second one was the restaurant. It serves excellent Thai food and I would recommend trying the southern options they have on the menu. The betel leaf curry or the curry paste of the day were surprising variations to dishes I have eaten 100 times before. The drinks were excellent and the staff was exceptional, even for Thai standards. The only slight criticism I can come up with is that the pool and the sunbathing area surrounding it is a bit too small to actually be of use. Anybody who wants to spend most of their time at the pool, instead of the beach or is planning to swim a few laps, will be disappointed. I personally didn't mind it too much and, for anyone who wants to experience a bigger pool and sunbathing area on one of the days, there is a luxury resort just south of the hotel, where you can use all facilities for a fee of about 1500 Baht, which can be used as credit to purchase food and drinks. I would certainly recommend this hotel to friends and family and would stay again in the future. One last tip from me is to check the rates directly with the hotel (phone or email) before booking it online. In our case, the hotel's own rate was cheaper and included transfers to and from the hotel.

After having a disastrous experience in the hotel next door (see my review of KC Beach Club), we arrived at this hotel just wanting a clean, well-maintained hotel. Safe to say that this resort beat all expectations. The whole resort feels like a small oasis and the rooms were spacious, clean and nicely decorated. Service was super friendly across the hotel and the swimming pool (and bar in the swimming pool) cannot be beat. We also had breakfast and dinner at the resort and both were very good and reasonably priced. We only stayed for 2 nights before moving on, but it was with pain in our hearts that we left and it was by far the best stay we had during our trip in Thailand.

Definitely on my top favourite hotel list! I got a chance to stay here with my friends for 2 nights and came back here in 2 weeks to stay another 7 nights with my boyfriend! Everyone was so nice, friendly and very helpful here from the front staff, security guards, cleaners and staff at the restaurant. Besides the perfect ambience, great location, comfy bed, delicious breakfast and hotel restaurant I also love how good the water pressure is in a bathroom. It feels so nice and fresh taking a shower with strong water stream after a hot sunny day. Thank you so much for making our trip so memorable. We will come back again for sure!

Great hotel right on chaweng beach. The hotel complex is very well maintained, the rooms are super clean and the service is simply nice and good. The small hotel is located directly on the beach and a bit away from the party area, which is great for having peace and quiet during the day and having a cocktail etc. in the evening. The breakfast selection is great, there are different types of bread, vegetables, fruit, sausage, cheese and so on. Everyone should find something here. we would absolutely recommend this hotel.

Staff was super friendly, facilities are great right by the beach. The water is rougher on this part of the beach but if you want a calmer beach just walk down the beach. The facilities is nice and clean and the breakfast has wide selection for everyone.

What a gem! A true Samui legend that has been famous for many years and is more charming than ever, with recently renovated spacious rooms and villas in a gorgeous tropical garden. And the food is just divine! I come here for a leisurely lunch by the beach or a dinner under the stars and my expectations are always excelled. The whole team is genuinely warm hearted and goes the extra mile to make sure everyone is happy.

I hesitated for a long time to write this review because I usually hold back on criticism and in this particular case I wanted to give the Banana Fan Sea Resort time to perhaps send some apology. But since this hasn't happened for over a month, here's the report of what we have experienced. Let me make it clear at the beginning that we have been to Koh Samui over 10 times and have therefore already seen a lot. But what we experienced at this resort was by far the worst. I'm also wondering where all these positive reviews come from. We stayed at the Banana Fan Sea Resort for 8 nights at the beginning of October and booked the beach bungalow with its own swimming pool. This should actually be the highlight of our vacation. But when we got up the morning after our arrival the previous night, we found a swimming pool that was completely dirty. The water was brown, stale and smelled worse than a duck pond. The walls were covered in green algae and we were really shocked. Let me also say right away that the bungalow costs almost $300 a night. We then informed the reception about this and they sent someone. This person saw the pool and said “not good” in complete disbelief. Water samples and photos were then taken. Afterwards the pool water was made somewhat presentable again with a lot of chlorine. They also tried to clean the walls a bit with brushes. But this wasn't really successful and we had slippery pool walls all week. Please see also some photos of the duck pond and after cleaning. The whole cleaning process also took the whole first day and we couldn't use the pool, even we paid for that. And if you saw and smelled the water on the first day, it wasn't such a good feeling to swim in it for the remaining days. However, it continued like this the whole week. There was probably not a day when we didn't have to call because towels were missing, beach towels were missing, water wasn't refilled, etc. One day we had to ask the houskeeping to change the new duvet cover again because the one she gave us had some brown stains. I don't even want to know what it was. Of course there was always a response and the staff is really friendly. But this simply shouldn't happen at such a price level. I am also aware that mistakes can happen. But it was the norm and not the exception. The final highlight came when we left the hotel in the morning one day and asked at reception if we could have 6 bottles of water instead of the usual 4. This was also confirmed and we were assured that everyone are actually obligated to have 6 bottles of water and that we should just call if we need them. When we called the same day at 9 in the evening to ask about the 2 additional bottles of water, a lovely woman told us we were too late for that and that we would have to tell housekeeping the next day. This was the first time ever that I did raise my voice in Thailand and I vented my anger. After everything that had already happened, they had the audacity to say this! This apparently worked and 10 minutes later we had an additional 2 bottles. Another highlight of the holiday should actually be the beach dinner with a fire show. But it quickly became clear to us that the hefty price was probably more for the good fire show and not for the food. We had never had such a bad meal in Thailand like on that evening. As I said, I don't understand all these good reviews and for us it was definitely the first and last time at this resort. I'm also not someone who is particularly critical or has to find fault with everything. But this was actually supposed to be a dream vacation. But this really ruined the Banana Fan Sea Resort for us big times.

Rooms may need a bit decoration, but everything was very clean, spacious and functional. Everything was amazing for a reasonable price. The service is great and the people are just amazing. The location is excellent, you have the beach and the city just next to you. The bar/restaurant is super nice, just next to the beach. We were super happy with this hotel!

Fantastic experience at banana fan sea. The staff are extremely helpful and available for you. The rooms are magnificent. The pool is incredible, and the beach being a few steps from the resort is so bloody convenient. Kevin’s bar on the beach at the resort is a vibe! Good food and smoothies.

This place is amazing, the right size, the right price, beautiful people, stunning views, free paddle board hire. It’s the best place and I have stayed here a few times and would happily stay here again. This is true 5 star, you are not treated like a walking number/wallet. You really do have to come here. The rooms are beautiful, the balcony is lovely, proximity to the beach is great. The restaurant is great. The chicken cashew is the best I’ve ever tasted … ever.

We spent wonderful 2 weeks here and couldn’t ask for more. Everything was excellent. The resort is beautiful with lots of green. Everything is super clean and the rooms very nice. Location is superb. Right on the beach which is also very clean and great for kids especially when the tide is low. The infinity pool is also great. What’s best about the place though is the wonderful staff. Everyone was so so friendly - especially to our 5 year old daughter. Special thanks to Diamond - you are great and we hope to be back some day. We already miss this place.

Had a 3 night stay at this resort, amazing location. 5 min walk away from the main buzzing streets of Samui. Hotel is located at beach, infiniti pool available. Kevin's bar is somewhat expensive compared to the outside but what to expect in a resort Very friendly staff, cleanliness is high everywhere. Room was just amazing. Small point of improvement: breakfast has good choice but lack little quality in my own personal opinion. Other then this nothing to say. Parking free available for motor bikes with overnight guard

Incredible staff! All very friendly, attentive and proactive. Nicely located resort with beautiful pool area right on the beach. The free paddleboarding was a nice touch. Great stay!

The best place in Ko Samui in our opinion. From the lovely staff, to the premium location right on the beautiful beach, to swim up bar, not to mention the stunning rooms and service. 10/10 in every regard. Book this place, you will not regret it.

Nice hotel near Chaweng. The grounds are full of of vegetation. It's beautiful just to walk around. Breakfast is buffet style and plentiful. The zero pool overlooking the sea is a gem, especially with a cocktail from the in-pool bar. Rooms are specious and clean. Make sure you are not assigned to a back room so you can enjoy sitting in the balcony.

Went to Banana Fan Sea for the new year’s eve celebration. The staff was amazing, especially when it came to resetting everything when the rain hit. Nice, pool, beach, bar and facility. Have not stayed at the resort but have used the facilities many times and have always enjoyed it. I didn’t give 5 stars as the food for the new years eve event wasn’t not quite 5 star worthy based on the price. But we had a lovely time and would go back.

Great hotel with friendly and helpful stuff. Room very clean. Hotel located at beautiful beach where you can find many umbrellas with sun beds for guest, there is also a pool with view on the sea and bar. Highly recommend

Wonderful service and ambience! The waiters in the restaurant and the receptionists are very polite and welcoming, the live concerts are great and the dinner on the beach is amazing! We were there on our honeymoon and we would love to come back to this place which I can't tell about other hotels in Thailand we've stayed at.

It was a dreamlike 5 night's experience in banana fan sea. Spacious and very clean room, amazing facilities, good location, beautiful beachfront with great staff ever i seen. All staff are very kind and well trained. Especially service from Restaurant staff "Bom" was very impressed. She was keep ask and help customers with beautiful smile that i can feel behind her mask. Definitely i will comeback this place with my family again. I'm hoping everyone in banana fan sea is well and happy.

Most incredible hotel. Rooms are spacious and clean. The staff here are the best I’ve ever experienced, really polite and go way above and beyond my expectations. Food was delicious. You can also use the paddle boards and kayak in the sea as a customer. I’d highly recommend and didn’t want to leave!

Just returned home from our third visit to Banana Fan. Our stay was nothing short of amazing. All the staff were extremely friendly making us feel very welcome. Food was delicious. Rooms were clean and spacious. Perfect location right on the beach. Special mention to Bill who went above and beyond to make our stay exceptional. Could not fault Banana Fan and we will definitely be back in the near future.

Just stayed here for 4 nights and loved it! The staff were very friendly and helpful, and the hotel seemed very new. The room was clean and beds super comfortable. Loved the pool and how it was right on a very clean beach and beautiful clear blue sea. Bill who was the guest experience manager gave good recommendations on what to visit and mr Yot the reservations manager also helped to sort out our ATK tests for the flight back. Restaurant was really good as well and seemed crowded for dinners. Location was good, within walking distance to a big mall and a short taxi ride to everything else. Nothing to complain about and would stay here again!

I have been to Samui countless times, every time with different hotels until I visited this resort. This is the third time I stayed here and it’s always an amazing experience. The pool is damn nice and Chaweng beach (หาดเฉวง) never disappoints. The room is in perfect condition, new air conditioner, black out curtain, good sound proof, nice bathroom with strong stream of hot/cold water and superb comfortable bed and pillows. Good breakfast and tasty Thai and European restaurant. Every staff is well-trained and very welcoming. All of these good stuffs in a reasonable price with the airport, 7-Eleven, Central department store and Bangkok hospital (in case of accident) in close proximity. It even has its own coffee shop, the Amazon cafe in front of the resort. It’s just damn good vibe all around. Perhaps it’s mainly because the hotel is extremely new (it’s just built recently) so it’s still in top notch condition. I have high hope that it can keep this quality and providing good service for a long time to come. I will gladly return here forever.

My wife and I stayed there for 3 weeks, and we really enjoyed everything about the hotel. Location is perfect, right on the best beach of Samui. Staff been great and helpful. Rooms are clean and spacious. Restaurant serves really good food, from the buffet breakfast to lunch and diner. And the pool and lounger area has plenty of space. I used the gym quite often and it did the job! Definitely recommend.
