The Zara Resort was quite disappointing. The bungalow was dirty, with dirty curtains, sofa, surfaces, mirrors, bed sheets, and coffee cups. The whole place smelled strongly of toilet cleaner, which was unpleasant. The pool looked milky white, indicating insufficient chlorine. On a positive note, the staff were friendly. However, when we decided to leave after only three hours, we didn't receive a refund for the four nights we had paid for. They only offered a free lunch, which didn't make up for the problems. Overall, I wouldn't recommend Zara Resort based on my experience.

They really do not care their guests! They laughed when I had difficulties! My pic is from cleaner , Who sit and smoke while I was without toaletpaper and cleaning. Even they promise to come and clean in every two hour. Do not exept too much! They totally only want your money...and prefer to take them twice...as we paid testi and taxi and room

The staff were absolutely fantastic! The room was clean and neat. It must be the most centrally situated accommodation in Samui. After spending 16 nights there, we wished we were booked in for 30! I will definitely be back.

We have had our flight to Koh Samui delayed by 24 hours (by the airline not by choice) so have had to cut our stay short by 1 night. This resort is the only accommodation on the trip that refuses to adjust the booking and are insistent that we will forfeit the nights accommodation or should we cancel they will retain 50% of the booking fee. Not a very good way to welcome tourists back to Koh Samui.

The hotel was nice at first glance. We had a pool villa and the pool was cleaned every day, but unfortunately, it was probably the only thing that was cleaned. The bathrooms were dirty, it looked like the taps were never cleaned and the drain was clogged. Also there was a horrible smell coming from the fridge. The AC was veryyy very loud. Location was lovely, it was close to everything and there are markets nearby. I dont regret staying here but there could be big improvements.

Great location, close to everything in Lamai. Looks fantastic from the outside BUT... - Bloody sheets - Squished insects and blood on curtains - Very loud aircon unit and doesnt chill very good either. - Mold in the bathroom/shower. You can smell it all the time when you are inside the room. - Low effort breakfast, would not pay for that again. +Friendly staff +The common pool and the surrounding area was very fresh +Cheap

The room was clean and spacious. Room was kept clean anytime we requested it. They have a WhatsApp number that you can just ask questions instead of going to the front desk which makes it convenient. They offer motorbike rentals which is cheaper than anything in town (250 Baht/day) - unfortunately we weren’t able to rent one since it was all rented out.

    - The Garden Villa was clean! - The resort ist beautiful! - The Staff was nice to us! - The pool light doesn’t worked! - The fan in the bedroom doesn’t worked! - The air condition was very loud, we have to turn it off sometimes! We had a really good price on booking so it was overall okay! But when you want to spent more money i would recommend to go somewhere else!

On our arrival the villa was not perfectly cleaned. Also the toilet was not flushing. Staff was very friendly and quickly solved the problems.

The rooms are nice but we were very disappointed with the service, while some are very nice, others are nonchalant. We had the sign to make up the room on the door at 11 am but when we came back the room was still a mess and the cleaning lady did not come… I arrive at 10:29 am for the breakfast which is until 10:30, she tells me it is too late, then another one says ok but the one at the bar doesn’t give me the juice neither the coffee included…

Nice place to get a drink at the night market. Shelter from rain and ok, I mean ok drinks. But company made it better. Won't take credit cards unless it's 1000 baht or more.

The Villas are very large which is why we chose it, rather a 4 star spacious unit than 5 star box. If they renovate the rooms it will probably price itself out of our range anyway. In our opinion great value for money. Staff are excellent and Lamai beach is one of our favourites.

It would appear that the complex had just reopened. Room after complaining was suitable, shower and water 💧 hit and miss. Breakfast a total disaster......avoid and go to hut bungalow over bridge and to left of zara Beach. Staff very friendly but English not 1st language. Shower so temperamental it was laughable

Absolutely perfect resort! The staff are very kind, nothing is too much trouble for them. Main pool is gorgeous and so relaxing. Rooms and villas are set in a jungle garden area. The resort looks much more beautiful than the photos online!

Great place, lovely staff that run by friendly Israelis. We rented a villa with the pool, the room was great and spacious and pool is great for a couple

Wonderful staff, they all work very hard. The manager “A” has been so helpful. Lovely rooms well decorated with a family room “suite” style setup and nice vaulted ceilings with exposed wooden beams. Well landscaped grounds. Very good value for money resort.

Nick and his team did my signage back in June or July for my restaurant, they delivered on time, they had great communication, and now we are in negotiations for 2 more of them! See the photo attached, they do great work. Thank you Upstate Signs and Graphics

Place was OK. In some rooms there are no tables to sit/work or eat on. There is no such thing as private pools, you always share them with other rooms or they´re not really private.

Such an awesome hotel!!! Beautiful rooms set in the quaint woods next to the ocean. The night we stayed there was a fun street market and lively music on the main street. Friendly staff too, we’d definitely stay again! 👍🏽👍🏽

The experience of renting a car from al mizan was very good. Although we found out there was a problem with one wheel not having enough air pressure, upon return to the renting facility they gave us immediately another car, which was fully satisfactory.

Stayed here and had a Watch stolen right out of my room by staff. Dry cleaning ruined a shirt. Hotel is in shambles. Right on a swampy inlet leading to the ocean, with no real oceanfront presence. Would not recommend.

Our stay was nice. The location is very calm during the low senson. Breakfast is good - they make french toast or pancakes at the moment, for example. Villa was good, very big. But needs some maintenence: AC makes a lot of noise, as some things like the taps need to be changed. Staff was really nice to us.

We had 11 nights and we’re very happy with the hotel and staff throughout. The staff were all very friendly and helpful , the room was cleaned well when we asked and the pool and deck were cleaned pretty much daily which was needed after any strong winds which brought down debris from the trees. The pool was a bit green when we first got there but was cleaned straight away when we mentioned it to reception. Pui and Neung behind the the bar were brilliant. Both were new to the Zara beach but couldn’t do enough for us , Neung was always happy and always a joy. Pui despite the language barrier was very chatty and obviously accomplished and enthusiastic about his work, every cocktail was a masterpiece and he took great joy in the detail of creating them, likewise we took great joy in drinking them. The management are obviously making moves to improve the hotel and appear to have some great plans for it . In a couple of years it may even be unrecognisable hopefully doesn’t lose its charm. It did have a couple of negative points like the smelly drains on arrival which soon went after running taps and while the lunchtime snacks were fantastic The one breakfast we had was disappointing for the money and you could get better for the third of the price a short walk down the beach. I would recommend this hotel to anybody and feel it is on for bigger and better improvements and some of the negative comments on here seem a little bit petty. We were in the large Villa 14 and loved it!

👍👍 Stayed here for 3 nights. It was excellent. The pool was gorgeous! The breakfast was really really good too. Really fresh good quality fruits and cooked food! Only slight problem was that the hotel can get damp when it rains, which it did while we were there. We had to confirm with reception that it...
