The Food is delicious and the service is friendly. We ate here several times and were very happy every time! It is a bit loud, because it's next to the main street, but you can also sit inside.

Went there for lunch and was not disappointed. Everything was delicious and cheap. We really enjoyed the mixed mushrooms and fried bananas. Friendly and welcoming staff too :)

This place and their food is nothing but amazing. My husband and I have been eating here almost everyday for weeks, and we just can’t get enough. If you’re looking for an affordable place with tasty thai food, visit Mr Kai. The staff is extremely friendly as well.

Amazing Thai food at great value!! Despite the place being empty (probably due to the fact we were eating late) we went in because of the great reviews and we’re so happy we did! The food was of amazing quality and the service was great and it was so cheap. It cost us 500 baht for 2 of us. We had chicken satay, chicken gyoza, stir fried beef and vegetables in oyster sauce, rice, 1 chang, a coke and a water. There were loads of options on the menu too - would definitely recommend

We found Mr Kai’s food good and delicious. The service is very good and friendly. We ordered Chicken soup with coconut, Papaya salad, Fish Cake, Massaman curry and Stir fried chicken with Basil. Mr Kai puts attention to the decoration of the dish so the meals look nice. But be aware not to say Spicy! My partner said he wanted Thai spicy and he Got what he asked for… 😬 For the entire meal he was cleaning his sweats 😅

Food was absolutely yummy. If you're looking for value meets food quality without the touristy price increase of fisherman's wharf, this is the place you need to go. It's not to far from Fisherman's Village and is typically not too busy either. Your not coming here for the atmosphere, but really great Thai food, and excellent service. 5 stars all the way. We will be coming a second time during our 5 night stay here. ❤️

This was the best food we've had so far in Thailand. Family style, low key and quite inexpensive with fast and attentive service. Mr. Kai is an absolute gem far removed from the tourist restaurants of Fisherman's Village. We ordered the crispy pork with kale, sweet sour chicken and for dessert the mango sticky rice which gets it's color from the Muang Anchan flower.

Really fresh tasty food, beats anything we have had in fisherman's village and a lot more reasonably priced. My girlfriend is vegetarian and they substituted chicken for tofu on request.

We came to mr. Kai kitchen to have authentic thai food for our last evening here in thailand and it was just amazing! The food is absolutely delicious and their staff is just lovely! The steamed fish was excellent, highly recommend to try it with the lemon sauce!

We walked from our hotel to Mr. Kai Kitchen, the street sidewalk is not like the typical tourist situation, no frills no neon light, keep following Google Map and u will find a small cafe style Air Conditioned restaurant. U can also see Mr. Kai cooking on the exterior side of the restaurant, when u enter the restaurant you will be greeted by Mrs. Kai, smiley, friendly and humble. This place is own and run by husband and wife, the place is very clean, very comfortable, all the simple, basic necessities all checked! The food was amazing, local authentic taste, piping hot, and well balanced on the pallet. Since this is a very small restaurant, there’s only about 8 tables. No reservation needed but if u are a big group, u shld call ahead. We went a bit greedy with our food options, as we were hungry and excited. The price of every dish is just a small fraction of hotels menu, but the flavor/dishes are the big fraction of the food memories we got! A whole fish cooked however u like, at 300 Baht is amazing! Other dishes were between 100-180 Baht. Beverage option were basic and good enough. They even hv wine by the glass lol! Go give the local small family run business some support, and experience the beauty of local hospitality and flavors! I am planning to eat there again before we leave Samui.

This is a great little find in Bophut. It is owned by a family and they are so friendly. We tried most things on the menu, over multiple days, and nothing else compared. The flavour is good and the price is exceptional. If it is busy the food can be slow to come out as it is just Mr Kai cooking, but it is worth the wait! Some recommendations are the Pad Si-Ew, Massaman curry / roast duck red curry, morning glory and the stir fried Thai basil. The fruit smoothies are also very fresh and great on a hot day.

In general, our experience in Bophut has been one giant tourist trap. This place saved our trip. Good prices are a plus, but the key is the absolutely amazing food. The host (both server, chef, and owner) is incredibly kind and helpful. Setting is very low key, bit for us that was a plus after so many places with great settings on the beach and terrible food. The interior design is very chic and it was very clean compared to most other restaurants in this area. The food was amazing and the plating was a feast for the eyes. 🥰

Fantastic Thai food. The chef was previously with other resorts before opening his own restaurant. Several highlights: pad si-ew, tom yum talay (seafood), omelette, fried fish with garlic, fried squid with garlic, pomelo with prawns appetiser.

The restaurant was pleasant, the food was delicious. The servers greeted us with smiling faces, and they remembered that my partner doesn't eat coconut. During our second visit, they provided advance notice for dishes containing coconut.

We love this place. Food is consistently food and very fresh. We ate here once, and we've been back 4 times since. Very reasonable prices even when having 2 or more dishes each.

This place is absolutly worth visiting. The food is awsome. High quality is combined with flavorful preparation so that your food will give you a great experience. The service is great even when the place is crowded you get served quite fast and they always stay kind and welcoming.

Mr Kai knows his specialty, done it just about right. Deep fried Sea bass with separate tamarind sauce was delicious with stir fried morning glory and crab fried rice was also the best.

Absolutely brilliant food and more than reasonable pricing. The staff is super friendly. They remembered us instantly when we went the second time and already prepared our Changs. Good Thai food. Not extremely touristic like other food places. If you stay in Bophut you should check the place out

Next to my hotel I dined here several times and felt very comfortable as a solo diner. The staff / owners made me feel very welcome and were super smilie and really hospitable. They speak good English and the menu is varied. Air conditioning inside with simple tables to enjoy what Mr Kai cooks! I ate the pad Thai, Tom yam soup and then papaya salad and satay prawns on my dining experience! Highly recommend.

The staff is super friendly and gentle. The place is small and cozy. The food tastes very good and its preparation is visible to anyone. Portions are very good and prices are excellent. Really a very good option to eat local food with very good prices. Recommended.

Realy good Restaurant ! We had a Hotel near the Restaurant... and I can tell you very friendly Staff, the Food is awesome and if you like spicy :). We had 3x Starters, 2 big main menues, 4x drinks and dessert and paid 700Baht what is around 20€ . Thumbs up for Mr.Kai

Food was extremely well priced. I had various soft shell crab and it was presented very well and tasted as good as it looked. And you could taste the difference between my chosen orders

We loved Mr Kai Kitchen enough to return a second time, and may be back again in our 5-day stay. All the food was consistently delicious and we tried different dishes the second time to experience different flavours. We recommend getting at least 3 dishes for 2 people so you can try different things. It’s a family-run business and the staff are welcoming, professional, and friendly. Our favourite dishes were the panang curry, mango sticky rice, fish cakes, and fried banana. That being said, we had trouble picking favourites because everything was phenomenal.

Little place run by a lovely friendly Thai family. Some of the best food i have had in all my trips to Thailand and prices very cheap as well. Sad that i only found them my second as day on Samui. Will be back next time i am in the area.

This is our family's favorite Thai food restaurant in Koh Samui. The owner/chef is extremely kind and helpful. A big plus is that our hotel is very close to here, so we would definately come back for more delicious yet great price. Thank you Mr. Kai for make such amazing food for us.

That’s the best Thai restaurant in this area. Most recommended fish in the soy sauce and soft crab in paper. And for sure, full-flavored Tom-yum. Delicious and authentic flavor at a very affordable price. Very friendly staff.

This place is a must if you are visiting Koh Samui! You can’t go wrong with anything on the menu. Tom yum soup + soft shell crab were to die for. Presentation is also 10/10.

Amazing food at amazing prices in simple yet friendly surroundings. Ten minute walk from Fisherman's Market but well worth it. Definitely deserving of a visit.
