After a lengthy hibernation period, this restaurant is finally re-opened in the midst of the pandemic. With an expansion, it could accommodate more customers. Authentic Thai food served was tasty, flavorful and well presented. The curry base used in the shrimp and chicken dishes tended to be on the sweet side. Suit best the tastebuds of Europeans. Tom Ka Gai, coconut chicken soup was a hit. Best in Samui. Very creamy and delicious. Recommended. Be aware that the restaurant is closed every Friday. Do give it a try when they are open.

Very popular so make sure you get there early or you'll have to wait for a table. Food is really good quality and value. Full of flavour and tailored to how you like it. Highly recommended.

Fresh, authentic, amazingly tasty Thai cooking! They will make it spicy on a 0-3 level (3 being Thai level spicy) and the chef prefers less spicy herself so it's not just 'spicy!'. I went for level 3 but the freshness and flavours of the food still shone through. Just perfect!

This is the first restaurant I went to on my first day and I was not disappointed. The food is so fresh and fantastic and the concept is nice that the chef is local and makes her food with fresh ingredients only. You can choose the level of spiciness on any dish which is fantastic. The Staff are friendly. Highly recommended.

Really delicious! As starter we ordered spring roles. They were reeeeeeealy delectable. My husband ordered rice with chicken sauce Thai spicy style - he is an advanced spicy eater - it was pretty spicy but even I could handle it and I really don't like spicy that much. I ordered fried rice with basil and chicken and it was AMAZING! We can recommend this restaurant! 👌

Baan Ya Jai is a treasure. We had a brief wait of 10 minutes before we were seated at a lovely outside table. Service is discreet and competent. The food presentation delights both the eye and the palate. We were tired of big portions, so it was nice to find reasonable sized dishes. We started with a crisp, nicely spiced shrimp salad. I had the Mama Noodles with Seafood, which had a nice, smoky flavor, and my partner tried the Massaman Curry Chicken. All ingredients were fresh, not overcooked and allowed all the flavors to come through.

Super delicious! Can highly recommend. We’ll come back for sure. Everything is home made and you can definitely taste it.

Nice restaurant with good food. We got a very warm welcome, the food was excellent and the staff very attentive and super kind. Also good to know is that we have different kinds of allergies in the family which makes a restaurant visit challenging at times. Not here though. The staff accommodated our special needs without any issues. Our child was given kids plateware, which was well received! We will certainly come back here and highly recommend a visit there

Wow! Such great authentic Thai food. So delicious. We've come here 2 days in a row. All the curry dishes are excellent. Also, recommend the shrimp spring roll to start. It actually has real shrimp in it.

friendly staff, get you a seat real fast even though the line pretty long 👍🏻 just put your name & number of guests easy to find location food is good, the shrimps with tamarind sauce has a bit much MSG, still really tasty. highly recommend tom yum goong fried rice & pad thai with chicken, papaya salad with shrimps very tasty as well, shrimps and meat are all very fresh food comes out pretty fast, despite the busyness portion pretty big, us 2 finished 4 dishes and satisfied with the meal perfectly

We came here twice on our vacation because we just couldn't help it. Everything was super fresh and flavorful, but you MUST order the massaman curry and a mango or papaya salad. The location is also so convenient if you're staying in Chaweng. The desserts look amazing, but sadly we were too full 😢

Authentic thai food, super delicious and most importantly clean and fresh ingredients. My kid absolutely loved her shrimp spring rolls and pineapple fried rice that has the right amount of sweetness from the fresh pineapple.

Pad Thai is very delicious. The yellow curry is ok, but nothing special. Watermelon juice is excellent 🙃 Food was ready after 2-3 minutes.

We just had perfect dinner in this small restaurant. It's not straight in the street so helps a little bit with noise. Staff made sure we liked our food and were very respectful. I had stir fried red curry with beans and chicken, absolutely amazing dish. You can also choose easily how spicy you like your food!

We chose this place based on the good reviews and it didn’t disappoint. One of the best meals we’ve had in Thailand! Highly recommend the Chicken in Padan Leaves and the Steamed Seafood Curry in Coconut. Service was great. No cocktails, beer & wine only. The upstairs room lacks a bit of atmosphere compared to the main restaurant downstairs. But otherwise a great experience!

Amazing little find! The massaman curry was probably the nicest curry I’ve ever had. I will be going here for dinner tonight as well! All of the food looks incredible and well priced. Service was great as well.

Great little authentic Thai restaurant. There was a bit of a wait for a seat but it is definitely worth it. The servers are really attentive. We definitely over ordered - we had five dishes mango salad, shrimp with tamarind sauce, pad Thai with prawns, tom Kai Gai, and green curry chicken. Noodles in pad Thai were a bit overcooked, but the flavours are amazing. Tom Kai Gai could have been a bit more sour, but otherwise everything else was perfect!

Very delicious and traditional curry, both the massamann and red curry are nice. Thanks you to offer us a great meal during this Covid time, it’s not easy and hopefully will get over soon. I am sure will come back again during my time in Samir.

Arrived in Koh Samui after a few weeks travelling around Thailand and was given a restaurant recommendation by a couple at our hotel... Best. Recommendation. Ever. Staff were so friendly and helpful in helping us choose between the dishes and as my husband was torn between 2 favourites the chef gave us a sample of her panang curry too! Now absolutely stuffed full of delicious food and further resolve to book a Thai cooking course before we leave. Maybe we can just twist this chef's arm... 🤞😊

This place has both great food and service! I had the mango salad (medium spicy), mama noodle seafood, mango shake, and fresh coconut. Total was only 500 THB. I would definitely recommend this place!

Great place for some great local food. Loved the massaman curry, the tamarind fried fish was great, as was the shrimp pad Thai. The frozen coconut was yummy too! Definitely recommend.

Amazing local cuisine. Service was top notch and the food was brilliant however the South Indian palate could take more spice in the food. I would say their “spicy” is equivalent to “less spicy” for us. All the dishes we had were wonderful both in quality and quantity. On a lighter note, they could have saved the decorative orchid for the others I guess. Would definitely recommend this place for some authentic Thai culinary experience in Samui
