Animal abuse, elephants used for riding 🤮🤮 waterfall nice of course, but it’s very filthy. Plastic everywhere, bad smell. Won’t come back

A horrible place, the waterfall itself is lovely but on the way to the waterfall you pass a point where you ride elephants, there is also an option to feed them, I really cried at the sight of the elephants!!! Abuse called the elephants are tied by the leg and the elephant just moves back and forth as if swaying on the spot out of distress, we felt so sorry for them that we bought a lot of bananas that are sold there in order to feed them and give them one spot of light, although it is reasonable to assume that the one who sells is the one who employs them there but it is impossible It was impossible not to give them at least something small that might make them happy, do not go there !!!!!!!! Its bad place

Astonishing waterfall, easy to access (the first one at least). You can swim in the basin at the bottom of the waterfall for a nice refreshment. Parking is 20 Baht and there are shops selling drinks, ice cream and all kinds of stuff.

The waterfall itself is about 40m high and the day I went had some fast flowing water coming down due to the recent thunderstorms over the past week. There's refreshment stalls and a couple of souvenir stalls as you walk up the path to the falls. Right at the car park you will see some elephants for riding. We say three that were all ready for carrying people on their backs. Please don't support these activities. Often there is mistreatment of the animals as they are poked and hit to control their behaviour.

Worth the visit there, it’s well built up and safe. Good parking as well as a few vendors around. There is a safe path to the water fall as well. Good to bring kids here, but so come when it rains. I’m here the first time ever it doesn’t have lots of water 🤪 There is a water slide at the other water fall too. Make sure to consult your maps, the turn off is a bit hidden. And there are elephants there you can feed. They look quite happy

Amazing waterfall, saw a big snake in the pool at the bottom so didn't go swimming 😬 Also I paid 20Baht to park my scooter at the car park but literally just park before you get to the end to avoid this unnecessary charge. Elephants with chains around their ankles and being rode by people next to the car part, DO NOT SUPPORT ITS UNETHICAL!!!

Awesome experience of this waterfall. Well spent time here with the family. It's very clean and safe. This waterfall is excellent for kids to enjoy for couple of hours. This area is peaceful and less crowded. Water is also very clean and clear. People visiting this waterfall are quite decent and disciplined. Love this visit to the fullest.

Very impressive waterfall, very high and lots of water coming down. You can also swim there, but it is a little bit dangerous because of many rocks in the water which you cannot really see. You can park directly next to the waterfall, no walking or hiking required. Definitely worth a visit!👍

Nice Waterfall with near place to park. It can get really crowded here. Unfortunately there are a lot of chained elephants with saddles at the parkinglot. They don’t look healthy and for a small fee you can ride ( ABUSE!! ) the peaceful animals. Sadly some people use this opportunity to ride a elephant with up to 4 People. This is really disgusting and nothing you really want to do or see.

Super nice experience. When we went it was quiet and very peaceful. The water isn’t too cold and it’s super nice. The hike up is very steep but not super long. You definitely work up a sweat. But it’s always worth the little dip at the top. I really enjoyed it here.

This waterfall is really beautiful and easy to get there, no need for hiking shoes or a 4x4 drive. You can visit it with a scooter or bike and only 20thb for parking. You don't have to buy tickets to see the waterfall, it's free.

I visited the waterfall during the middle of August which is usually the dry season in Samui. Hence the waterfall didn't have any water. Though the scenery is nice but there wasn't much to do. I went there as a part of a group tour in a mini van. I preferred the mini van tour over the jeep tour as I had an issue with heat. If you are comfortable with the excessive heat and humidity, you could consider the jeep tour. The tour cost us 500 baht. It included the tour and drinking water only; no food.

A nice little visit during the week. If you have a car or bike it's not a difficult drive at all and quite easy to find. There is lots of parking at the end just before you walk not too far up the path to see the waterfall. It was quite busy when we went so it wasn't ideal for a relaxing dip. It is quite a nice place for a photo though and worth the visit if you are in the area. Quite a lot of slippery rocks around the waterfall so be extra careful around the area. There are also a lot of little cafes nearby if you want a ice cream or cold drink, there are also a few clothes shops and a public bathroom where you need to pay 5 baht. Worth a visit but can be very busy so not very relaxing.

Ohh how we loved visiting this waterfall. Took a scooter up and swam to cool off. If you are in Koh Samui please visit and have a coconut. Support the locals by buying some gifts and feed the elephants whilst you are there. I agree with previous comments to bring some water shoes for the rocks you can buy easily on the street. The rocks are part of nature so no complaints about it.

It is very busy usually, but very refreshing big waterfall. Also you can swim in cool waters so bring your swim suit, however places to change are non existing. Wear comfortable shoes also

An idyllic Thai waterfall hidden in the jungle of Koh Samui, Namuang Waterfall is what you think of when you imagine a jungle paradise! It’s a short walk to get to the falls (do keep in mind it is slippery, so watch your step!), and once you’re there, you can swim in cool, refreshing freshwater with the powerful falls behind you. Some people choose to climb the rocks around the falls, and others choose to hang out along the edge of the water with the mist spraying them occasionally to cool them down. Regardless what you choose, this place is well worth the visit! Only thing I would suggest is not visiting the elephant place nearby. I saw people riding the elephants (which harms them) as well as elephants and babies being chained up to poles. It wasn’t nice at all. So stick with the waterfall, and you should be good!

Quite easy to get to if you have a car or bike. The road leading up to it is quite flat and doesn't require a 4x4, there is also ample parking space at the entrance for a very small fee. Lots of shops and small cafes/stalls here. There are also public toilets to use, again for a small fee. The waterfall itself is quite tall, and would be impressive if you haven't seen any big waterfalls before. There are 2 pools at the bottom for swimming but both are a little tricky to get to, so don't bring a pram or anyone who is less mobile to the pool area. It does get quite busy on a weekend with both tourists and local families so if you want to spend a day here arrive earlier to find your picnic spot :)

Beautiful waterfall and a pool to swim in; busy location. 20 BHT to park scooter (30 BHT for cars) They do elephant rides here too which I didn’t do but you can visit and feed them if you want (100 BHT for food).

It's a nice spot to cool off in the heat but very rocky and can be difficult to get down to if you have mobility issues. It was a little crowded. Bring wet shoes. Before you reach the waterfalls there are shops selling souvenirs and food. Toilets need to pay 5baht to use

Well worth a visit, although it was very busy 13.00 in afternoon. This made it difficult to take photos as too many people in such a small area. It may be quieter earlier in day and please don't be put off by the crowds.

The sign to this waterfall is just on the main road It’s a nice spot, not something out of the blue. They have an elephant riding option as well. Fresh fruits and refreshments along with souvenir shops are at the entrance of the waterfall.

It’s a nice waterfall but if it has rained the last few days it’s not worth the visit. Cannot really enjoy the waterfall and go into the water. Furthermore the elephant rides are an absolute NO GO! Parking costs money and bathrooms are just a hole in the ground.

The most beautiful waterfalls I’ve ever seen. The view from the top of na muang waterfall 2 is breathtaking. It’s a difficult hike and you will have to climb a part of it so definitely not for the faint of heart

Nice place to visit. Be aware it's very rocky if you wish to swim there. Make sure you take adequate footwear and swimwear.

Beautiful waterfall. It can get pretty busy at the entrance but if you climb over the ricks to the left snd around you will find more space snd get in the water.

  • 4/5 Globing G. 1 year ago on Google
Nice view, easier access than waterfall2 and most visitors arrive here first but you must go to waterfall2 as that one has magnificent view. I liked it but feeding the elephants was more fun. I headed to waterfall2 right after though. You have to go back to the main road and take the next left to reach there!

Be prepared to pay as soon as you want to park there. The waterfalls are beautiful if can forget all the touristy industry around.

👍👍 Awesome place, with stunning views. Make sure to take appropriate footwear for the steep but relatively short hike. Go past the car park as there is appropriate parking closer to the start of the walk. Also, BE CAREFUL on the rocks, I slipped, and I saw others do so too.
