Great little bar in Kobe. English speaking bar, with rooftop and if you are looking for stay - it has hotel rooms just above the bar. The food menu is custom everyday (they have it on glass) - had the dessert there, and it was delicious! It is a cash only place, so make sure to have something more than credit card xD Went on Saturday during April first week - live music was there, and it was fabulous, real treat for ears. Finally went to Bar Alchemy and what a fantastic introduction to this awesome bar in Kobe! The owner Paul is a cool cat who knows how to entertain his customers while entertaining himself!! The bartenders Doren and Damian are awesome and make some really cool and creative cocktails. The food was great too…we practically tried the entire menu including the popcorn and everything was 👌 Kudos to the chef! The vibe of the bar was rocking the day we went. Two bands…The Finesse (USA)and Shame Magic (Kobe) played and both were fantastic. Couldn’t have picked a better night to visit this awesome bar and very glad that it’s in Kobe…place that we call home. Five Stars and Highly recommended!

A great place with amazing cocktails, good music and ambiance, locals and visitors alike, and stellar food items from around 500 yen with main dishes around 1200 yen. A rare find, operated by the affable Paul and Jacob. There are dorm rooms and long-term stay rooms on the second floor. Check it out!

Alchemy is a cool bar, very friendly and just a nice feel, great band last night. Also has a roof top bar as well.

Went a few times back at the end of October 2023 when I was staying in Kobe. I had a great time there, the people are lovely and it's a very good vibe!

Came here with my girlfriend after reading the reviews and I'm glad I did. We visited on a Sunday night when they opened at 7pm. Later it became very busy! The drinks, food, staff, and customers were awesome!

Personally this is my favourite bar in Kōbe! The staff is very friendly and welcoming and the vibes of this place are extremely cool. Sometimes they also have live music. If you can’t talk Japanese and you feel like meeting new people, I only can you recommend this spot 💯 Thx for all! 🙏🏼 Javi

This place is such a fantastic place to be. The environment is awesome. It's not too noisy and not too quiet. It's just the right mood. They serve great food, great drinks, and other good little bites. No smoking indoors which is a huge plus for me. There is a smoking area outside. The staff is extremely friendly and professional. This place is definitely good vibes. Highly recommend without a doubt.

Lovely rooftop, more than reasonable prices. The best thing - staff. 2 friendly, literally breathing their bar guys. I got overnight in Kobe in the middle of the week and they completely made this time by chatting, entertaining me and organized tasting of local spirits and deserts. U will spend great time there, ultimately recommended)

With COVID, this has become my main "local hangout" here in Kobe. Good drinks, good company, nutty staff members. Open rooftop bar area is very nice (aka the "Ember Room"). I take my hand pan over to play for practice once in awhile.

I always love going here. It's chill and friendly. The food is great, and their drinks list is impressive. Don't miss the roof when you go! If it's a nice day, you can eat with a great view, 5F up.

Recently visited Alchemy during a trip to Japan. Was a fantastic experience, and was warmly welcomed by Doran and Paul (hopefully remembering their names correctly). Would definitely recommend for anyone to try to visit when in Kobe. Will visit again, as it was one of the highlights of my trip.
