Kobe Steak Propeller is a hidden small steak restaurant specializing Kobe beef and Wagyu beef. They serve a wide variety of beef lunch set menus including hamburger steak, wagyu fillet steak and Kobe beef steak. The must eat dish is Kobe Beef lunch set . It costs 3,000 yen(Tax excluded) for the smaller 100g portion. The Kobe beef tastes very juicy with full of flavor and the melt-in-your mouth pieces could be sliced with chopsticks. This restaurant has a good selection of quality wines as well. If you want to have a high quality Kobe beef in a great atmosphere, this is the place you should visit. Kobe Steak Propeller

I lived in Kobe for a short while and wanted to experience Kobe beef. This restaurant was recommended by two Japanese friends, who live on Kobe. I recommend booking a seat roughly 1 week before going and trying their dinner menus. Especially the 食べ比べ set, where you can compare regular Japanese and Kobe beef is great. I liked everything, even the price is great compared to all other places that sell Kobe beef.

The best Kobe beef steak experience! Not only is the food great, but the service from the staff is also superb as well. Well attention to details and so friendly. Will definitely come again for another meal.

July 2023 Quality wagyu with reasonable price 👏 Tried lunch combo and the special kobe beef sirloin combo (large). We did not regret spending any penny (I should say yen) here! Starters: Fresh green salad with signature local onion dressing that wad sweet and refreshing with a tiny bit of tanginess! The kabocha soup was served cold as well and probably one of the best I've tried! And the steak: Sirloin steak was juicy and melting in my mouth as soon as it touched my tongue! Couldn't describe any better than that. If you want to maximize the flavor, try it with their signature onion sauce. Peanut sauce was ok. The lunch combo steak came with a little bit thicker/American style rib eye cut looking steak. Good for the value yet highly recommend that you should spend extra $ to get the special sirloin or even go with the rib steak! Reservation recommended even if you want to dine in for weekday lunch. Card accepted and even if you didn't make a reservation, there's a waiting room right next to the restaurant. Bon Appétit!

Wow. We came and were very lucky to arrive when there was no crowd, so we only needed to wait about 20-30 minutes before being seated. The lunch options were tempting, but we decided to live it up and really go for the full experience. We each got one of the five course meals. This included a five-taste appetizer (an appetizer plate with five different items), a cream of cabbage soup with pork, freshly baked bread (the bread is unlimited if you ask), the Kobe beef, and coffee with dessert. Harrison got a variation that came with a lobster tail. We were blown away by absolutely everything that was brought out. Every item had a unique and bold flavor, and we left very satisfied. The staff was incredibly friendly and professional. The ambience of the restaurant is very homey and comfortable. Thank you all for such a delicious meal and wonderful experience!

Steak is good, nothing to fault. Well executed and good quality. Recommend to go for the ribs course, the meat is simply melt in mouth. Sauces were boring, lacklustre. Just use salt Nothing to shout about the other dishes Amateurish service by the waiter

We had for 65 dollars a 5-dishes full menu that included two kind of delicious Kobe beef, 80g per kind. One of us wanted well done meat and they managed to cook it very well for them too! Would definitely recommend if you're looking for Kobe beef. Staff spoke English.

We went for lunch and got the lunch sets, the beef were really delicious. We didnt get the expensive sets so we can’t say much about that but the cheaper 2000 yen steak sets were still worth trying. Service was amazing with very friendly staff too. There is even a large indoor waiting room with american themed decorations.

We hadn’t made reservations anywhere but found ourselves in Kobe at dinner time and wanted to try Kobe beef. We were here right when it opened and the three of us were seated right away. The place seats 18 people max. We tried three different types of Kobe beef steaks with the seat 5 course meal (appetizer, soup, steak +rice, dessert, coffee). Everything was delicious and the Kobe beef was so tender it melted in our mouths. Service was great and they have an English menu. Total for 3 people was 16,400 yen.

We tried to hv dinner at this restaurant at 7 on sunday night. We made reservation before we went. The restaurants were already fully occupied when we seated. Some foreigners and some were locals. We came in a group of 4 adults and 1 kid and ordered 4 set dinners. With two upgrade 40gram more. The portion were already good enough. The beef were so tender and it was amazing! Appetizers are refreshing and so many varieties. The pumpkin soup was so rich and smooth. Bread was freshly made and so hot. The dinner ends with a very tasty ice cream with berry syrup. We will definitely come again when we come Kobe next time!

I got the Kobe beef course meal for ¥8,800, and I added a lobster tail for ¥1,700. The food was just perfect. The server was friendly and she can speak English. Reservation is recommended; I reserved the night before with plenty of availability. Highly recommend!

I have seafood allergy, and they made changes to the appetizer to accommodate me. They were very attentive, and the service was quick, even when the place was full. The restaurant had a very relaxed atmosphere. Make reservations when you can since it gets full even around 8p.m.

We are tourists from Hong Kong and visited this restaurant on my hubby's birthday. The service was good and two young waiters were nice and polite. Beef very good taste. I told the waiter to prepare a candle on the dessert. He did it immediately and played a birthday song with a music box on the table. This was surprising. Worth dine here.

The food is very good and the beef is tender and delicious. Thankfully I was able to secure a reservation beforehand as it was fully booked when I got here. It is also the first time I have experienced eating beef only using chopsticks, but thankfully it was already cut into bite sized pieces. The only unfortunate circumstance during my visit was that there was a huge group of customers who were pretty rowdy and loud, ruining the atmosphere. Still one of the best meals I had in Japan.

Excellent restaurant with very friendly staff. Perfect to start a good day. Better to book a seat in advance as it’s quickly full

Excellent steak joint with an extremely affordable course compared to some of the kobe beef houses in Kobe. Keep in mind that it has less Japanese vibe both in terms of presentation and ambiance. But the food was phenomenal.

One of the best steak houses we’ve been in Japan so far. Highly recommend their steak lunch as well as their premium Kobe beef course. Excellent service and dinning environment. We will come back next time we are in the area.

The place is easy to find, only several minutes walk from the train station. When I got there (around 1.30pm) there's a line but the queue moved fast enough and the server was very attentive to the people outside; she came and go several time to make sure we're doing ok and to informed us about the table & menu. They have several Kobe beef set meal to offer (set is complete with appetizer, soup, side dish like rice or bread, drinks after meal, and dessert of the day), ranging from 4800 to 6500 yen. If you don't read Japanese, they provide an English menu as well. I tried their Kobe beef rump steak and it was okay. I got the sense that it's a quality beef but it lack of that 'melty' Kobe beef experience I was looking for. Tl;dr I think food wise it tasted subpar and nothing special, but service was superb, reasonable price, plus the place is charming.

Great place, very friendly staff and the atmosphere was really nice! And then besides those of course, the food was amazing. We really enjoyed yourself here. For sure might come back soon!

Melt in your mouth Kobe beef, only the loin cut. The lean cut was just a tad tough. But great food with reasonable price. Do they give out Kobe beef cert nowadays? 🤔

Stopped in Kobe for a quick lunch after doing zero research and was so happy that I found this place. Food, service, everything was a 10/10. I ordered a Kobe steak set and the soup alone was worth the trip from Osaka. I had such a good meal and was so happy when I finished. Already looking forward to coming back in the future.

Had the premium and non premium steak. Price was very reasonable but need to wait a little if no reservation. Worth eating just the normal a5

Tiny Resturant. Reservation highly recommended. For walk-ins there is an interesting “ waiting room” next to the Resturant, which is filled with what seems like the owner’s private collection. Was wondering is the owner a retired pilot- turned chef ? Service is great. Japanese staff able to speak some English and English menu available. They have wine too but didn’t try. Went for the special Kobe sirloin steak course meal. Interesting western and eastern combination of food. Highlight was of course the Kobe beef…literally melts in your mouth.

food was great, as was the service; menu and ordering via Line were both available in English

Waited for 1hr for our lunch, but....they had a 'waiting room' for us to sit n rest and out of the cold. Was about 20mins walk from Sannomiya Stn. Food was above average, place easy to find, ambience appropriate, price slightly on the high side if you want better beef. Service was the usual Japanese practice accorded. Overall, a pleasant experience. Lunch closed at 3pm, beware!

I really had to try A5 wagyu kobe beef here. Needless to say, it didnt disappoint me. Texture and fattiness was amazing. There was a 15-20 minute queue time as the restaurant is small with maybe around 20-30 diners allowed inside per time. They do serve a full course dinner experience but i recommend trying just "beef only" if you want to sample what kobe beef is.

A cozy restaurant serving Wagyu and Kobe Beef, English menu available. Like a little gem in a small street behind the main boulevard and busy shops in arcades. I highly recommend it for those who would like to try excellent Japanese beef without the teppanyaki show (and loads of tourists like Steak Land which is the spot of 95% tourists). I tried the diced wagyu beef lunch set at 2420Y, which comes with an amaziiiing soup. Other reviews also mentioned their soup. Loved the other sides. Thanks to R2 hostel for the recommendation!
