Fantastic vegan, gluten-free, never microwaved, chemical-free dishes served by young, passionate staff with a great sustainability mission. I loved the taste of everything & the atmosphere was friendly & relaxed. Really convenient location next to Motomachi JR station. Highly recommend- on my list of top 5 vegan eateries in Japan!

Very cozy and clean vegan restaurant. Staff is really friendly, explained what each item in their lunch sets very clearly. My experience overall was pleasant.

This place is great. Three reasons: 1. The vegan quiches are better than normal quiches. 2. Was introduced to the Japanese version of beet sugar? And other cool stuff! 3. Solid music. Also, they abide by a rule of not using a microwave, but still no snottiness. A natural wonder.

According to google maps and happy cow the place should have been open when I was visiting, however, it was closed and there was no indication whether it had been shut down or whether it was just temporarily closed. From the outside, it looked like it was closed for months.

It was a very calm and nice place where you could enjoy a good meal. It was not amazing but more than just food. Also afterwards you can sit and enjoy some sweets or tea, very nice atmosphere.

After moving to Kobe for the first time, I discovered this wonderful cafe! The food is so delicious and comforting. The service is impeccable, and I felt right at home! I wish the were open on the weekdays too! 💛

The meals are super tasty, fresh prepared and good price. The place is located in a very calm neighborhood. The staff are very friendly. Absolutely recommend it!

Delicious food! The quiche even had taro in it! Despite me not speaking any Japnese, the staff was very kind and helpful. I am grateful for a vegan restaurant in Kobe!!!

Ok, weird/funny review coming up: My first experience at cafe Thallo was back in 2017 and I had THE most delicious soymilk noodle dish there! Because it was so good I went back the next day to order the same thing again. Unfortunately I was told that they didn’t have any more. After I sat myself down with something else on the menu I noticed that my neighbor was about to dig into that very noodle dish I had actually wanted. I asked her how she got it because they were all out. The girl was actually working at Thallo and was on her lunch break and said that this was the last one. After telling her how much I had enjoyed the dish the day before, she - to my great surprise - offered the dish to me! Lol. I can’t retell this story without making it sound like I interrupted this girls lunch and then stole her food! But to this very day, I remember how incredibly sweet and generous this gesture was! I stopped by the next day again and as a thank you I presented the staff with a Swedish notebook containing a personalized sketch. If I ever go back to Japan again, I will definitely visit cafe Thallo! 🙏✨

Loved it! Healthy, clean eating that tasted delicious and kept me feeling great. The curry quiche was terrific. A limited menu.

Warning Story I had friends visiting Japan recently with their extended family, and one of them was having a birthday. Her daughter wanted help ordering a gluten-free birthday cake for her mum. I found Cafe Thallo online. They would do a birthday cake for just under 5,000 yen! Pretty expensive, but we went ahead. The birthday party was for 8 people. Imagine my shock and embarrassment when I took the daughter to pick up the cake from Thallo and they presented us with a tiny chocolate tart the size of a tea-cup saucer, with bananas on top. It was enough for one person - possibly two. There was no mistaking what we wanted. They included candles and a cookie with "Happy Birthday" written on it. It was so pathetic, the daughter chose not to get it out at the party. I'm still apologizing to my friend for ruining her surprise and making her pay nearly 5,000 yen for one chocolate tart from Thallo Cafe!! 警告ストーリー 私は最近大家族と一緒に日本を訪れた友人がいて、そのうちの一人は誕生日を迎えていました。 彼女の娘は、お母さんのためにグルテンを含まない誕生日ケーキを注文するのを手伝ってほしかった。 私はCafe Thalloをオンラインで見つけました。 5,000円弱でバースデーケーキを作ります！ かなり高価ですが、先に進みました。 誕生日パーティーは8人のためでした。 タロからケーキを拾うために娘を連れて行ったとき、私はショックと恥ずかしさを想像し、彼らは私たちにバナナを載せたティーカップソーサーのサイズの小さなチョコレートタルトを提示しました。 1人で十分でした-おそらく2人。 私たちが望んでいたことを間違えませんでした。 キャンドルと「ハッピーバースデー」が書かれたクッキーが含まれていました。 それはとても哀れだった、娘はパーティーでそれを出さないことを選んだ。 タロカフェのチョコレートタルト1枚につき60豪ドルを支払ったことを友人に謝ります!!
