Really interesting museum! A lot of boat maquettes from different era and from a lot of countries! Really interesting learning the history of the Kobe port. There is also some sim machines to drive a boat inside Kobe's port! The second part of the Museum focused on Kawasaki is absolutely a must see. It is incredible to discover what has been achieved by the brand and all the fields where it's involved! Timeline of the brand's achievements and milestones and display of motorcycles, old motors, train parts, helicopter etc! Collectible stamps available!

Kobe Maritime Museum is a percect place to go on field trips. Ship lovers would surely enjoy seeing replica and boat parts displays here. Aside from that visitors would also get the chance to visit the Kawasaki Good Times Museum which is also inside this museum.

Highly recommend to visit this place. Flight simulation (booking might be required). We managed to put our names on a waiting list and were given time to come back. Jet ski, motorcycles, robots in action and more. Kids loved this place. Tickets are very easy to by on entrance.

Place was closed when we arrived, so could post much about it except the exterior view. Nevertheless, managed to capture BE KOBE and the surroundings at this port. Very calm and serene place to be at, especially when the weather is nice and cool.

Not as good as I'd hoped on the shipping front, unless you are a fan of model boats. My early career was spent on ships and my hobby is motorcycling, so a highlight was seeing a H1 Kawasaki I used to own.

Very nice, but small museum of civil maritime tradition. No mention whatsoever of ancient or modern military vessels which I found a little odd. There are very few English descriptions, so be ready to use a translator a lot if you are not fluent in Japanese.

I really enjoyed this museum. Lots of English signs and only 900¥ per adult to enter. Had interactive areas that im sure are great for kids, but even I enjoyed them as an adult to "play". Would recommend highly if you have the slightest interest in maritime or Kawasaki history.

I get frustrated because there’s not the ship my family got to Brazil in 1935- Rio de Janeiro Maru and others ships that are important to the history of Japanese immigration to Brazil. The replica of first ship that transport Japanese immigrants to Brazil is small.

Quiet and empty museum on the weekday. Many ships on display but the best part is the Kawasaki Good Time World with a real Shinkansen, A LOT of motorcycles, a real helicopter, a flight simulator and more.

Nice museum both for adults and kids. For adults, you might find replicas of old to modern ships, Kawasaki vehicles, and engines. For kids, you might find several interactive plays such as model train, Shinkansen, robot, aeroplane, and even jetski. Been here in golden week and not very crowded. Very recommended to go with family.

For motorcycle enthusiasts, the Yamaha Museum in Iwata is bettervalue for money as it's free, and has just as many mororcycles exhibited. Frankly, the shipping exhibits here were just a model makers dream, of limited interest to an old seafarer like myself.

I came here when kid national day 子供の日. The admission 🎫 fee is 900 Yen for adult. The collection is cool and there is a name attached and the short history of the ship. Most of the ship collection is from 17 up to 19 centuries. and there is also history of kobe harbour and Kawasaki invention place. I think it's good for kids. But the minus point is there more explanation in Japanese than English. I hope there's more collection and more English explanation.

It is an educational place for kids to spend about 2 hours, it is located by the harbor. Upon entering, you are greeted with a model of ship from yesteryears, surrounded by smaller models of ships with great importance. As you move along, you'll see the history of the Kawasaki Industry (from Kobe) including Shinkansen Model 0 to container ships to motorcycles. There are some arcade games involving riding bikes and jet skis as well as a train conductor simulator. Near the end of the exhibition is an automated robot assembling on command. I went for Miku Exhibition.

The history of Kawasaki Heavy Industries. Great museum with plenty to do and see. You start off in the maritime section, which is full of highly detailed model boats and their history. Then there's KHI's history, with hammers, fans and everything else made by Kawasaki through the years which was cool to see. There isn't too many bikes here, though insanely cool cutaways of the H2R & Z1 900 motor with pristine examples sitting on display. What they do have here is just insane. From there, it's an interactive section with a lot of simulators, models, planes, trains, jetskis and everything else Kawasaki makes. Cheap admission at 900¥ and a great little gift shop with Maritime related goods and a lot of Kawasaki merch.

A small museum that offers a pretty cool look at the Port of kobe and the history of ships in Japan as well as lots of models of ships. Also there is a kawasaki museum that is quite nice!

Superb museum. They also have lockers with refundable deposits. The KAWASAKI museum is superb. Did not know that the company manufactures so much. Must if you are travelling with kids. They would love it

The Kawasaki museum is worth it by itself. If I were a 12-year-old it would be the coolest museum I’ve ever been to. The Maritime museum isn’t bad either, a great rainy day option.

It is a museum of Port Kobe integrating Arts, history and aquarium and presenting visitors with totally new experiences. It takes about 2 hours to go through all the exhibitions and enjoy the multi-media presentations slowly. The shows at the third floor “ shadow and light” are fantastic and the visitors should not miss it.

I passed by this museum when I visit the Kobe harbour. The building has a unique design and looks like a ship.

Great little museum especially if you like ships. There's a nice sized deck/patio on the second floor that allows you to get a better view of the harbor area. There are two simulator games, as well, where you can drive a ship to six locations in the harbor or pretend you're a long shore man and test your skills at moving shipping containers from ship to shore. Right now, for an extra 300 yen, you can purchase a combo ticket that allows you to go up in the tower. The museum also has a small Kawasaki museum within it. It displays the history of things built by Kawasaki and a few of the items are on display.

Lot of ship models. Unfortunately they have all different scales, so you can’t really compare sizes. The maritime part was quite boring. Some interactive game makes it more interesting. The kawasaki motorbike display and the few other transport related things were nice. For me the highlight was the shinkansen control room.

Had two sections. Maritime museum and the Kawasaki museum. We were able to go to both for one price.

This is a great museum for those who are interested in the port of Kobe. They also have an exhibit of Kawasaki vehicles, so fans of motorcycles should be pleased.
