Visited this area on a winter evening. Quiet and clean, nothing much to see here. Watched a cat successfully ambush a pigeon in the park. Cat went away after 15 minutes. Pigeon was miraculously still alive.

This was such a great place for looking at cherry blossoms. This was my first time in the area and I think I will come and visit again. The castle area was really nice and I had a good restful time.

What a beautiful place to visit! The castle ruins are especially beautiful with the changing foliage (I went the last week in November). If you are looking for a gorgeous, serene place to think and reflect, this is well worth a visit. Only a five minute walk from the station!

Absolutely amazing! The place puts a whole new meaning to the story. I recommend the Tokyo sites of sengakuji and ruins of Kira yoshinaka’s house as well.

The view from top is awesome, but not too much to see about the castle

There is a quiet pathway up to the castle. You get a good view of the park from up there.

Wonderful park with something for everyone. The main tower of Akashi Castle hasn't been reconstructed, but the walls and two turrets have been. The park is large and beautiful. There are sports fields, play grounds, picnic areas, ponds, streams and forest. It's a great place to go with family and friends. This is also a birding hotspot and a great place for nature lovers.

A pleasant park with remnants of an ancient castle and majestic hawks to keep you company. There is not a whole lot that remains of Akashi castle but it's enough to let your mind wander and imagine what it used to look like. I actually get a lot more out of ruins than many of the badly reconstructed castles you find so very often in Japan. Definitely worth a trip from Kobe.

(Visits: 1) (Castles: 50+) This is was about #30 on my top castle list. A quick detour from Osaka. This seemed like a really nice little town to visit. The train station was nice, a nice introduction to this place. The moment you get off the train you see the castle towers. Two towers and a wall are all that exist, but they are big on top of tall towers. This castle must have been massive in its day. The walk from the train station was really nice and the park was one of the best I have walked through. You can climb to the top of the ruins/wall on a viewing platform. For so-called ruins, these have been the best so far.

Lovely oasis in the concrete jungle. Beautiful grounds with many different walks. Perfect for family, walkers, runners and history buffs.

I have a lot of great memories of Akashi Park. Our family spent many Sundays enjoying the castle views, long walks in the park and playing with our kids in the playgrounds there.
