This area is bustling and vibrant. An eclectic mix of shops from top design brands to vintage. In the summer it’s pleasant to visit in the evening to avoid the heat but the shops close between 7 pm and 8 pm. It’s worth visiting more than once if interested in picking up a good bargain.

Shinsaibashi-Sub is 600 metres of retail therapy from discount to high end, surrounded by more shopping and tonnes of places to eat on the side streets. I'd read about it but nothing could prepare me for the experience. It can't be rushed, mainly because of the crowds, but also because there is just so much to see and buy. If you do need a break, I recommend a 20 minute cruise on the Dotonbiri river. It was fun, even with a light drizzle.

A busy shopping street located just in front of dotonbori street. The street is packed with locals and tourists. You'll find wide range of local shops, food restaurants, souvenirs, departmental stores and so on. Great experience inside the street, it is a long walk. Toilets are unable to be seen but we do suggest you go for the McD restaurant as it is free and along the street. A great place to shop after your food hunt in the area

A paradise mecca for shoppers. An immense array from local brands to international brands catering to all needs and wants. It attracts people from all over the place. Really crowded but definitely worth a visit!

Beautiful night view with all lights making it so colorful. Very crowded with locals and tourists. Better allocate enough time for this area if you want to do something shopping and have meals here apart from just taking some nice pictures. It is a paradise with great vibe for shopping and food.

Shopping enthusiasts visiting Osaka, this is a must! Shinsaibashi-Suji Shopping Street has an interesting array of high-end fashion stores with some unique boutique shops intertwined down this long stretch of a walk. Plus so many restaurants/food stalls in the little streets along the way to enjoy. You can definitely find yourself spending most of your morning/midday here shopping as we did lol the coolest part is when you get to the end of the street by lunch/dinnertime you have Dotonbori waiting to welcome you! The Pokémon center & the Shonen Jump store was amazing to stumble upon for the Otaku life. It does get crowded in these areas, much expected of course; Still very enjoyable!

A beautiful, complete and integrated market in which there is everything you need, the cheap and the expensive. It is a beautiful opportunity to discover another planet from all sides in terms of food and order. Life in general is different from what we are used to. You can only see their technology and system. It is an enjoyable experience.

We walked the floors at Dairuma and Parco, which had too many shops to count with almost anything you could imagine available for purchase.

Shinsaibashi is located on the north side of Minami , one of Osaka's two main shopping districts, and stretches from Midosuji , Osaka City's main street, to Shinsaibashi-suji shopping street , which is a straight line to the east . Shinsaibashi is the name of the bridge that originally spanned the Nagahori River. This area is home to a number of well-established department stores, specialty stores and luxury brand stores. Along with Ginza in Tokyo, it is a luxury brand district that represents Japan.

This place is a must go for anyone visiting Osaka. Colourful and lively night scene. Lots of things to see or buy. My teenage son was the one who insisted us to go there. Can be so crowded but that was the beauty. Lights and displays. It was really cool. Amazing night life experience in Japan.

It's the perfect place for shopping in Osaka, and you never get tired of it. The street is incredibly long, and the parallel streets also have many shops. I could come here every day without getting bored. Check my IG or TikTok for more content about Japan🇯🇵✨

This is where you take photos for your Instagram, Facebook and your memories. Osaka’s best tourist attraction at night. Neon and lights make up the beautiful views from every angle. Restaurants, cafes, and entertainment is everywhere here for kids to adults. This is the most famous spot for photos at night after or before your dinner. Like night market, but more organized and cleaner, thanks to Japanese standard and maintenance, it is always clean and safe. Shops and rivers, it is really attractive at night that makes you want to stay longer and take more photos.

A very popular and crowded shopping street in Osaka. Like many other shopping streets in Japan, it is covered providing shade from the sun and rain. There are many interesting shops and eating places here. Perfect for window shopping and savoring the local delights at the same time.

The neighborhood is very bustling with many commercial centers, supermarkets, shops with many high-end to affordable brands, especially Japanese domestic goods. Shopping for 3 hours comfortably 😜 And on the evening of New Year's Eve 2024, I welcomed the New Year in this neighborhood, it was very crowded and filled with a very enjoyable atmosphere.

It's a very long street with a roof that's been built over the street. As such, it makes for great shopping. The variety of shops though, leaves a bit to be desired. It's mostly shops selling skin care, shoes, clothes, and snacks. There are no shops selling electronics.

Really long shopping arcade that is a must-do if visiting Osaka for the first time. You can walk all the way from St. Regis Osaka at Hommachi station and cut through the central area under the covered street, so weather is not a deterrent. Really good bargains to be had at nameless tiny shops, lots of restaurants and general Osaka character. i love going there.

Provided I spend the better of 4 days in total exploring every shop that piqued my interest in this shopping street, I think It is safe to say the place is bound to please anyone that is even remotely into clothing.

This is the most popular and crowded shopping street in Osaka, there is a lot of restaurants, cafe, and many other food shops. I came here on April 2023 and it was raining hard. When I was here, my family goes straight for the 10 Yen Pancake shop, we were also lucky that there is no queue line. It's a simple cake with mozzarella cheese in the middle, it is really good eating freshly made cake in rainy season. I also found a good Takoyaki shop and ordered one with green chives while waiting for the rain to stop.

Full of shops with local and international brand. A lot of tourist and local will go around and hunt for goodies. There are bakery, restaurant, cosmetic shop, luxury branded goods, second hand goods, local shopping mall, disney merchant shop, jewellery shop, ice cream shop, dessert shop, ocha merchant shop and etc. Full of vibrant colour and people. Eatery place can be very crowded during peak hours which the famous 1 is always having queue. They are almost more expensive compare to other places.

This is a must visit place in downtown Osaka where one can simply spend a day here to see, shop and eat! And the place is always fulled of visitors, adding vibes and vibrancy to the place. In our recent revisit to Osaka, we also went there and as we were there early (around 10am), it was not that crowded then but in about an hour's time, it's packed with people. Lots of cafes, restaurants, eateries, departmental stores, among the boutique, pharmacy and convenience stores are in the area and so you need not worry where to shop or eat!

There were hundreds of shops lined up here. I see people actually bring luggage bags with them here so they can carry all of their shopping! Many different stores here from shoes, clothes, second hand luxury bags, cosmetics as well as restaurants. It's a very long walk and I was pretty exhausted by the time I got to the end.

A really Long street of amazing stores, restaurants, international brand, department stores and more. You will find something here for yourself. The street links to Dotombori and it’s great. There’s so many stores that you can just walk in and take a look. The best stores are the 300yen stores, drugstore if you need cheap face wash, drugs, cream etc. I have walked this street so many times and there’s still so many things to see. Highly recommended! There’s many restaurant that offers amazing food here and Dotombori.

fancy market. I love the coffee bean from this market. You can find it easily. The sushi bars are also well known here. The crab is so fresh and big size. I also love shopping shoes from this market. During new year there is also light illumination shows around the area close to this market.

Shinsaibashi shopping street, sheltered walkway with both sides lined with shops. Can get a bit crowded during weekends and peak hours.

  • 5/5 Christoph W. 1 year ago on Google
Shinsaibashi is the main shopping area in Osaka. Lots and lots of shops and restaurants. And even more tourists crowded the area. However, one must visit Shinsaibashi while in Osaka even if just to soak up the energy and vibe of the city. Go at night for a dazzling night view with all the neon signs. There is sure to be something, whether shopping or dining, for everyone.

Endless line of shops and restaurants go through many blocks in the city. If you go by subway, mark the point you get out on the map as it would be hard to locate station entry after walking a couple of hours. It’s great fun to do shopping and look around. There is large variety of items you can buy including famous brands, books, sports gear, etc.

People mountain people sea 👭👬 There are many tourists from all over! There are tons of drugstores, second-hand stores, food, snacks, convenience stores, and more! It is recommended to compare prices before shopping. Be careful not to stay too late cause maybe a little bit dangerous. Here also have department store here

Visiting Namba area and dotonbori street then mark this place in your things to do in osaka. Shinsaibashi-suji Shopping Street begins at the Ebisu Bridge located right in the middle of Dotonbori. Very crowded street with most of local and some of international brands.

First time visit, shopping, street food, restaurants hopping heaven, so many streets connected from one area to another, can get lost easily cause everywhere looks quite similar, of course not entirely the same, I love it!

Impressive shopping street with a roof; endless, loud, full of people and full of stores which can be an assault on the eyes; however it is definitely worth a stroll through and a look at its most exhuberant stores. Very trafficked overall.
