Loved every moment. The fact Tadanori changed his style so much throughout his (still ongoing) career made it super interesting. We went for the End of Ego exhibition and I was blown away but the magnitude and thoughtful nature of each work. The recent paintings reflecting on his time as a child, after the war, were really powerful. Also loved his

This is a limited entry museum (or at least it was during my visit) so I strongly recommend purchasing a ticket ahead of time in order to ensure your entry. This was a great museum and the theming was well done and well presented. I did not purchase a ticket ahead of time and only had around a 20 minute wait but I am unsure as how long it could take. This info is also directly provided by staff so if you do not speak Japanese you would do well to get an advance ticket. The museum itself is 3 floors of art with the final being the permanent exhibit and being rather small. I am unsure if a ticket for just the permanent exhibit is an option, but regardless at just 700¥ you should pay to see it all. All titles are displayed in English and Japanese as well as info about the displays such as their inspiration/origin. Directional signage is also offered in both languages

We are lucky to visit this new exhibition open just today on 1 Feb. If you are in the area till 10 May 2020, we strongly recommend this exhibition. The curatorial statement is strong and all works are nicely associated.

Great experience at the scary exhibit! The kind staff knew enough English for me to get a ticket. Security was pretty tight throughout the exhibit. I did like that I could take pictures. I also found the maze pretty cool 😎

Not an art person myself but to accompanied my wife to wander around this cool museum. I don't know about art but I love the set up here. Will I be coming again? As long as my wife wanted to, I don't mind to visit again. All in all it is a coo place for those right people. If you are an Art enthusiast, highly recommended to pay a visit here when in town.

One of my favourite Japanese artists 😍 His use of colour, collages, versatile style over the years (as an extremely prolific artist) are worth experiencing. I go there regularly, and it amazes & inspires me every time. If you love art, plan to spend a few hours here to soak up the art. You can take pictures, but don’t forget to enjoy them! 😉 Pro Tip 💡 Make sure to visit the free Yokohama Tadanori museum upstairs where you can see his contributions to the environment & his amazing architectural projects. Enjoy sitting out at the stairs enjoying the sea view in between the buildings on the same floor, or just take a quiet & contemplative rest lying down on the benches overlooking the beautiful mountains in the North. It’s soothing to walk, sit, just be there. The museum cafe has decent & affordable coffee & small lunch sets/ snacks to enjoy while enjoying the sea view as well. Best not to rush & make it a healing & inspiring day trip! 👩‍🎨

A great show and an imaginative and creative installation of this artist's work spanning most of his career. Also on display, is his personal collection of works of other notable artists. Don't miss it! Easy access, near the front of the gallery, by city bus.

Museum says it’s open on but actually closed for maintenance. I walked all the way from the center. Its so unprofessional.
