Arrived
at
breakfast
for
9:40am,
and
this
is
how
the
conversation
went:
“Breakfast
finish
9:30”,
“oh
ok
fair
enough,
I
see
a
few
pastries
left
over
could
I
have
one
please
I’m
very
hungry”,
“no
breakfast
you
have
to
pay
and
it’s
finished”,
“ok
but
what
will
you
do
with
leftovers,
throw
them
away?”
“Yes”,
“ok
wouldn’t
you
rather
not
waste
food
and
just
give
it
to
a
guest
of
the
hotel?”
“No”
so
with
this
I
go
to
the
front
desk..
“is
there
a
manager
around?”
“No
manager
today”
(there
is
always
a
duty
manager
in
a
hotel)
“ok
I
will
ask
you,
how
does
a
hotel
that
says
it
is
eco
friendly
throw
away
food?”
The
staff
then
talk
in
Japanese,
“it
will
be
given
to
staff”
“ok
good
but
can
I
just
have
one
of
them
as
well?”
“No”…
ridiculous
levels
of
order
and
control,
there
is
zero
sympathy
or
bending
whatsoever
of
any
rules
regardless
of
common
sense.
A
guest
simply
asks
for
a
leftover
pastry
and
told
no?
So
ridiculous
it
borders
on
stupidity.
