This hotel wins alone just by being right next to Kobe station! And if you pay a "little" more than the basic twin room, you actually do get a decent sized hotel room, with a pretty good view too! Window can be opened for some fresh air but is restricted by a safety device so it opens only for about 6 inches. In-room tea-making amenities include a high end stainless steel Delonghi electric kettle, nice ceramic mugs and saucers and some green-tea bags. A 2-pin extension coming up from the desk provided power for the kettle. A good sized TV (must be at least 50") hangs on the wall facing the bed. What's refreshing is the room actually has good space to stretch out (rare for Japan in this price range). A small night stand separates the bed from the wall, which is wall-papered all around with neutral beige textured designs, and a matching darker themed wall at the back wall of the bed. As with many Japanese hotels, an electric air purifier/humidifier is provided along with a pair of disposable bedroom slippers. The attention to detail goes right down to the provision of a shoe horn and shoe brush hanging by the door! Breakfast was available for an extra charge at the lobby restaurant, but we didn't try that since we felt food was fairly easily available around, even at the train station (which had a food court) . Overall, this hotel represents a great value for everything that was provided, and of course, the location. This was actually the second time I've stayed at this hotel, and would definitely come back again if I'm ever in the Kobe area.

Had a very pleasant stay here. I arrived too early for check-in buy I was still allowed into the room ahead of time. Services and information were available in Japanese, English, Korean and Chinese. The room was very spacious (for Japanese standards), had a big TV with Netflix, a complimentary cell phone with free data and international calls during your entire stay at no extra charge, and a very high and comfortable bed. Fridge, a kettle for hot water and any bathroom products you could need were also present. The bathroom itself was very small and had a pretty low ceiling. Being 1.90m myself I couldn't fully stand up in the shower which makes showering a bit uncomfortable. Besides that only positive experiences. Location is great too. Convenience store next door, cheap food restaurants across the street, Kobe station across the street (with more shops & restaurants) and karaoke and supermarket within 5min walk.

The rooms are pretty chic, I liked the decor. Breakfast was fine, and the staff was very nice. The location was fantastic, right next to the JR Kobe station, it was sooo easy to get around! My only gripe was that all the common areas smelled of smoke, but since smoking is still common in Japan it's not a big deal, plus the room didn't smell of it at all. Definitely recommend.

We stayed here couple of nights. It’s very close to the Kobe station, very well located. The hotel has a bit of an old charm, the style. The hotel is very clean and very well kept. Both the bedrooms and the bathrooms are very clean, and well maintained. The carpets look a bit worn and you can smell a bit of cigarette smoke in the hotel as it here are smoking rooms in the same hotel. Beds are very comfortable and so are the pillows and the duvet. We found everything we needed in the rooms and anything else we wanted was downstairs in the lobby.

This was a nice hotel, it was centrally located. The train station was only a block away which is great. The room was comfortable and cool. We did not really like the breakfast buffet but everything else was great.

Normal room but with good amenities (shampoo, lotion, facewash, and a great hairdryer) But the room smells like cigarettes even if we request a non-cig room.

2 minutes from JR Kobe station. Kind staff. Ms Cheng checked us nicely. Thank you Ms Cheng. Hotel was quite. Not crowded. 2st floor was front desk and lobby. There are many seats with free space. They gave us free amanities. You can taste Ceylon tea. Room was with queen size bed with sofa. Clean bathroom and toilet. Provided the room cleaning as we hoped. Other staff helpful. We had a great time. Thank you we will stay again.

According to the advertising this hotel was refurbished and reopened in January 2020. If that was the case, they didn't renew the carpet in the rooms which is filthy. We booked a 'superior twin room' but there was nothing superior about it. The windows didn't open because the brick wall of the next building was only 300 millimetres away! The room was dark because there was no natural light, and airless because the was no air flow. We rejected the room and were offered another which was not much better, and stank of cigarette smoke. We rejected that too, and we're eventually given a smaller 'standard twin room' with light and air, but facing a very noisy road. There was a price difference between what we paid for and what we got, but we were not given a refund. We were also given long, detailed instructions about the hotel (in Japanese) but Japanese guests were not subjected to this strict outline of the hotel's expectations of guests. It seemed there was an idea that foreign guests were either stupid, or don't know how to conduct themselves properly. The bedding is excellent. There are better hotels with better pricing and attitude toward tourists in Kobe. The Centurion Grande is just another business hotel, and while it may be good enough for Japanese salarymen, it should be the last place on your list if you're a visitor from overseas.

Lovely hotel with kind staff members, that gave us clear instructions. The hotel is about a minute from Kobe station. Room is very clean and neat, and our view from the room is fantastic. My wife and I are on our honeymoon, and they decided to upgrade our room and wished us a wonderful stay at the hotel. Overall a great hotel that is definently worth the price. 👍

Fantastic location by the station. Room was large for Japan. Very clean. Great staff. We dropped our bags prior to check-in and they had been taken to our room. Over and above expectations!!!

Staff services are satisfactory but the room is not set properly. It makes clients feel uncomfortable in room. The decorations are quiet old and electric plugs are not sufficient and inconvenient. People basically could not sit properly and comfortably.

This hotel has a great location! It’s right next to the Kobe train station, near the water and local shopping. There is no onsite parking but there are several parking areas on the block. We found one at the corner. Initially, when coming into the hotel there is a glamorous feeling with different prints and mirrored mosaics. The check in counter had the smell of food but that could have been because the restaurant is attached. It’s an odd location. There is no separation of check in / lounge / restaurant. It was off putting. I felt as though it was also a privacy concern for myself personally. The staff was kind. No issues there at all! Moving up to the room! When I booked, I knew it was a hotel that accepted smoking in some rooms however, I booked a nonsmoking room. I verified that it was a nonsmoking room upon check in and indeed the room had no smoking signs, but the room reeked of cigarettes or just the hotel in general? I immediately noticed that there was nowhere to put my suitcase. Where’s the suitcase rack? The linens on the bed were luxurious and the king bed was phenomenal to sleep on. The pillows had the annoying little balls in them. I wish the pillows were softer. My family and I slept incredibly well with the window open. 😏 The toiletries were lovely and everything we needed. There was a deep soaking tub and adjustable shower head. Beware of the bathroom ledge. It’s a toenail breaker. 😂

It is a wonderful hotel to stay in and people will never be too late to go anywhere because there is a railway station near the hotel within 2 minutes of approach.

Really clean, modern and nice hotel. It was really close to the station which made it so easy to get around Kobe. You could also walk aswell. Lawson shop open 24/7 next door. Many bars and restaurants close by. Helpful and nice staff. I will definitely come back next time I’m in town

Amazing! The bed was amazing, the linen high class. The room was sparkling clean. Location is great especially if you own a JR pass. It truly felt like the most luxurious stay for a budget rate. I highly recommend this hotel

Great station! Clean, tons of shops, lots of GOOD food options for any age. Located near all the good sightseeing spots. Quick walk to Harbour land and Mosaic. Well labeled in English.

Dirty, dusty and smoky. Smells heavily like smoke throughout the building, even in non-smoking rooms. Got a headache after just 20 mins being in the room. Possibly the worst hotel I have been in. Looks like the place hasn’t been vacuumed or properly cleaned in quite some time. Find somewhere else to stay.

This hotel is a basic hotel that is perfect for a few night stay. It’s nothing luxurious, but the beds are comfortable and the rooms are spacious with a sitting area. It’s right across from the train station, which made traveling around SO much easier. We didn’t hear or feel the train from our room. It was walkable to numerous restaurants and a Starbucks. The only negative I can think of is that the hotel smells like cigarette smoke, which is not uncommon in Japan. When I forgot my laptop on the shin, the front desk attendants went above and beyond to help me locate it! I can’t tell you how much I appreciated their help!
