all my homies love midnight international bar. non pretentious chill bar. drinks aren't so expensive and they're all really good. there's also food although I've never had any of it I've heard its good.

During my first staying in Kobe I was brought to this bar by a colleague. Honestly, it was great. Very good cocktails, friendly and international atmosphere (a Japanese colleague told me he came to this place to practice his English), and the owner - Matt, from New Zealand - knows his stuff. Very crowded on Saturdays, cozy and good for conversations on Sundays. If you are passing by in Kobe, that´s the place to stop for at least one beer (and the t-shirts are awesome!).

This bar was formerly known as Midnight Express and it was one of the best places in Sannomia for after hour parties back when I was living in Kobe from 2008 to 2011. It brought back many fond memories walking in here after 12 years. I was greeted by Kevin who was very welcoming and accommodating. He was super friendly to talk to and gave me many tips on where to go and where to eat in Kobe as he helped me get re-orientated back with Sannomia Area. Midnight International still has the same vibe as it used it as it still attracts a wide international and local crowd. The people who frequent here are pretty chill out and easy to talk to and it’s highly recommended if you are new in town and want to make some friends.

Always a great time when going there. Good selection of beers and cocktails. Some games available to play if you're a group or meet a new friend.

Great place. It’s very welcoming, almost to welcoming, now I think about it suspiciously welcoming..😂 It’s a mix between travellers, locals and expats. All three bartenders were great. Very nice selection of beers, and the beer I had chosen for me by the bartender was very fruity and good. Very charismatic and fun bartender, we had a very good time despite it being a Monday afternoon. I never would have thought that a bar trip would be my best memory from my Japan trip, but he made it so!

Cool drinking place, pub style bar, with a lot of different bottled and draft beers offered for a reasonable price. The place is a reference for expats and foreign people to drink with English speakers. The owner is very kind and the all the staff speaks English. The place is very small, but it wont get to be a problem. Located in the heart of Kobe's nightlife, definitely one of the best options for foreigners to have a good time drinking with friends or strangers.

Over the last three years this local spot has made so many positive changes- from offering craft beers on tap to redesigning the interior to keeping the bathroom nice as well- that I have to simply say - well done! It certainly feels like a solid neighborhood establishment and experience. Friendly people abound as well as many regulars. At this point, I only hold back a 5-star rating due to two lingering issues: 1) the smoky atmosphere and 2) limited range of eats. Once both of those gripes are properly addressed, it will be hard to stay away.

Only!? Canadian / Kiwi owned bar in Kobe, with over 20 selections of beer (bottled included). They get a lot of non-Japanese and quite busy on the weekends. The entrance is kind of hard to find the first time, but look for the A-frame sign on the corner, and it's just up the elevator on the 5F floor. No smoking at the bar counter.

Great staff, fantastic selection of craft beer and awesome music. I saw they had craft beer so I decided to check it out. They have only 2 taps but the beer they had was amazing. They also have a huge beer fridge with about 30 different bottles. I will visit every time I am in Sannomniya for my craft beer fix. Thanks guys!
