I don't often take pictures of my food here, and despite coming here all the time, I've never reviewed it. You know why? Because this place is absolutely second nature for me. If I want Indian curry, I go to Alok. I barely have to think about it. Other Indian food in the area can't compare to the price and quality of the food here. Not only is the food great, the prices are SO affordable. You can get curry and rice for 650 yen, y'all! At a quality about 500 times better than other cheap curry options. You have to eat here. You must. It will open your eyes to how good Indian food can be!

I've been to a number of Indian and Nepalese restaurants in Japan. ALOK is the one I keep coming back to and comparing all others to, and it remains on top. Well priced sets with quality. ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️

Good place. Fast service. The keema curry was very good. Be warned, the naan in the lunch set is really, really big.

Off all the places we ate Indian dinner in Japan, first prize goes to this hidden gem in Kobe. We can do shin-Kobe for botanical garden. After that we decided to take green train and went here for dinner. Lady host was so graceful and welcoming, amazing food and service.

I had really been looking forward to coming here as a friend who is a real foodie had recommended it and it has good reviews so I was a little disappointed. I got the 900 yen half cheese nan (chicken curry) lunch which is a pretty reasonable price as it comes with a drink, salad and soup too. The curry just didn't taste very rich or flavourful and was a bit watery, there wasn't much chicken in it, the chicken tasted rubbery, the amount of curry wasn't a full portion in the bowl, the portion of rice was quite frankly pitiful..about 2 small spoonfuls, only the cheese nan was ok but it was only a half portion so I was tempted to order another plain nan or a portion of rice but I didn't. I wasn't very full or satisfied after having lunch here. I wouldn't come back here in a hurry as there are better options in the same building. The hunt for a good Indian curry in Sannomiya goes on.

Tasty Indian food in Kobe, though a bit dialed down to suit the Japanese palette spice-wise. Excellent biryani. Curries were good, but slightly on the sweet side. Friendly service!

Very nice and inexpensive Indian / Nepal restaurant. Good food selection, friendly staff. Six people had dinner together and we all enjoyed it. We all would definitely go back again. Average cost was around 1200 yen. Mango lassi was excellent!

Both the chicken tikka roll and the seekh kebab roll were wonderful. Ordered a shrimp salad the first time too, and the salad was huge. Ended up asking for the chicken tikka roll packaged for take out, which they were happy to do. Second time just ordered the seekh kebab roll with a salty lassi(not on the menu but again they were happy to make it). Great food and service.

This review is after 2years of staying in Kobe and eating almost everyday at this place. I wish I could give it a 100 stars. Trust me the quality of food, taste, ambience and the presentation of food is not less than a five star hotel back in India. Now comes to the taste it is much better than what it taste in Indian restaurant in Japan or even in India. I have taste the food in more than 100 of Indian restaurant in Japan. Be it Tokyo, Osaka, Kyoto, Kobe or in Nagoya I have visited many Indian restaurants at above area of Japan in my stay of 2 year but I never found the taste what I had at Alok. Almost all the items listed in the menu I have tasted and if you will ask me what to order I won't able to recommend you one on another. BUT CHEESE NAAN IS MUST TASTE OVER HERE. Do not forget to order if you are cheese lover and want to taste it in Japan. You will never gonna get this type of cheese naan in any other Indian restaurant of Japan. Prices comparing to other Indian restaurant is Too competitive. After the taste, quality and quantity of the food the prices are very very less. You will never gonna regret for paying here. Some people will find difficult to find the place but it is in B1 of San Plaza. Sannomiya. My recommendation 100%if you are visiting Kobe and want to have Indian Food.

Best curry and naan in Sannomiya! The naan is HUGE, warm, and delicious - there’s even an All You Can Eat Naan order. The restaurant is often crowded, but the wait is never long, if there even is one. The staff is friendly, there’s an English menu, and there’s a TV on the wall that has T Series on 24/7 hahaha.

It is a must visit restaurant when you are in Kobe. They serve delicious and spicy food! The wait is a little bit timely. The Biryani rice is really good!

One of the best Indian-Nepalese restaurants I’ve been to here in Japan. Their mix fried rice, vegetable curry, and garlic tandoori are divine! I’m so glad my friend introduced me to this place because I really felt like I got my money’s worth. If you’re ever in Kobe and are craving for something Indian or Nepalese, come here. I would definitely return in this place next time. I would also like to say that I appreciate how kind the owner is. Service is 👌🏻💯
