Interesting sake museum with real old school sake making tools on display. There is a 10 minutes introduction video in Japanese and English. There are 2 kinds of wine to take at the end of the tour. Lots of yummy otsumami to taste at the gift shop. Very friendly usher personnel. Not very crowded on a Friday afternoon.

Free entry. Small but very informative museum. Good info in English too. The shop offers some sake samples to try. And the sake and plum wine are really good.

Back to Kobe for the second part of my sake breweries tour. This is Day 2 of exploration which I went solo. Day 1 was the first 3 breweries that I visited last year to buy some goodies I want to bring back. This one was one of the furthest of the few breweries in the area so quite difficult to visit all 6-7 of them at once since they close early in the evening too. Anyways, nice small shop. Recommendations of the day were umeshu and nama genshu. Some Valentine's chocolates too.

Free of charge, Well-built medium sized museum detailing the history of local brand sake: sawanotsuru. It's further from the other sake museums (hakutsuru and kiku-masamune) but it's still worth the visit. I like their barrel-aged sake experiment (I also like whisky)

Good explanation with some English wording too. Now we know that making sake is much a long process. There is sake testing too.

We enjoyed visiting this place. The history was fantastic. The video in the main hall is played in multiple languages so we got to enjoy the video which explained the sake making process. At the end of the tour, there were 2 sakes we could try which we nice, but other places on our sake tour had 3 or 4 sakes to try. Would recommend visiting this place just to see the history behind sake.

Great place with nice video in english at the beginning, Museum describing all the tools and process for sake making. And to finish, sake tasting for visitors, good Museum. We went there near the closing time, but you can stay there around 2hours.

The museum has free admission and the tour was rather interesting - the museum shop offered a small sake tasting and some nice bottles for purchase. I would recommend a visit if you're in the region.

Interesting museum about japanese sake. Some of the video presentations could have been updated and with subtitles but other than that a good place to visit. Plus you get to try the sake at the end. Plum wine was great.

If you are interested in sake, it is a must do. I would strongly suggest you also go for the Kobe Shu-Shin-Kan brewery where you'll be able to taste amazing sake especially the unpasteurised one you can only taste in Japan. Make sure you call in advance (2-3 days) for a tour. The museum does not require booking and is amazing in details.

The lady at the front door was really rude and no explanations of whatsoever was given. Worth going to have a look around and for the free tasting. If you bring in a visitor coupon, they will give you a small gift. And, positive side of it is that the plum wine here is really tasty and has won awards.

It was an interesting museum, but a bit far to go to. If you like sake, you would enjoy to go there.

Beer hall
👍 It is a long-established Sapporo beer hall in Kobe. It collapsed during the Great Hanshin-Awaji Earthquake, but is now operating in a new building. The fried chicken is very delicious and famous. It's the perfect place to have a beer and talk with your friends.

Super public bath
👍👍 Very VERY nice hot spring. There’s like two types of “onsen” the outdoor type and the indoor type My personal favourite is the outdoor bucket (?) onsen because you have a mini hot tub all to your self haha Anyways, the entrance fee is pretty expensive to be honest but it’s kind of understandable...

😐 This hot spring is located near JR Sumiyoshi Station, and can be reached on foot between JR and Hanshin Uozaki Station, but there is a Sumiyoshi Higashimachi bus stop in front of the hot spring, and there is a bus (route 39) that leaves from Hanshin Mikage Station (also passing in front of Hanshin S...
