Best thing about Miraiza? The soft serve ice-cream! Go thru the main entrance, turn left, take 10 steps and the ice cream shop is on the right. Forget those fancy restaurants (though the rooftop restaurant looks pretty good), the ice-cream is the hidden gem in this place. Don't trust me? Get an ice-cream (I prefer the smooth milk) take it outside, sit on the sidewalk and watch people salivate as they watch you enjoy it under the cool breezy day in front of the Castle. A definite win.

A great place to explore when you visit the Osaka Castle. This building also has an interesting history in the area and now houses several souvenir shops, cafes, restaurants and public facilities. In the heat of the summer, this place is air condition and a good place to come in and cool down. There's also a mini museum with the complete history of the Osaka Castle. There's also a few water machine here.

The Miraiza Osaka-Jo is a old building with history, now it has been transformed into a modern commercial complex. There are shops , restaurants, cafe and rest areas. It's a pity that the 2nd and the roof floors were closed in winter time. A small history room about the Osaka Castle is on the ground floor.

Shopping centre in the grounds of Osaka Castle. This is a fun place to visit with souvenir shops, a café and a restaurant on the top floor. The restaurant was just closing when we arrived, so we went down to the café and had pricey, but high-end cups of tea/coffee there, served by very helpful and friendly staff. The building itself dates from the 1930s and was originally an army facility, and then the local police HQ. Worth a visit to enjoy the 1930s vibe, the café and the shops.

We stopped to eat first before getting to the castle. Good service and good food.

The building has a very fancy exterior and there seems to be some historical significance behind it but it's just a tourist gift shop with some food places inside.

Visited on a whim after spending some time at Osaka Castle - thought this was an unexpected delight. Check out the Ninja shop - some great and wild merch here!
