Great museum. Really interesting exhibits. Beyond the usual things there are lots of other incidental items dotted around the site. Beyond that of course this place is famous for its collection of cherry trees. Well worth making the effort to get out here. Lovely to walk around the surrounding area along the river too. There's no entrance fee because people complained that they were trying to 'make money' ;-)

(Translated by Google) Visited at 14: 30-15: 30 on Saturday in November. (Last entry is at 16:00, last exit is at 16:45) Regardless of Saturday, the number of people I saw in the hall was easy to go with less than 20 people. Arrived while taking a walk along the river from Tenmabashi Station on the Tanimachi Line. Free of charge. There were not too many exhibits and not too few, and we spent about an hour in the hall without getting tired of handling things that are quite familiar to us as money. It was displayed so that the history of the Mint and the ingenuity that has been elaborated on Japanese money were easy to understand. There is also an exhibition corner where children can enjoy, so I think it's okay to bring parents and children together. When I went there were many couples, couples, etc. (I went alone ...). There were no postings that prohibited photography in the hall, but I went around without taking pictures. But there was a place to take a commemorative photo. Can I pay for it? It was stating! Famous for its cherry blossoms, but the autumn leaves were just beautiful (Original)

The Mint Museum Sakura walkway is fantastic during spring/full blooms because you can see hundreds of varieties of cherry blossoms. It's interesting to walk through and compare and appreciate the differences of each variety. Every year they have a "cherry blossom variety of the year" so keep you eye out for which is this year's blossom! At the end of the walkway there is a place where you can see that year's cherry blossom on a mint piece, cool souvenir. The walkway is one way only so be sure to enter the right place. There are plenty of people directing foot traffic so it should be easy to identify. Also be aware that cherry blossoms are plants and do not bloom on command! Since there are many varieties, they will not all bloom at the same time. If you are lucky to be there during a majority if the trees' full bloom, take your time and enjoy! The daylight and night time experiences are also very different and beautiful in their own way. On the walkway below and running parallel to the cherry blossom walkway are many food and game vendors. Lots of beer, street food, and sweets available! Perfect for a snack or meal + cherry blossom viewing.

Although there is no word in English (except for: thank you for not touching) the museum's collection and the drawings describing the history of coins are very interesting. There is no admission fee and despite of that the museum was almost empty. You can also try to pick up sacks of coins that weigh from 5 to 20 kg ( or something like that). I would recommend everyone even non-Japanese speaking. Beautiful garden with around 150 different species of cherry trees.

Admission is free, and the museum was way better than I thought. Although they lack English descriptions I think they make it up for it by having a few videos and the coins on display. Access is easy by bus from Umeda station.

It was a beautiful spring morning when we arrived here. While we originally intended to look at the sakuras only, the museum looked quaint enough from the outside, so it piqued our interest. It was great to see the history of the Japanese currencies and also enjoy the beautiful sakuras. I managed to find a green sakura which I have never seen before. Awesome experience and thoroughly enjoyed it.

Great mint museum with free entrance fee. You'd see many historical pieces of power equipment for coin manufacturing. If you are walking from the riverside, you might take a long trip as the premise has a very tight security with fences. Their coin verification machine is quite fun for kids as well.

Very interesting insight into the history of Japanese money. I was fortunate to visit as part of a school trip so we had a guided explanation in Japanese and factory tour too (not sure this is available for all). Free to enter. There is an English section on their website. I imagine it is very beautiful by the river in spring.

Especially those who like commemorative coins should definitely go. In spring, the cherry blossom trees are also famous. A great place to bring the family. There's a section for kids so they can take advantage of the videos to learn more about the mint. The museum even allows you to purchase numismatic products on site but remember that it is a for profit agency so you will pay a premium on them. I was drawn in by the cherry blossoms and when you're walking it is a bit tricky to get into but once you're there you won't be disappointed. It is free and there are areas where photography is not allowed so keep that in mind as you tour the facility.

Fantastic and a must see site. It is conveniently located near my hotel. Easy to check in. Museum is not terribly large but very well organized and presented. While I wish there is more English or Chinese description, I read enough to understand the history. Physical money has been important in history, but becoming even more so in a capitalist society like Japan after Meiji took power and made Japan an industrialized country based on specialization and commerce. Emperor Meiji stopped at this spot when he took power and visited Osaka. Osaka was the commercial capital of Japan and the place where innovations were. It also told many history about money in the East Asian context and about Money in China. Staff were very professional. Really enjoyed. At the end of the tour, there a block of pure silver and a block of pure gold. You can touch then by hand. TRY then!

(Translated by Google) A museum that displays the history of Japanese mint in a corner of the Mint site. Clearly, the Japan Mint thought it was in Tokyo, where the Bank of Japan is located, but this is the headquarters, and the bureaus are located in Saitama City and Hiroshima City. It was originally diverted because the thermal power plant facilities needed for mint became modern and unnecessary. Mint is a history of money, so there are various exhibits around money, so it is very interesting. It is basically a historical exhibition, but it may be good for children who have become interested in money to learn the history of money. We recommend that you use public transportation whenever possible as there are few coin parking around.
