A stunning hotel. Great place to try traditional Japanese food. Staff are very welcoming and helpful. We rented out their private onsen as we have tattoos (it is very difficult to find public onsens that allow people with tattoos). Very easy to book this, and they had availability on the day. Easy to get to from the bus station - less than a 10 minute walk uphill. The town is also lovely.

Arima Onsen is a less touristy, charming, laid-back town famous for its 2 types of hot springs. And this Ryokan that I'd booked, offers best value I'll ever encountered in my whole life. Staff were so service oriented and heart-warming. Their Kaiseki was so super delicious. I wanted badly to tips their staff who had served my meals and prep my futon (but tipping is rude in Japanese culture). 100% recommended for this Ryokan and I will return.

Amazing natural hot spring hotel. Exceptional customer service. We had booked a traditional Japanese to with half board (traditional Japanese dinner). The food was amazing. Only wish we had spent a second night. Booked a session in the private osen bath which was amazing. Gave me heaps of relief for a tired old body.

Service, lodging, food. Impeccable. This is an experience anyone should have at least once. I highly recommend.

We were here last summer for a quick escape to the nature and stayed there for 2 nights. We had the smallest room with a private onsen and we loved it!! It was high season so the price was high but worth it given the fact you get two huge meals (kaiseki style) + private onsen + stay. The staff was amazing and likewise the food. We were so stuffed but we continued eating knowing that these opportunities doesn't come often when you're not living in Japan. Our room was comfortable with a massage chair, high-quality amenities for your skin & hair and the private onsen was the best. Literally soaked 3x a day to get my skin & soul pampered. The location is not far from the town center but do order the shuttle bus(complementary) when arriving or departing. It's located uphill unless you want to have your leg-day with your suitcases. Very easy to explore on foot to most of the areas in the town. We'll be back in the winter!!
