A small but beautiful shrine, especially during sakura season. Has nice views of the city skyline and the mountains.

Beautiful shrine in the middle of Kobe. Worth the climb. Very crowded.

Great views of Kobe! This shrine is a branch of the main shrine in Kyoto. The Kitano Tenmangu Shrine is said to be good for students, as the god of study is enshrined here.

I came here on a cold winter Monday. Was able to get away from the tourists in downtown and to enjoy a tranquil moment. Had a good view of Kobe downtown too. The shrine here is famous among locals on prayers for good study results ~ Located north of the sannomiya station, I recommend here for those who have time and won't mind to climb the stairs. It certainly worth the energy to climb up !

On the way downhill, we entered 北野天満神社. We climbed stone staircases again to make wishes. The god here governs wisdom and study. I made a wish and took photos with a Pass sign in hand & Great Kobe city overlook behind me.

This shrine seems something of an oddity, located in Kitano area of Kobe which houses a number of residences built in classic European style. Located at the good height, this shrine premises do offer spectacular views of the Kobe city right down to sea port.

It is mostly the area of old-fashioned Western houses, partly Chinese style.

This is a nice place above Weather Cock House at Kitano Ijinkan(Kobe), quiet and peaceful. Don't miss when you reach this area.
