The facility is a little bit older and pretty far from the station but has reflected from their price, and i think the place has been well maintained. The onsen has its direct source, which in my mind, is more important than the age of the facility. The food we had was also really good in quality, overall a very good experience.

We are very disappointed to stay here. We are staying in this hotel tonight and we found a lot of insects and 1 cockroach in the room. We killed 5 already. The yukata are very smelly. Fortunately the food in the restaurant is good.

We walked ourselves from the station to this place. Slope was steep. It was very difficult. The gold kinsen was very nice. We had the traditional Japanese tatami setting in our room. Very nice. They even came in the room and made the bed for us. Facility was a bit run down but being one of the oldest Onsen here. It's understandable. The portion for their dinner was absolutely massive. I almost couldn't finish it. Another major downside is none of their staff speak good English. All of them used an interpreting device with us.

This hotel is exceptional in terms of service. Their location is a bit far from the station, but it does provide pick up service. When my friend and I are running late for dinner, they had no problem pushing it back to a later time and even arranged a second pick up service for us so that we can arrive for the dinner in time. Their food is also very fresh and delicious, and transitional Japanese room is very delicately presented. No doubt this is a hidden gem, highly recommended!

Traditional ryokan with a gold onsen, you see a lot more locals compared to the more 'tourist friendly' hotels around the area. The kaiseki is a must have, everything served is fresh and local and the plum wine is a 10/10 P.S. it's a 15 mins walk from the nearby railway station but the hotel provide free shuttle service (we emailed them in advance)

First time experience real onsen and I love it. The golden water is very nice. The staff at the reception is very friendly. The price is 800 Yen and big towel for 200 Yen. It wasn’t busy at all so I was there by myself most of the time. The whole onsen was only for me. I really like it.

This hotel is popular due to having spring water drawn directly from the source. It’s located up a hill a bit away from the town center. The facilities are not very fancy and are not too attractive either. However, for a day use hotel in Arima, the price is not too bad. The hotel is part of a large hotel chain, so if you see a Kanpo no Yado elsewhere, they often have very reliable day-use onsen.

Really enjoyed the enriched water in one of Japan's oldest onsen which is golden in colour because of all the minerals. The pipes get clogged up very quickly and needs to be changed frequently. My skin feels smoother after the bath 😃

Arima Onsen is a famous and very old one in Japan. Its brown color hot water, like you cannot see the bottom of bath tab, which became by the oxidization is named golden spring. This hotel is built a little away from the station and at a hill side. The room is enough space and clean. The foods are Japanese cuisine and served with many little dishes. People are coming to bathe the onsen and walking around town.

The golden onsen water was healing and a great experience and it was less crowded. Shower facilities are good with shower gels and all the toiletries including moisturisers provided.

Best value for money considering the spa is not crowded relative to the popular spa near the entrance of arimaonsen.

Great onsen, but a bit of a climb if you are walking from Arimaonsen station.

Walking in to take golden-water onsen. First time using self-service onsen ticket (menu in Japanese), with guidance.

I went there for the onsen. The hotel claims that the hot spring water is straight from the source. But after I soaked in there, my skin had chlorine smell. And when I got home, my skin felt super dry and itch. (I used to use jacuzzi all the time which is filled with chlorine, so I know how chlorine feels on my skin.) This hotel changed owner a while ago, I guess the new owner only wants to make profit and recycles the water with chlorine in it. I won’t go back again.
