Whenever
I
travel,
I
love
to
eat
the
local
cuisine,
or
visit
places
that
are
famous
in
that
particular
city.
Instead
of
eating
the
breakfast
in
the
hotel
we
stayed
in,
my
friends
and
I
decided
to
visit
Hotel
Sree
Vaishnaves.
This
is
one
of
the
most
popular
restaurants
in
Kannur
and
once
we
read
the
reviews,
we
were
tempted
to
try
out
the
place.
As
it
can
get
very
crowded
in
the
morning,
we
decided
to
go
right
when
it
opens.
The
weather
was
quite
cool
as
it
had
rained
in
the
night,
so
we
took
a
short
and
sweet
walk
to
our
destination.
The
restaurant
is
situated
on
the
side
road,
so
there
is
ample
parking
for
two
and
four
wheelers.
We
were
the
first
set
of
customers
that
day.
The
restaurant
is
spacious
and
bright
with
comfortable
seating.
As
soon
as
we
sat
down,
the
waiter
came
to
our
table
and
recited
the
items
available
for
breakfast.
When
I
heard
the
word,
"Pongal,"
I
knew
that
is
what
I
was
going
to
order
because
Pongal
-
especially
the
typical
South
Indian
style
from
Tamil
Nadu,
is
my
all
time
favorite.
Though
I'm
not
a
fan
of
ghee,
I
don't
mind
a
few
drops
here
and
there
in
the
Pongal.
The
condiments
of
Sambhar
and
Coconut
Chutney
complemented
the
Pongal
perfectly.
To
wash
this
down,
I
ordered
a
tumbler
of
hot
and
frothy
filter
coffee.
My
friend
ordered
a
plate
of
Masala
Dosa
which
was
served
with
Sambhar
and
Chutney.
The
Dosa
is
so
huge,
that
it
can
be
shared
with
another
person!
There
was
generous
amount
of
the
potato
filling
too.
Another
friend
ordered
a
plate
of
single
Vada.
It
was
crispy
on
the
outside
and
soft
on
the
inside.
Just
like
the
other
dishes,
the
Vada
was
also
served
with
Sambhar
and
Chutney.
Finally,
my
other
friend
ordered
a
Plain
Dosa
which
she
said
tasted
yummy.
The
Tamilian
style
Sambhar
is
something
different
from
the
kind
you
get
anywhere
else.
The
amalgamation
of
the
powders
is
what
enhances
the
flavor
and
makes
you
want
to
eat
more
spoonfuls.
The
food
was
delicious,
the
prices
were
quite
reasonable,
service
was
quick
and
the
hand
wash
area
was
clean
too.
Near
the
billing
counter,
there
were
some
packets
of
snacks
kept
for
sale
like
Banana
Chips,
Tapioca
Chips,
Mixture,
Murukku,
etc.
I
would
highly
recommend
Hotel
Sree
Vaishnaves
for
a
delicious
vegetarian
and
authentic
Tamilian
breakfast.
Don't
miss
it!
