Found this place when we were walking through the streets. It is a museum as well as a police station. Went inside and it was a surprise to see so much information gathered about the history of the police dept from early beginnings till now. There is a display of police uniforms and weapons from yesteryear. There are also great information on police investigation techniques and forensic methods. All in all this is such a cool place to visit when you're in Fort Kochi!

πŽπœππ¨π›πžπ« 𝟐𝟎𝟐𝟐 It's a police museum and also a police station. Its a small museum where old police weapons, uniforms and crime solving methods are shown here. Its neatly presented and quite well maintained. There is no entry fee. There is also no space for parking so if you are planning on visiting, it would be a good idea to park elsewhere and walk to here. Just be sure not to walk into the actual police station when you are walking around seeing the exhibits πŸ˜‚

Located in Jew Town in Mattancherry and inaugurated in 2010, the International Tourism Police Station and Police Museum is the first of its kind in India. This police station is dedicated to tourists and it offers various services and facilities to tourists in Kochi. Apart from assisting tourists, this place is also a museum exhibiting various weapons, arms, and police uniforms. These collections take one through the history of Kerala’s police force, from the era of the Travancore Kings to the present. The swords used by the police force during the Travancore era, police hats, uniforms, and different medals are among the artefacts displayed. Entry to the the museum is free and the museum is open from 9.30 am to 6.30 pm.

Entry is free. Good insight into history. Beware there are some phographs and exibits about injuries and deaths not good to look at. But our police history is captured well in a small area. There historical unforma and weapons. And other police related facts that she'd a new light our history. Seeing it evovle so much is mesmerising. And that also for no fee. Truly worth a visit

International Tourism Police Station and Police Museum It is commonly referred to as Police Museum. This Museum is situated at about 5-7 minutes walk from Mattancherry Boat jetty/ backside exit of Mattancherry(Dutch) palace/Mattancherry Bus stand. In Jews Town, there is a direction board stating International Tourism Police museum and its direction. The address is AB Selam Rd, Jews St, Jew Town, Kappalandimukku, Mattancherry – 682002, Kochi, Kerala. The museum is open from 9.30 a.m to 6.30 p.m. on all days. The small museum made to resemble a police station. Photography is allowed here. It was established in 2010. The entry to this museum is free. The museum has Police Uniforms, weapons etc used by Travancore Police/Kerala Police. The museum is maintained good and is a small museum. The Museum also has some mannequins showing how various gun shots etc look like in a body. There are some disturbing pictures as well in the museum. Also on display are a variety of hats , Canes, armory used by police personnel. Badges and ranks of police personnel starting from constable to DIGs are also on display. This is a museum dedicated to Police force, and illustrates how Kerala police has grown through the years. On display are pictures from the early years to the present ones. The "FINGERPRINTS" section is educative and informative. One can also see the police band display with a constable of the pipe-band in ceremonial dress, a cop carrying a bugle, Police dog squad images are also on display. Modern day displays include a policeman in riot dress, a commando in dangri, a photo of a commando carrying an automatic weapon, an anti-sabotage team with equipment and a policeman wearing bomb-disposal suit. It is an ideal place to visit for family and kids and especially if you are interested in police history. The entrance is free. The museum is located in same lane of Synagogue and Antique museum. Maximum it may take 15-20 minutes to see this museum even if one reads all things which are kept near exhibits. There is also a kind of help desk available for the tourists to get their doubts clarified, but when I visited there was no one in charge there. Definitely a museum worth visiting while one is at Mattancherry. There is no parking place so it is better to walk to this museum. The compound of the museum is well maintained as a manicured garden and has on display a three tires stone lamp, Cannons etc. Photos by Viswas Menon Β© Viswas Menon Write up compiled by Viswas Menon

It's a good place to visit and get knowledge about history of kerala police and about their costumes, weapons, vehicles, handcuffs and their discipline etc. Averagely maintained the place. They allow us to take pictures inside, and it is opposite to the antique musium, Mattancherry Kerala.
