A good one for Museum lovers. Great collection with trivia. The ticket price was minimal and the staff was cooperative. It was a little hot and no source of water. So carry your water bottle. If you are coming try to come early so you can explore the nearby zoo and another museum too.

This is a museum which is often overlooked by people visiting the trio museum, opposite opposite opposite to it, one can take about 30 minutes to visit this place with a very nominal ticket cost. It gives you insights into the Kerala lifestyle and culture. once finished, you can step outside and walk towards the left to the tourist information centre where you can get pamphlets and information brochures along with certain information on travel locations within Kerala.

A very well maintained Museum at the heart of the city. This place includes the historical sculptures, old and preserved utensils, musical instruments and a lot more. There is ample ventilation inside the museum, and the architecture of the museum speaks for itself. The curator is very friendly and offers help without hesitation. He provided me with maps, brochures and the tourist book.

The Keralam Museum, located opposite the Napier Museum, holds artifacts from the Mesolithic and Neolithic periods onward. It displays stone axes, statues of deities from early centuries, recreated old Kerala houses, etc. The entry fee for adults is only ₹20. Although it has a limited number of artifacts, anyone interested in history can still enjoy visiting it.

The museum is interesting but quiet small and full of replicas only. A short story through ancient to modern times of Kerala. Unfortunately for foreigners is 200 rupees which makes the visit very expensive and not worth the visit.

Kerala’s history is interspersed with the many myths and legends. Keralam, a museum of history and heritage, situated in Thiruvananthapuram city, showcases the cultural history of Kerala and is a joint venture of Kerala Tourism and the State Department of Archaeology. Touch-screen counters and multimedia systems are arranged to explain the artifacts arranged in different galleries.

Love the ambience of this place. It have somany replicas of cave paintings, mural arts,... It shows the history of Kerala from Stone age to modern era. The touch enabled interactive machines were good but not everyone was working. It is not crowded. Infact when I went there on a thursday, I was the only visitor. It is worth a visit at just rs.20(for Indians) per person.

Foreigners have to pay Rp200/pp...I don’t understand why foreigners have to pay 10 times more? The museum has been updated/renovated and is quite impressive, most have English translations...Interesting presentation of Kerala history.

Keralam – Museum of History and Heritage, located at Thiruvananthapuram, Kerala, India is a museum that aims to document the history and heritage of Kerala that spans over 3000 years as per available prehistorical and historical evidence . It is a joint venture of Kerala Tourism and the Kerala State Department of Archaeology. The museum is placed within the Park View mansion, near the famous Napier Museum and Thiruvananthapuram Zoo. In order to enable effective content delivery and user interaction, the museum employs modern techniques such as touchscreen terminals to illustrate the exhibits and multimedia systems to render documentary videos. The museum offers several attractions of historic importance, some of the major exhibits include: Iron Age grave goods Ancient Roman Coinage such as the Roman Dinari illustrating the history of ancient maritime trade between Roman Empire and the Chera empire along the Malabar coast (modern day Kerala) two millennia ago Palm-leaf manuscript collection in Malayalam and Sanskrit languages Murals from Pundareekapuram Temple, Kottayam (circa 17th century AD) Neolithic stone tools (celts) Brahma Sculpture (circa 14th century AD) Yoga Narasimha Murthy (circa 14th century AD) Nataraja Sculpture (circa 16th century AD)

Must visit place especially for students. Has a number of artefacts excavated from different parts of the state some original and many are very good replicas. The museum is located opposite to zoo and many a time people ignore this site and opt for zoo and Napier museum instead. The museum itself is located in a building which used to be the residence of the C have Chief Secretary of travancore. I think everyone should find time to visit such sites in order to have a correct understanding of our history . This will also help in removing so many misconceptions that we have of our past.
