We never heard of this place. Stopped in front of this art gallery unexpectedly and we are glad that we did. It’s a must visit place for people who love sculptures and cartoons. Especially for fans of Cartoonist Shankar’s work. Only INR10 for entry. Not crowded at all. Very well maintained.

A tribute to cartoonist Shankar. A fantastic asset to the Kayamkulam town. Shri Shankar was a political cartoonist for several decades and the museum gives an opportunity to the public to have an insight to the life of Shri. Shankar through the numerous cartoons, drawing material and tools he used etc exhibited here. It was a good experience to see the overall museum and the staff working here is friendly too. Parking is available just outside the building.

The place is a must visit for those who love arts and sculptures. Many pieces of wonderful exhibits are there. An exclusive gallery for the winners of painting competition from around the world is awesome. There needs to be more facilities for sitting as there are no chairs available outside. It appears a lack of advertising that is not attracting people to this place. There is parking available for 4-5 cars inside. The bigger vehicles can be parked outside.

Very interesting place to visit. This is a tribute memorial museum to a political cartoonist Shankar. Many exhibits of his artworks. Take some time to read and enjoy the works. There are also some carvings and physical artworks laid around the courtyard and outside of the museum. Parking for car available just outside the building. One of the few attractions in Kayamkulam.

A wonderful place not to be missed. It's so close to the national highway that it's hard to miss. Sankar was India's most acclaimed cartoonist and guru to likes of RK LAXMAN and balasaheb thhakre. The museum lists all his work and articles about him to inspire the younger generations. Sankar was the doyen of painting competition for children in India. His belief that art in childhood paves the way to making sincere adults. He dedicated his life for children's painting activities. Paintings by children world over are displayed in the memorial. And are a great tribute to Sankar's vision. The memorial is designed very beautifully. It also houses an art gallery and painting exhibitions are conducted on Avery regular basis. Entry fee is just Rs 20 and there are no restrictions on photography. Ample space for parking is available.

Generally the Galery was pretty enjoyable. The rooms are designed very nicely and the pieces certainly had an effect on me. The shop is ill-equipped, though. They did not have any books or other products in English, which I found to be a weird choice.
