The food is the best in chalakudy. The pork fry here is the best that i have ever had. The rate is very low like between 80-90 rs for a curry. The rice is super and porotto is very soft. All these have great demand. So call and book before going if you arr going to be late. They usually start at 10-11 in the morning and the food gets over by around 2-3. There will be a huge crowd inside and outside waiting but the wait is totally worth. There will be no delay in serving the food. So anyone going to chalakudy should visit this place.

Anyone traveling on the Thrissur ernakulam Highway and if your travel falls sometime in the window of 10.00am to 3.00pm,I would hugely recommend you to Take a detour and have food from this place. For me I reached close to 4.30Pm by which time most of the items on the menu where finished, and had to do with whatever was available. But boy whatever he served was delicious and and super tasty. We had Pork fry, Beef fry, fish curry and rice. Each and every item was made to perfection. Even the veg side dishes and chamanthi was really good. Now one of the best things other than the food is their hospitality. They genuinely want you to enjoy their food and go away with a smile on your face. As it was almost closing time, i think he felt the beef served to has become dry as it was probably on the heat for a long time but still I found it to be one of the best beef fry I have had...but to my surprise he brought a little portion of freshly heated and prepared beef...and that was even more tastier than the original fry...and he brought such small portions two three time...which came to almost a full plate...and he charged only for one plate... Going back soon at proper lunch time and a super empty stomach

What to say?! It s nothing less than pure magic. There are no weird-named, overpriced dishes...Simply some rice and normal native curries...But the taste and satisfaction it is beyond words...And their consistency is also incredible...THE PERFECT EXPERIENCE...LOVVVEDDD IT....❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️

Got a chance to have lunch here while heading to Athirapally. What a wonderful way to start the year! The food here is absolutely delicious and the price is really affordable too. Although you might have to wait for about 20mins to get a spot, I say it is absolutely worth the wait!

It is a very famous hotel and one of the best restaurants in Chalakudy. Now the shop has expanded and has more seats. Family dining is also available.. Many special curries are available with meals. There are many curries available such as chicken, duck, rabbit, beef, pork and fish. Everything is super taste. This is a must try spot...♥️🔥👌

Clean place. Hygienic and tasty food. A must visit eatery on the way to Athirapilly water falls. We had rice meal, pork roast, prawns fry and fish pal pizhinjathu. Fish palu pizhinjathu is my favorite. No where l else you will find this tastey fish curry. This is perfect "naadan bhakshanam" NOT "shaapu curry"

Vasuvettante Kada in  Elanjipra Rd Potta is one of the spontaneous food spots in Thrissur district. I really liked the dishes from here. This place is famous for non-veg dishes but a vegan can try the meals which alone are delectable. For non-vegetarians, every dish is flavoursome. Recently a group of 3 people went there for Lunch. We ordered, 1. Meals (Rating: 4.5 star) 2. Koonthal  (Rating: 3.5 star) 3. Mutton roast  (Rating: 5 star) 4. Tharavu curry (roast)  (Rating: 5 star) The meals were outstanding, having side dishes thoran, achar, chemeen chammanthi, sarlas, Manga curry and sambar. (4.5 Star) I thought koonthal would be like a fry but it was roast but it was tasty (3.5 star). We really like the mutton roast and it is really worth it (5 star). Tharavu curry (Nadan tharavu) was awesome it is a must try (5star) Limited parking space is available. We need to park near the side of the road. This place is always very busy so plan your food journey according with that. Overall I rate this place as a 4 star spot..

My husband took me to this place remembering the old taste. The only thing still same is the service. Even when it is super crowded, they serve food with a smile on their face. Coming to the food, I feel it does not live upto the hype. We ordered meals alongwith fish curry, prawns, mutton and beef. Prawns was not at all good. The only thing worth mentioning was the mutton.

Reached here with friends at 1:00 pm, we found that many dishes, including the fish curry, were unavailable. Opting for prawns fry, the overcooked texture diminished its appeal. Limited choices of only fish egg fry and few fish fry further constrained our options. While the available dishes were satisfactory, the scarcity left a noticeable gap in the overall dining experience.

Restaurant timings are 12 pm to 4 pm i think. We reached there at 1 pm. There was rush. There were around 150 people in the restaurant. But, vasuettan attends each table and have personal interaction with each customer - a skill that should be appreciated. Food is tasty, service is fast. Its not a costy place.

Superb food ! We reached there at 1.30 pm. It was over crowded but still we managed to get seats. Ordered meals and side dishes. Meals and side dishes were equally good. Even if it was crowded they deliver the food with a smile and no hesitation to resupply the curries on time.

There is nothing more to be said about this place! It is popular because of three main reasons- tasty food, tasty food & tasty food! There is no cosy seating or ambience, there is no interior decor or feel, there is no fancy Menu Cards, no Cutleries, the waiters or rather in local lingo "Suppliers" don't have any uniform but they are in lungi and yet there is no space to put your foot in during Lunch hours specially on Weekends! Vegetarians stay away however, it's a must visit to Non Vegetarians if you are on the way to Athirapilly or even you are near Chalakudy during lunch hours take a turn to this place. It was like a Cinema Hall crowd when we went there! Absolutely loved the food and we were Five and it cost us only 1200 INR. Do try out Chicken Fry, Duck and Beef fry.

The food is so good, so if u go there late you might not get anything. The late you become the less will be the options. Curries are a kinda spicy. The place will be crowded always even if there isn't a dedicated parking space. You will have to park the vehicles by the roadside if u wanna dine in. Rates are affordable and reasonable. The ambiance might not be that good, but the taste compensates it.

Amazing test . Perfect homemade test of authentic Kerala dishes. May not be those very great ambience type restaurants but they into this for 50years. Fish curry was over by 2.30 we had chicken fry , beef fry and rice . Dried prawn chutney powder also tasted amazing. If you want a തനി നാടൻ style meals and spicy and tasty special items just visit here. Yes the price compared to other normal lunch places here is a bit expensive but it's worth it. The beef fry is a must try, it's mixed with the coconut bits and it's really tasty and all are provided in the banana leaf which imparts the extra taste. Another notable feature is the mango curry.. I think not in any other restaurant in chalakudy provides mango curry for lunch. They also provide that fresh moru which refreshes you after this heavy fooding. This is really tasty and you can eat anything by keeping the high standards in mind.

The non veg items here is a must try, there is a big area for car parking too which is nice, if u go about 11am to 12 am there will not be much queue, but one day i went at 2:30 there was a lot of Queue which shows how good their food are. The quality is also great. I prefer to go by 12 am so u can try every items otherwise it will get over fast

If you love traditional Kerala food this is your spot. They have such huge varieties on offer you just cant miss them. Make sure you try their prawns, fish curry, beef fry, and sardine fry. My mouth is watering even while typing 😋 There is obviously much rush in this restaurant because there is good food on offer. Inspite of having good seating capacity you have to end up waiting for 15 mins (minimum) to grab a seat. Then the wait to get your banana leaf on which the meal is served. Though you might feel a little impatient.. the meal makes it all worthwhile. The staff are great considering that they serve so many craving mouths at one go. Wash area is neat and they have a parking space a little away from the restaurant. The restaurant is located enroute athirapilly and is the best place to visit after you take your dip at the falls. Must try. Do not.miss it

I happened to visit this restaurant yesterday with my family. Food what we had was good, but the service was not upto the mark. Especially, the charge of meals was little bit inflated when compared to other restaurants who served similar cuisine with a better service. They don't provide space for parking, so need to park vehicle near beside the pavement or infront of the shops nearby. I think they need to improve the service to please all kinds of customers.
