Lovely Temple. Try to visit this temple at least once in a year. Always book the slot in online and then go to temple (you need to carry the print out) so that you will avoid the crowd. Try to visit the temple in morning at least before 9 am. It will take around 2 hours totally

Great and good temple. They(temple management& securities) can easily maintain the que but not doing properly, making and keeping the crowd. Baby food feeding ceremony is easy one and they only take photos and send to us.

One of the most sacred pilgrim hubs in Kerala. This is a temple with little architecture or fanciful stuff to look at but the spiritual force felt here is unusual. The temple is open only to the believers of Hindu faith, and there might be long queues at the entrance but completely worth as you enter the temple complex. The visit here is a satisfying spiritual experience. There is a strict dress code we had to adhere to!

Guruvayoor is known as dhakshina Vaikundam of earth. The age of the temple not known and very ancient prathista by guru and vayu. Hence the name Guruvayoor. Guruvayoor Ekadashi, anayottam, and ulsavam are famous all over the world. Temple provides daily noon food to thousands of devotees. Sreekrishna blessing is always with the devoted people who worshipped him. Today I worshipped Guruvayoorappan in connection with the Thulabharam of my grandson Adharv. We will be full of peace in mind on dharsana of Guruvayoorappan. Om Namo Narayanaya:

A must visit temple for Hindus. A very rich heritage, old traditions and filled with devotional rituals. There is something about the temple that calms the mind and brings peace as soon as you enter. Do not miss. Respect the local culture and wear traditional clothing. Mobiles not allowed inside.

Once you are inside the temple, you can feel something which can't be described by words. What you feel inside is what you are, and what god is. A very nice place for peace lovers, said that when there is no much crowd. Everything here is a new experience when you visit this place each time.

Guruvayur Temple, located in the quaint town of Guruvayur in Kerala, India, is a place of profound spiritual significance that left an indelible mark on my heart. My visit to this temple was an enchanting experience that exceeded all expectations. The temple's mesmerizing architecture, adorned with intricate carvings and vibrant colors, exudes a sense of grandeur and spirituality. The atmosphere inside is filled with a positive vibe of devotion and reverence. The main highlight of the temple is its presiding deity, Lord Krishna, affectionately known as Guruvayurappan. The idol is believed to have a divine presence that radiates a unique energy, captivating the hearts of devotees. Witnessing the daily rituals and offerings to the deity was a humbling experience that deepened my spiritual connection. The temple complex also houses several smaller shrines dedicated to various gods and goddesses, each with its own distinct charm. The peaceful ambiance within these shrines invites visitors to reflect and find solace in their own personal moments of prayer. The administration and management of Guruvayur Temple deserve special mention. Despite being one of the most revered pilgrimage sites in South India, the temple staff ensured that the crowd was well-managed, and the sanctity of the place was preserved. The efficient queue system and helpful volunteers guided visitors through the temple premises smoothly.

The temple is very famous Krishna temple and people from all over the country come to see this place. When you come to visit this place even on weekdays at odd times, be prepared to have a waiting time of minimum 2 hours. Thankfully there are seating arrangements for a while and so you don't realize the time if you have your family or friends along. They have very giant fans and there are 2 of them which covers most of the area and that's why you don't really sweat even in the crowd.

The atmosphere is spiritually good. Due to the corona disease, devotees were not allowed to come here as in all other places. But now it seems that there is no such ban for large crowds. The children were all very tired because of the hustle and bustle where the children were being treated. There were a lot of weddings that day. We do not have to pay at the Guruvayur Devasom Comfort Station and the clock room here for the devotees to enjoy more. No longer is there room for convenience and early morning snuggling. The lodge and the rooms are all adjacent to the temple. Similarly, Guruvayur ksrtc and railway station are only 100 meters west of the walk. There are many shops around this temple. There are already halls for weddings, concerts and debuts. There is also a submerged Thozhan Ambalakulam. There is food every day.

I am no one to give rating to this place. No amount of stars would suffice.Heavenly abode of Lord Krishna here on earth.Pure Bliss. Have been here before also. Truly a wonderful experience. A must visit pilgrimage site for all the Hindus. This time had to wait for around 3-3.5 hrs to get the Darshan. The arrangements for queue has been improved. There is provision for sitting in the queue outside the temple. Getting inside the sanctum Santorum is a tedious task because of the rush, but it's worth it. Usually when there is too much rush, you might just get a glimpse of the lord. This arrangements are decent inside the temple. All the places are super clean. One issue I have with Dewasom board is about the plastic container given with Palpayasam offering. I am not sure if it is good grade plastic that they are giving after charging 15Rs. Since hot payasam is poured over to that plastic bottle, I was a bit worried about the same. Need to find out about the plastic grade. No mobile phones are allowed inside. Men should wear Dhoti. No shirts, No pants allowed. Overall a great experience. This is a place where you want to go again and again. Around the temple there are lots of shops from where you wanto buy artefacts. There are separate Baby feeding rooms both inside and outside the main temple. Do visit for a wonderful experience.

The Guruvayur Temple is a renowned Hindu temple in Kerala, India. It holds immense religious significance and is dedicated to Lord Krishna. The temple's architecture is stunning, with intricate details and a vibrant atmosphere. Devotees come from all over to seek blessings and witness the daily rituals. However, be prepared for crowds, as it's a popular pilgrimage site. The temple's sanctity and cultural importance make it a must-visit for those interested in Indian spirituality and architecture.

This is one of the famous temples in Kerala, dedicated to Vishnu in the form of Krishna. The temple is managed by the Guruvayoor Dewaswom Board. The temple rituals start at 3 am with Nirmalyam, and the queue for this begins at midnight. Only Hindus are allowed to enter the temple, and they must follow a long queue. You can pre-book Darshan and offerings from the Dewaswom website itself. I recommend visiting early in the morning when the rush is comparatively low and the temperature is cool. There are many hotels and lodges nearby for stay and refreshment. Electronic gadgets are not allowed inside the temple premises, including smartwatches. You can also avail locker room facilities to store your belongings. Always adhere to the temple decorum and keep the premises neat and clean

Guruvayur temple is one of India’s most ancient temples. The earliest temple records date back to the 17th century but other literary texts and legends indicate that the temple may be around 5000 years old. Guruvayur has a very strict dress code for entering the temple. Men can only wear mundu (tied around the waist) or shorts in case of boys. They are prohibited from wearing anything on the upper body other than a small piece of cloth called veshti. Women were only allowed to wear saris until recently when the rules were slightly relaxed and salwar kameez was also made acceptable. There are around 56 elephants that belong to the temple. They live in the Punnathur kotta elephant yard which is the home to the largest population of male captive Asian elephants.

The presiding deity of the Guruvayur Temple is Guruvayoorappan (Vishnu, worshipped in the form of his avatar Krishna). The central icon is a four-armed standing Vishnu carrying the conch Panchajanya, the discus Sudarshana Chakra, the mace Kaumodaki, and a lotus with a Holy basil garland. This image represents the majestic form of Vishnu as revealed to Krishna's parents Vasudeva and Devaki around the time of Krishna's birth. Worship proceeds according to routines laid down by Adi Shankara and later written formally in the Tantric way, the inter-religious spiritual movement that arose in medieval India, by Chennas Narayanan Nambudiri (born in 1427). The Chennas Nambudiris are the hereditary tantris (high priest) of the Guruvayur Temple. The temple is managed by a special Devaswom (Guruvayur Devaswom) under the control of the Government of Kerala. The main festivals of this temple are the 10-day festival in the Malayalam month of Kumbham starting with flag hoisting on Pooyam star, Sri Krishna Janmashtami (Birthday of Lord Krishna) in the month of Chingam, Ekadasi (11th day) in the shukla paksha (bright fortnight) in the month of Vrischikam, popularly called as Guruvayur Ekadasi and Vishu on the first day of the month of Medam, once a harvest festival. The temple's sub-deities are Ganapathi, Ayyappan and Bhagavathi, and there are two sub-temples each, one for Ganapathi and the other for Nagadevata nearby the temple. One of its replica temples is Uttara Guruvayurappan Temple located at Mayur Vihar-1 in Delhi. The temple is dedicated to Shri Krishna, who is worshipped as Guruvayurappan, the deity of the famous Shri Krishna Temple in Guruvayur Town in the state of Kerala. The temple was founded on 17 may 1983. This temple is most revered by the Malayalis and Tamilians in Delhi.

It's a famous temple but not so organized. I visited with my family but here there are special ticket counters there which cost you 1000rs per person and it is not worth it. Better just take one local guide which costs you 300rs for the same special darsan. Temple administrator not well managed to devote. I would recommend not to dare to take below 10yrs kids. Very rushed at the main gate. Carefully visit this place.

    * Guruvayur Temple is a Hindu temple dedicated to Guruvayurappan, Sri Krishna, located in the town of Guruvayur in Kerala, India. It is one of the most important places of worship for Hindus in Kerala and Tamil Nadu and is often referred to as Bhuloka Vaikunta (Vaikuntha in the earthly realm). * According to legend, Janamejaya conducted a sacrifice to destroy all the snakes of the world including Takshaka, who was the cause of his father Parikshit's death. Hundreds of thousands of snakes fell into the sacrificial fire and were killed, but the sacrifice was stopped by a Brahmin called Astika, before Takshaka was killed. Since Janamejaya was responsible for the death of millions of snakes, he was afflicted with leprosy. He lost all hope of a cure. One day Sage Atreya (son of Atri) came before Janamejaya and told him to take refuge under the feet of Krishna at Guruvayur. Atreya told him that in the temple at Guruvayur the effulgence of Shri Hari is at its best and Vishnu showers his blessings on all devotees. He immediately rushed there and spent the next ten months worshipping the god of Guruvayur. At the end of ten months, he returned home healthy and took the astrologer to task for making a false prediction. The astrologer told him that he would find the mark of a snakebite on his left leg. He had escaped death only because he was at that time in a temple where Anantha (the emperor of serpents) was present and Anantha was the brother to the God at Guruvayur where he had finished worshipping. The king then decided to build a full-fledged temple at Guruvayur. In time, this temple came to be downgraded and reduced to poverty during the days when Kerala was ruled by the Perumals. The Perumal rulers were mostly Shaivites and did not extend their patronage to Vaishnavite shrines. The Shiva temple at Mammiyur received their patronage and with the shift of royal patronage, the worshippers also moved to the Shiva temple. The Guruvayur temple was thus reduced to utmost poverty. However, one day, a holy man went to the Mammiyur temple for food and hospitality for the night. Though the temple was affluent, the temple authorities pretended they had nothing and scornfully directed him to the neighbouring Guruvayur temple. When the holy man entered the precincts of that temple, he was courteously received by a Brahmin boy and sumptuously fed. The holy man was very much pleased and he pronounced a blessing. According to the legend, Mammiyur Siva temple began to decline, and the fortunes of Guruvayur Vishnu temple progressed from strength to strength. * The temple tank (pond) on the northern side of the temple is called Rudratheertham. According to legend, for thousands of years, Lord Shiva used to bath on the southern bank of this pond. Since Shiva is also known by the name 'Rudra', the pond came to be known as Rudratheertham * Dress code : Men are to wear mundu around their waist, without any dress covering their chest. Girls and women are not allowed to wear any trouser like dresses or short skirts. Women are allowed to wear sari and girls are to wear long skirt and blouses

This temple is remarkable and any hindu believers should visit this place if they planning to visit kerala. This is Lord Vishnu (Krishna) avatar temple. And here you can see Lord Krishna idol inside temple. We got lovely darshan of Lord Vishnu (Lord Krishna). As per claim everyone is saying this temple is of 3000 year old. But by seeing the temple buildup, material used and articraft its seems like it is of copper age. This temple complete top is made up of copper. Which still not got black after so many year. So, they are surely high quality pure copper alloy. Temple is very beautiful and there are too many elephants are there. We saw 4-5 elephants here and they are white elephants. We all are blessed to visit this place. Jai Shri Krishna

Very famous Temple for Lord Krishna in Kerala. The deity is called gurvayurappan. Stays: Many hotels are there nearby around the temple. Stay close to the temple so that u can visit temple for darshan anytime. We stayed at Vishnu inn at east nada. Darshan: Famous for long queues.now they have 1000 per person special entry . Tickets are available inside the campus and entry is given near the police outpost. This cuts the queue by more than half. If u are in a hurry or travelling with children( like me) I recommend u take this . Traditional attire is a must. Men aren't allowed with shirt/vest. We went for early morning darshan at 2am. Took just 30-40 mins for entry. We completed by 4am. Prasad: U get Prasad with special entry tickets after darshan.
