Fabulous place. Full of charm and beauty. Day and night, the desire to live there follows you.All these colors !!! It's sumptuous ... Each piece has its color. Color of earth, fire, water, sun and peace. All this under an architecture that perfectly represents India.The staff is of a kindness that gives you a smile. If inadvertently, the temperature is too hot for you, don't worry, this house has a beautiful pool with the edge of the seats to nap under a pergola that transports you in your dreams.To be honest, this place is a paradise.

A wonderful place to relax and enjoy. The property is located in a small island in the banks of Periyar with an great view of the river. Spending time in pool watching the sunset was an great experience. The entire place is filled with amazing antique decors, together modern furnitures provides a blend of modern comfort with the touch of history. The staffs ensures that our stay was really memorable.

When we, a group of 15 friends meeting after 15years, were looking for a place to hold a reunion, Madilina house seemed perfect from the pictures available online. And it lived up to our expectations, the property is beautifully maintained with a well balanced array of antique decor and modern conveniences. The grounds were also well maintained with so many spots to just sit around talking, enjoying the river breeze. The caretaker Karma and the manager Mr. Abhilash and wife cooked an excellent dinner for us. Basic amenities including kitchen ingredients and juices were stocked in the kitchen with a full cooking range as well. The large dining room and the living room that could seat us all served our purpose perfectly. The only con was the slightly temperamental air-conditioning. The place is perfect if you want a silent, calm stay or if you want to make a lot of noise with friends without disturbing the neighbours. It is extremely photogenic with instagram worthy interiors and outdoors as well.A great big thank you to the staff and Sinna who helped book the place, for making our reunion picture perfect.

Good airbnb hosts, nice space for a big gathering. The house has 5 rooms n well decorated. Pool os a bit deep and the there is no fence to the river side. If if there are kids.. The parents need to be a bit careful. I recommend this place very much.

Beautiful, well-maintained property by the river. Ample outdoor and indoor spaces with large Pool. Interiors and Decors are handpicked to give us a glimpse of history with all modern amenities. Staffs and caretakers are courteous and Helpfull. Really enjoyed the stay.

We stayed here for 6 nights with our friends. Madilina House was perfect for us, just what we needed after a mad tour of India! We felt special from the moment we arrived, and were so well looked after throughout our stay. Nothing was too much trouble for Abi, Mini and Karma, they could not have done more for us. Breakfast was laid out outside every morning, with various items cooked fresh daily. We were driven to the village to go shopping, and to Chilli Out restaurant one evening (delicious!). We chose to have Mini cook for us all the other evenings and the food was wonderful and plentiful as well as very reasonably priced. Everything was set up and cleared away, our rooms were always beautifully cleaned, we wanted for absolutely nothing. It is probably the best place I have ever stayed, and we will be back!

Madilina House is a rare, rare find. Exquisite in every way. We've been enjoying homestays across the world but nothing trumps our experience at The Madilina House. The location is majestic...sprawling lawns facing the beautiful Periyar river front. Each room is carefully curated, with a story of it's own. The food...ah, the FOOD! Don't let them fool you that's just simple homestyle cooking. It's absolutely divine, 5-star quality, home cooked food, served in the finest dinnerware. But it's Abhilash and his team of caring and warm hosts that really make this place a cut above the rest. His smiling wife, who dishes out the most lip-smacking delicacies and Karma, the super efficient superman, who hosts you with ease. The owners of the place have a wonderful story and connection to Kochi so do take a moment to hear that! Please visit and preserve the beauty of this place. It's worth every penny. Beautiful beautiful sould soothing location and home. The service fell short when it comes to food. The cook comes only if booked one day ahead, and nearest restaurant is actually far. But other than this minor inconvenience, the overall experience was very memorable.

With its immaculate yet traditional decor Madilina House is a must see as much for the house as for its gorgeous views. Great location - you could sit for hours watching the Periyar river flow serenely past its green grounds...

Since we reached there on the day of Vishu we were welcomed with a wonderful sadhya for lunch. The property is managed by Mr Abilash and his wife Mini. I must make a special mention that Mr Abilash is a very humble person and very accommodative to all our requirements even at the last minute. His wife cooked us some absolutely delicious food but be sure to keep them posted in advance for your food requirements. A special mention to the staff Karma and Nagaraj who were always serving us with a smile 😊 On the property, it is a 5 bhk villa facing the periyar river and very tastefully done up rooms. Each room is done up with a theme and one can find many antiques all over the property. The villa and the location is extremely good and we are happy with our stay, friendly host. Their complementary breakfast is so tasty and good.But the lunch was not as we expected.

I was awestruck seeing the beauty of this place. This place is a piece of heaven. A small reunion of friends after so long was possible thanks to Madilina House. We had a wonderful time. Kayaking was super fun. We would love to extend our gratitude to Mr. Abhilash and Mr. Karma for their service and all help throughout the stay.

Located facing the Periyar river, everything about Madilina House is warm. The place, the view, the people. The property managers Mr.Abhilash and Mrs.Mini, the caretakers Mr.Karma and Mr.Aniljith are among the nicest people you'll cross paths with. They are integral to the experience of the house and the stay. Every aspect is done up with so much thought and each part of the house has a unique piece of history to it. The best part about the place is that it's pet friendly. Our dogs had an absolute ball there (pun-intended). Must visit even otherwise, but especially if you're a city-dwelling pet owner.

This is such a fantastic property bang on Periyar river. The host Abhilash is super efficient, his wife Minni’s food is to die for! The helper Karma is the best so helpful and hardworking. Enjoyed the swimming pool at this very well kep property. But the French owner need to fix the steep steps to descend to the open air washroom attached to the rooms. We were all elderly citizens. And found that very difficult. Also a few rooms have very high beds. If these two drawbacks are fixed, it is heaven on earth! Thank you Abhilash, Minni and karma!🙏
