Very nice and beautiful property with good ambience and vibe. All around there is lush green garden and a small golf course is also there. Swimming pool is also quite good but changing room is not Available at pool side. Staff is also quite cooperative and helpful Deluxe rooms are quite spacious and rooms with Marina view are very good. Food is also good though variety is limited. One drawback is that bathroom fittings are quite old and needs urgent replacement.

We arrived in the evening and the location was nice with a beautiful garden and pool. The courtyard had a nice breeze which was relaxing. We took a swim in the pool and felt it was not clean - stray leaves and dead ants etc in water. But it still felt nice and we had a relaxing swim. We got a lake view room and they seemed great while checking in but at night (around 10:15pm) we were woken up by bites all over our body from bedbugs. We called the reception regarding it and after 30 minutes and repeated reminders, they sent in a service man with a mosquito refill. We had to go to the reception to complain with pictures and were given another room far from our initial room. On inspecting the new room the pillows seemed dirty and I found a bed bug there after about 15 mins. Had an early morning flight so planned to sleep early but it seems will have to catch flight without sleep Note: Sharing only pictures of dirt and bedbugs as the other reviews have pictures of the beauty of the place

This place has the worst staff and service I’ve ever experienced. No one is friendly. The front desk staff especially is extremely unfriendly. The rooms are extremely poorly maintained and smells bad and has black mold all over the place. The location is great and the outside area is very well maintained. The view and location is really good and peaceful. The pearl spot restaurant is really good with fresh food. The restaurant service is also perfect.

A large expanse of land, nature in its nature in a typical humid sea-side Kerala geography, surrounded by Vembanad lake on all the visible sides. Definitely not like an artificial and air-conditioned luxurious expanse of a palatial hotel. Old Dutch palace converted to a heritage hotel with a lot of outdoor space to walk around. In addition to palatial suites, different clusters of residential categories are available at different parts of the property. Reaching the property is easy. Well staffed, including a lifeguard watching over the swimming pool, but you might occasionally feel "govt employee" attitude from an old staff who are cordial otherwise when interacted. Plenty of parking space but "parking at owners risk" board with no one to guide you where to park might be irritating. You will have to clean the leaves and bird droppings from the vehicles when you checkout, the Nature at work! Large rooms, beautifully old, luxurious, sound proof and clean. Garden, lake, boats and large ships always in view from most of the areas. Swimming pool, lawn and children's play area are enjoyable to children. Food is tasty but limited in choice. Limited even if you are not a foodie. Getting into any nearest restaurant is a bit tedious.

Beautiful historical property on an island with gorgeous sea view.... Entire place was simply amazing and has breathtaking views ....Room, Swimming pool, gardens was superb and breakfast was delicious.... professional Service and friendly staff. We stayed from 2-3rd April 2023....in a Lake view room. Weather was pleasant and whole vibe of the place was positive and relaxing.... I can highly recommend the place to anyone....

The resort is situated at a great spot which is a tourist attraction but the resort is lacking badly in terms of cleanliness and hygiene. The building is full of spider webs even in reception lobby and the lake view floor stinks like urinary smell, The tried to manage with room fresher in the floors, If cleanliness is corrected this will be best hotel for family and couples. Being said that the staff are courteous and very helpful. Food was average.

Recently i visited bolgatty palace and island resort for the after marriage party of my cousin sister and we had a blast. The good food, music ,the lake side view, the calm breezy wind we enjoyed every bit of the place. We also took some nice photos and all. Everything was good.

Historical beautiful property. Staff was very helpful, polite, took care of the issues within no time. Food was delicious and authentic. If you like to taste some authentic Kerala food this is the place. They also have some North Indian and continental as well. Restaurant staff went above and beyond to meet our requests especially Praveen. Bathrooms needs update. Otherwise our stay was very comfortable.

One of the best places to stay in Kochi. Its a beautiful place for family and friends to hang out for a day or two. Nice view from some of the rooms. Swimming pool is small and meant for kids mainly. Nice service with plenty of greenery. You can breathe lungful of fresh air amidst the nature. Highly recommend this place. Although slightly pricey, its worth the price. Food is decent and not extremely fancy. Good but narrow roads. Marine drive (famous for its shopping centers and street vendors) is 10 minutes drive from the resort, where you can relax and ride on a cool ferry / boat.

If only this place was run by a big hotel chain and not Kerala Tourism, this could've been a fantastic place with stunning views. This place is old and it feels that way. Rooms are clean but not well maintained. However, they still offer you beautiful view of the background and the tall buildings on the other side.I didn't try the restaurant except for the complimentary breakfast and it was okay. The resort has a mini golf course, but I can't imagine anyone playing golf in that tall grass. There's a small pool out in the open. Overall, a quaint place to spend a weekend on a budget.

I stayed for two nights in the hotel. After having a terrible time on the first night, the staff responded and assigned a better room. The earlier room lacked some of the most basic facilities. The room service was average at the best and the changing room of the pool lacked basic facilities like functional shower and bathing gel/shampoo. The property in general was good with good parking space and well maintained parks.

Everything was fine but still not the best. We can ask and get whatever service we need but nothing proactively from their end. Rooms are clean and classic but not well maintained. The restaurant was good and offers dishes at reasonable rates. I would recommended this place for family gatherings and events.

Beautiful place to stay for 1 or two days. They have some rooms overlooking the back water. You will have the view of the back water from your bed. The swimming pool is also not bad. And the main palace has beautiful wooden designs. Looks differently beautiful at day and night.

Only for once for a try. Never again. Can’t consider as star hotel. Service is just below average. The amount I paid for a palace suite and didn’t get any treatment as I paid for the expensive room. May because it belongs to KTDC. Didn’t see anyone smiling or wishing a guest. Only one guy from room service and the life guard was helpful. Tried only breakfast and that was way below quality.

If you love to be in a calm, quiet and romantic place in the middle of town, then this is the ideal location. Great for honeymoon and family pleasure trips. Excellent property, but poorly maintained and managed. KTDC need to improve a lot on their property management, cleanliness and professional hospitality service.

Bolgatty Palace is always a fascinating place and equally beautiful to visit .The location is superb. You can enjoy the view of the lake. Lots of places to walk around, sit and relax. Food is really tasty. It's cheaper too compared to other hotels with similar services. It's neat and clean and is well maintained. Located on the river side and the view is awesome. Above all the staff are very friendly and helpful. Worth visiting and hanging out...

Bolgatty Place in Kochi is absolutely top-notch! The staff there are seriously the friendliest bunch you'll ever meet. They've always been so kind and helpful, especially when I go there for my photoshoots. The whole vibe of the place is just perfect. It really sets the mood for some amazing photos. You can tell they put a lot of effort into keeping everything looking great. For a place with such a cozy and welcoming atmosphere, and a team that treats you like a friend, Bolgatty Place is the go-to. I'd give it five stars without a doubt!

Obviously a great location, well it's a good value for money too. I only stayed few hours in the night so won't comment much. We had a huge wedding happening in Grand Hyatt which is a km away so we the planning team was staying around the corner which is Bolgatt palace. It was monsoon and we couldn't enjoy the property much, but a great stay all together.

Maintains the looks and surroundings as it is. That's good. No new constructions.. For bigger functions opting for make shift facilities is a good one. Quite and beautiful composite ambience and freedom to stretch and walk around and enjoy the views, in the middle of the city. I like this place. Potholes of the approach road require attention

The lake view from room was amazing, it's better to go in winter otherwise it's too hot outside. Room service is okay, food is fine. Front office is poor. The behavior of ladies sitting in front office is strange, unlike other resorts, they won't welcome you with a smile, you can see only attitude on their faces. More over you have to carry you baggage, I had to carry 2,3 bags and my daughter. No one will help you, of course it's government's you can't expect that good service from there how you get from private resorts. My first impression itself was bad. The view from room, resort, palace, lawn all were absolutely amazing. There is a small park for kids, pool is well maintained, restorent and food is okay. On top of that you will get a good ambience and good piece of mind.

For a govt run hotel it's excellent as compared to other tourist development corporations of state government, no doubt about it. Pls don't compare with Pvt hotels. It's a hotel amidst a 9 hole golf course. Food is bad, no live counters for breakfast. Served in hot packs, including dosa and omelette. But it's worth for the location and also for the effort of the govt staff to strive for excellence competing with Pvt hotels. They might not be perfect, but they strive. Couples should opt for cottages, a secluded and pristine perspective. Marine view rooms are too small but the view is great. We struggled for space, a couple. They allow outside food.

I recently had the pleasure of staying at Bolgatty Palace and island and Spa and I must say, the hospitality was exceptional. My wife and I stayed in Bolgatty Palace and Island Resort for two days from 21st June ,2023 onward. We booked a Palace suite ( Van Gogh suite), and had a wonderful experience. The spacious layout and luxurious interior with high ceilings, period furniture and beautiful paintings made us feel that we were really living in a historical and grand place . We also found the staff at the reception counter as well as housekeeping very courteous and cooperative. The food served at the dining hall was also sumptuous and delicious including the traditional cuisine of Kerala. The property is located in a vast area with a beautiful view overlooking the waterfront. Having travelled all over the country and stayed in the best hotels, I would recommend a stay in this wonderful place , to fellow travellers visiting Kerala, for an experience worth remembering. This place requires lots of maintenance. Some of the rooms including palace suity have bad odor when entering. Some rooms centralized ac is faulty and instead have unit ac which is not sufficient to cool the room. It would have been better if welcome drink was offered for the guests. We came here with a plan to have romantic evening but was really disappointed. I have seen many reviews which tells the poor quality of maintenance but can't see any improvements been made.

Stepping into this hotel felt like entering a serene oasis. The carefully curated ambience, a fusion of contemporary aesthetics and calming elements, transformed my stay into a rejuvenating experience. From the soothing color palette to the thoughtfully arranged decor, every detail exuded a sense of comfort and luxury, making it an ideal escape from the bustling city life.

The service is absolutely pathetic. Rooms do need a bit of maintenance/renovation. The location is excellent. They have this weirdest rule that they will serve A la cartΓ© only in the room and only buffet at the restaurant. And when you order they forget to send something or the other. Breakfast timings are 7 am onwards, but the full spread was laid down only at around 8.15am You can not place the order for food at the restaurant... you have to go to the room and call and order. Have any doubts? Call the reception and ask...the staff would not have any clue the answer is always you can call and ask.

The website doesnot give clear picture of the room and their views. I booked a lake view cottage hoping it was the individual round shaped structure that we get to see while we go for boating in the lake, but ended up in a room adjacent to the lake with no seperate balcony . I wont say it was bad, but I was misleaded. Secondly lunch buffet spread was very disappointing. They charge 700 + tax per pax , for 2 varieties of rice and one curry option each of chicken, fish and meat. The salad spread was not fresh.

First impressions are the last impressions they say, so true about this location, This was our first stop in Kerala, we actually thought that we were going to visit a tourist location of a heritage home. Turned out to be a resort. Nevertheless we enjoyed the location, had a couple of beers, and experienced good vibes. Had we known about this resort earlier perhaps we could have booked our stay in this property.

Excellent, place to stay and visit. . Definitely a must stay property in cochin. Location and views are awesome. Rooms are soo luxurious and very spacious. Pool, restaurant and sea side areas are the main attraction to this palace.Luxury at its best. The surroundings are worth spending for lesiure during the day. The palace suite was a real royal experience with palatial rooms, exquisite decor, amazing furnitures and excellent service. They have a roof top restaurant with amazing view and the complimentary breakfast was also good. Worth the price. Staffs are friendly and courteous. We loved the old fashion feel, the beautiful gardens and the fabulous view from our room. If visiting Kochi don't leave without visiting Bolgatty Palace and Island Resort. It has unbelievable serenity and natural beauty.

Had a one night stay...opted for executive suites. frankly speaking for the price it's below average. Only good thing is the clean room. Place is crowded due to marriage parties and functions. No calm or privacy. You don't get to see the palace or enjoy the views. The most terrible thing is.... "there's no seperate lock for the door from inside...room boy just forced inside the room without even knocking while I was there. He said was just checking the lock. UNACCEPTABLE BEHAVIOUR. With a master key any one can open the room any time". Be alert always while changing the clothes...

Good service and rooms were just ok ok. We have a lot of space to walk around. They also have a golf club, bar and gym. Their lake view is a must visit. We had a morning buffet and it was surprisingly pretty nice. The highlight for the smokers is that the entire property is a free smoking zone.

We booked a Lake view cottage for 3 nights but had to move out after spending 1 day. The rooms r so compact and visibly dirty. When we checked in everything seemed fine but later We noticed there were insects/Lizards crawling around the curtains and side tables. The pool was unclean and the play area was poorly mainted. The only plus is the view and the scenery, apart from them both stay and food is not advisable. The palace is in a pathetic state!

If you like to experience the palace, the vast area along with its natural views then the Laplace won't be disappointing you. The port view or the views from marina view rooms are just awesome. The food quality is good the room service is horrible. The amenities are somewhat ok types. The beauty is when you come out if your room and explore the entire place. Loads of mosquitoes are there so it's better to carry some repellents.

First time visiting bolgatty resort after this pandemic breaks. it's a great place for family getaway... location is really beautiful, with lake view on all sides and facing the marine drive of kochi... food is just average with the spread and variety so less but quality not bad. Ambience is good, feel so nice to walk through the garden and the aisle in the night..

A place where you can relax your mind and be with nature. The staffs are very helpful and well mannered. There are attractive spots for the pleasure activities which includes the gym, indoor game zones, golf court etc. The special attraction is the pool which is well maintained and always under surveillance. Kids have their own pool and a small park. Food served here is of high quality and that too in buffet manner. Overall a place where you can find solace.

One of the oldest existing Dutch Mansions outside Holland for a pleasant stay. Used to visit occasionally. With palace, backwaters and nature the island resort was best suited for a comfortable and relaxed stay having tantalizing memories. Traditional style spacious rooms were charm, neat, clean, well furnished and properly maintained. There were excellent amenities and facilities. Facing the backwaters the balcony refreshed with breeze, beautiful sunset and city views. The restaurant was specialized with delicious dishes having varieties of selections and professional services. There is a beer parlour as well. Hospitality was the best.

Great food. This review is based on the visit made just after Christmas. The buffet had great food and the spread was good. Unique resort, ancient Dutch palace. Therefore you cannot expect something new and shiny, but a beautiful old style location. Still very clean and good service is provided. Breakfast and dinner buffet were good, different food options to choose from, but not top quality I would say. The gym and the spa are also very basic, they could improve easily. Still it's a beautiful place and worth the price for a special stay while visiting Kochi!

Stayed there for 1 night, in the Marina wing. Room was small, pretty ordinary with basic amenities. Room service was virtually non-existent. Even to get a cup of tea we had to access the restaurant at the main complex. Only positive was view of the lake & marina from balcony - boats, steamers & ships passing by. Dinner spread was of average taste & not really focused on local cuisine - a disappointment. I would suggest future travellers to opt for palace rooms / suites. Staying experience would be much better.

Part of History, this structure was a Palace and later converted to Hotel by KTDC. Later they added few cylindrical shaped rooms on a pillar in the centre as Honeymoon cottage. They do have rooms inside the Palace as well, a small Beer parlour, an outdoor swimming pool, 3 different halls with seating capacity for about 30 to 50 for two of them and about 200 for the bigger one which is a bit away from the main structure. They have buffet during weekends and that costs approx. Rs.650+ tax.

Rooms are clean and decent. The property is huge. It’s surrounded by backwaters on 3 sides. It has a nice community hall for conferences and events, huge garden area, a golf course, swimming pool. The Ayurvedic spa is not good- quite shabby. Food was monotonous and spicy.
