The Chathedom - Gothuruth ferry has been there for the past several decades.In the earlier days two big canoes were being used for the ferry and they were operating simultaneously ie when one canoe carrying passengers starts from Thuruthipuram the other leaves from Gothuruth with the people.Now a Boat fastened to the raft on canoes is made use of for transporting two wheelers also along with the passengers.The inhabitants of Thuruthipuram often uses this ferry in order to catch buses bound for Paravur, Aluva,Vypin, Ernakulam etc places.This ferry is under the control of the local Panchayath.
