Very reasonably priced and very tasty food . I couldn’t sleep late to enjoy the nature early in the morning clicking photos round about the area . We stayed while going and returning from dzukou valley . AJO can arrange whatever is needed for the trip taxi to porter . Very friendly people and helpful . It’s the best per dzukou valley experience you can get also even if you don’t go for dzokou you can still stay and enjoy the natural beauty and fresh air . Much needed to recharge your self .

The best place to stay at if you are travelling for either dzukou or hornbill or just exploring Nagaland. The place is little downhill and at the edge of paddy fields which makes it unique, quiet, serene and peaceful. Our host made sure we felt comfortable during our stay from hot water to fresh organic healthy food. Thankyou so much for bearing us, we are not staying anywhere except at yours when we visit again. A great homestay. It's close to the Zakhama entry point (easy walk distance) for a wonderful trek to the Dzouku Valley, a truly wonderful experience. Homestay has either bedroom or tent accommodation. Wake up to beautiful views rice paddies, fields of rich well cultivated vegetables and of course the manditory chickens. Breakfast is included, always tasty and sufficient. For a small cost you can have dinner cooked and eat with the hosts, which I highly recommend as the food is tasty with plenty on offer. Beautiful family, great hosts, top views, very relaxing.

I must say this is the best place to stay in Jakhama. The hospitality is good. The people are very friendly. It's a place you can stay with family or friends. They provide good quality and home grown food and maintain proper sanitations. And you'll surely enjoy the bonfire, songs and barbecue during the night. And the camp is also budget friendly. This camp is worth of the 5 stars. Going Dzukou? Go Hillfoot camp. ❤️

If you are someone exploring Nagaland for the first time, I can assure you that this is probably one of the best place to stay and start your journey. This homestay will prove how sustainable living is possible if one wishes for it. They have a small farm and animal shed that takes care of their livehood for year round. Our host Nikki took great care of us while we stayed here. She helped us with various arrangements like dzukuo valley trek, travel to dimapur, food, etc. Her group of friends ensured we had a nice time while the sun sets here as early as 5PM. She also prepared food herself every morning and evening based on our wishlist. Charges are very nominal if you compare it with the experience you get while staying at this homestay. The local Naga village is a short walking distance away and its residents are too welcoming! Everyone asked us to visit their village during the hornbill festival and insisted that we book a stay within the village. Totally amazed by the hospitality of this region.

Vimayie & his family along with his friends are great hosts. They have tents as well as rooms. All for a rustic homely environment. Had the roads across Nagaland been better such hosts would have got more guests. Try out the tinned fish curry made by his friend, Azo. If you wish to go for Dzukou Valley Trek ask for Ato as guide. If you wish to hang around then ask for Nya as guide & driver. Lastly you will never feel away from home if you are with Vimeyie's family & friends.

We stayed in this place on 11 th August...did not get a tent...but we stayed in a room of the homestay which is basic ,the food was awesome and last but not the least the surroundings which beyond my words. Till now the best ever homestay ai have ever stayed in terms of location and hospitality. Aiyee the owner of the homestay was also very very helpful. Thanks for hosting us. Hope to revisit and definitely recommended to anyone who is visiting Nagaland and for Dzouku Valley trekkers. One can easily start the trekking from this homestay. It is just 2kms away from the Dzouku treeking point via Zakhama route.

This place is in zakhama. After a long journey from dimapur to zakhama, you can take one night rest before you start your trek for dzku vally. This place have Campsite with a paddy filed view. In one word its awesome. Both tent and room available here. At most you 30+ people they can acomodate. From tent you will get a paddy filed view a small area for chit chat. They have washroom for tent user, though its a little far. If you choose room you will get attached bath, 2 bed. Food was good enough and cheap. Behavior of the owner was mind bloing, his name was ayee. He was a good person.

Hillfoot Camp and Homestay is a must visit for all nature lovers who want to spend some time in an authentic Naga village. You can opt for rooms as well as camps in this homestay. Dzukou entry point is just half an hour by car, so it's a good stopover for people planning to climb the valley next day. The host Mr. Aiye is very humble and responsible, he will take care of all your requirements. And their Bamboo Chicken is a must try if you want to taste some local Naga cuisine.

Best place to stay in Jakhama, during your trip to Dzukou Valley. One can spend a quality time over here. Camping & cottage both are available here, but we suggest to do camping in this very beautiful place. You'll witness the famous terrace cultivation of Jakhama from the campsite. If you love nature, then come to Hillfoot Camps.

Ayie Khatso saves the day, and our trip, and our lives! (read on for details) We went on an group trek to Dzukou, but somehow, the organisers we had booked through, completely disappeared at Ziro, and didn't arrange for anything in therms of fooding and lodging at any of the places they we supposed to. We were completely lost. No idea where anything was, how to transport...hungry, needing a bath...and our organiser was nowhere! Then came Ayie! The first time we met...a calm gentle guy, taken completely by surprise at the situation of our arrival, since he wasn't told before. We talked, explained our situation, and talked more about how to recover our predicament. Turned out, he had a "homestay" and was willing... Imagine this...we didn't even know about his homestay...and here he was, completely unprepared, but still willing. Such is hospitality and friendliness. And then we made our special request- if by any chance, and we're definitely not insisting, by any chance we could have a home-cooked simple Angami dinner of pork and bamboo shoot....for when we returned. He simply said ...ok. A day later, we come down from Dzukou, wet (we encountered rain), cold and exhausted, but somehow still in high spirits. I guess thats what Dzukou does to you. We come to Aiye's home, where we would stya the night. To us, it was the warmest place then...felt cozy and inviting. So we trundled in, wet and soiled, had some refreshing hot tea, and proceeded to shower and clean up. After the shower, we were welcomed into their kitchen...where an open hearth fire was going on....and a table was laid out with the most amazing looking pork curry and steamed veggies! Made tenderly by Aiye's mom and sister! Can a person ask for more?! Do note, that it was a sunday, and in Nagaland, sunday is sabbath. Everything is closed. Aiye had to go to Kohima to get the pork! Talk about hospitality! I don't think I'll get this anywhere else in the world! We had the food...talked a lot about a lot of things. Aiye's sister showed us around the whole preperty, with their paddy fields, chicken, pigs, an open space with tents, a traditional communal space with a firepit and a roof. It was there that we sat and talked more, and had tea, and talked more into the night. And when we retired, we snuggled into warm clean beds that were very very comfortable. I think it's safe to say that we slept like babies. Next morning, Aiye played his magic again, and got us a car for our onwards journey to Mao and Imphal. Thank you Aiye and Family...we shall definitely come and stay again. It was very warm of you.

Enjoy a perfect homestay experience in Hill Foot Homestay and experience authentic Naga cuisine from their traditional in-house Kitchen. The Host Ayie can also help you out with any arrangements within Nagaland that you may require. Do visit here if you’re planning to Visit Kohima and nearby villages.

Ayie is a very hospitable host. He's very silent but very attentive when it comes to his guest's experience. He helped us trek the dzukou valley on a budget. The stay was very comfortable with home made food. Better than most of the ones in Zakhama. Would definitely recommend.

Stayed here for 6 nights during a solo trip. Was one of the best experiences of my life. Ayie and Azho are amazing hosts who will really look after you and make sure you are having a great time. Their cousins and friends from the village are such fun to be with too and I was surprised at how quickly I became friends with them. The location is great especially if you are looking to move away from crowds and noise. Highly recommend this homestay.

👍👍 Great place to camp! The only camp that's open through the year - the others just pop up for Hornbill festival and disappear. The folks who run the place are very courteous and very helpful! Prices are very affordable and there are clean washrooms available at the campsite. Highly recommended!
