The entrance to one of the biggest villages in the world. Kohima village is rated as the second biggest village in the world. The village is subdivided into four major sections called khels. The four khels are Dapfhütsumia, Pfuchatsumia, Lhisemia and Tsütuonuomia. The size of population and land area are what contributes to its popularity. There are close to a hundred clans in these four khels. All the four khels have its own major Naga traditional gates known as "Kharu". On the East side of the village is Chedema and Rüsoma as immediate neighbouring villages, on the North side is Meriema and Tsiesema, West side is Jotsoma and South side is Phesama and Mima. Traditional stories say that Kohima village was built within the proximity of seven lakes "rüzie" and that was why the village became prosperous both in population and wealth. The village holds its biennial sports at Khuochiezie with the last one from January 17 to 22, 2022.

Just an arch like structure. No door or anything. But arch pillars are beautifully sculpted with Naga traditional warriors. Worth checking it out.

Also chicken Only problem is it is too crowded and no parking is available! So be ready to walk great distances. It is closed on Sundays and...
