Takht Sri Damdama Sahib is a prominent Sikh pilgrimage site in Punjab, India. It is situated in the town of Talwandi Sabo, which is also known as Damdama Sahib. The site is considered one of the five Takhts or temporal seats of authority of the Sikh religion. The history of Damdama Sahib dates back to the 17th century when Guru Gobind Singh, the tenth Sikh guru, visited the place during his travels. The guru stayed at Talwandi Sabo for about a year and a half, during which time he compiled the Sikh holy book, the Guru Granth Sahib. This compilation was done in the year 1705, and became the central religious text of the Sikh religion. The guru also established a school here, which attracted scholars and students from various parts of India. After the guru's departure, the site became a place of pilgrimage for Sikhs. Over the years, various gurdwaras or Sikh temples were built at the site, including the Takht Sri Damdama Sahib, which was established in the early 20th century. The Takht is the highest seat of religious authority in the Sikh religion, and it is considered a place of great spiritual significance. In addition to its religious significance, Damdama Sahib Talwandi Sabo has played an important role in the political history of the Sikh community. During the 18th century, the site was a center of resistance against the Mughal Empire, which was then ruling over much of India. Sikh leaders such as Baba Banda Singh Bahadur and Nawab Kapur Singh used the site as a base for their military campaigns against the Mughals. Today, Damdama Sahib is a popular destination for Sikhs from around the world. The site is known for its beautiful architecture, peaceful atmosphere, and rich history. It continues to be an important center of Sikh learning and spirituality, attracting thousands of visitors each year. The site also hosts a number of religious festivals and events throughout the year, including the Maghi Mela, which is held in January.

This is one of the Takhat out of total 5 takhats in India. This is the place where nauva mohalla of Shri Guru Granth Sahib was written. Shri Guru Gobind Singh Ji stayed here for some time and observed completion of Shri Guru Granth Sahib. As per the tradition if you write 35 alphabets of Punjabi here your spiritual connection improves and you are blessed. This shrine is nearly 30 kms from Bathinda. One must visit this shrine for getting real peace.

ਵਾਹਿਗੁਰੂ ਜੀ ਦਾ ਖਾਲਸਾ, ਵਾਹਿਗੁਰੂ ਜੀ ਦੀ ਫਤਿਹ। This is one of the 5 Takhts that sikhs have. You can reach here only by road. Pilgrims can come to Bhatinda by Rail and from then pilgrims can reach Takht Sahib by Auto (max 5) which are available right outside the station or from there you can reach bus stand and catch bus departing towards Talwandi Sabo. This place has been blessed with the 10th Guru Sahib Shri Guru Gobind Singh Ji and also blessed with Shaheed Baba Deep Singh Ji. You can easily avail rooms from the Yatri Niwas at a very significant cost.

I had a great and peaceful experience being at Takht Sri Damdama Sahib ji 3-4 days back. We were 13-14 people and we stayed at NRI niwas after making booking in advance. The NRI niwas is well maintained from outside, however, the maintenance of room is in process. The renovation and construction is going on in different parts of the Gurudware. We had darshan of every gurudware Sahib that is within the premises. There are 8-10 gurudware and they have their own history and importance. They have a small market close by and it closes by 8-8:30 pm. You can have langar feel blessed. Would suggest you to visit this place to experience serenity.

One of the five takhts of the Sikhs, this is a very beautiful Gurudwara... It holds extreme historical importance as it is said that Shri Guru Gobind Singh Ji completed his literary work here... Also, there is a mirror inside the Gurudwara which is known to cure diseases if one comes regularly and sits in front of it... Must visit for a peaceful and serene experience!

Peace comes to you only at a Gurudwara. It's one of the Takht of Sikhs. Divine peace. Its a deep belief if one visits Gurudwara Likhansar and write your wish and take a holy dip your wish is granted. Got the opportunity to stay overnight. Hygienic rooms available for pilgrims.

One of the 5 Takhts of Sikhism, Damdama Sahib stands as one of the most important religious place. But the footfall of devotees is very less as compared to other takhts. But truly the place is sacred and blessed.
