It's the ancestral house of Great Indian leader, national hero Netaji SubhashChandra Bose. Pride of the local area, pride of Kodalia village, now it's renovated. Now it's open for all kind of people & old constructions are build again. Now, people can safely visit the place. Local authority has done a great job. Netaji's brother Saratchandra Bose's family used to live here. The Durga puja of the netaji's house is still running in every year. The Jagadhatri puja of the house is one of oldest puja & festival of the locality.

Netaji Subhash Chandra Bose's ancestral house in kodalia, is in the southern fringes of Kolkata, near Harinavi. The place is aptly called Subhashgram after him. His father was a student at the Anglo Sanskrit school in Harinavi. The house and surroundings are open to public on 23rd January every year, on Netaji's birthday.

It was very unfortunate to hear that this historical place kept closed throughout the year except 23 January and 15 August. It's a shame for those authorities who claim to be a lover of great man of India Netaji Subhash Chandra Bose.

An uncovered destination. It's the ancestral house of Netaji, though he was actually from Cuttack. Currently it's under renovation and I was not allowed to visit but was told about his belongings being kept there.

No entrance any way, you have to ponder from outside, ambience is good, it remains open during 23rd January to weeklong. Mainly the library. Also a theme to look upon here is the post office. Old and ethnic beauty is within

Way back in the 18th century, ancestors of Netaji had settled down in this place. Some place the date to 1759. The Kodalia house was built by Netaji’s grandfather, Haranath Bose, in the 18th century. Netaji's father, Janakinath, had spent his childhood there. One room upstairs was used by Janakinath and wife Prabhabati before they moved to Cuttack where Netaji was born and spent his early years.
