The 3hours I spent there was very precious. Padmashree Ramachandra Pulavar and his son Rajeev Pulavar patiently explained everything about Tholpaavakoothu. I got to see various skin puppets and the way they work with it to make a puppet. The process I felt was so meditative. Also I got to see the puppets play in the koothmaadam. And the umpteen books of shadow puppetry help one in understanding more. A precious place with very beautiful people.

This is a great place to learn about shadow Puppetry. I visited this place along with a group of friends and turned out to be one of the best experiences of our trip. It is run by Padmasri Rama Chandra pulavar and his sons. It was great to know the years of their family history and about against all odds they are continuing this art form. The youngest son, Rahul got a Scholarship from a university in the US for doing his PhD in puppetry. A must visit place!

I met Ramachandra Pulavar during a SPIC MACAY conference. With a great detail and care he shared his artform with children and young people and gave us insights on the history of it. Kerala traditional Puppetry is an ancient artform and requires extensive knowledge of both its ritualistic and artistic aspect to perform it. Kerala Puppetry School is one of the very few traditional schools, which preserves the authenticity of the art, yet is ready to share this knowledge with modern generations in the way we understand it. Definitely it's worth a visit, I myself am looking eagerly for an opportunity to learn some basics of puppetry from the masters.

I have booked the Shadow Puppetry for an awareness programme in Food Safety for the Dept of Kerala. They did a very amazing job par excellence than what we could think ever think of. They amazed us with their gifted talents. If Covid had not hit they would have got a few more stages in our dept.

I visited Tholpavakoothu Kalakendram, Koonathara with my family. It was an amazing experience for us. Padmasree Ramachandra Pulvar and his sons are leading this show. He explained very well about the art form of "Tholpavakoothu" and also performed a small portion for us. It was really nice experience for us, especially my 9 year old son enjoyed really well. I would recommend this as a must visit place for those who love to see an old art form
